Gov. Sarah Palin To Address CPAC; Doug Mataconis’s Nose Wrinkles In Disdain

CPAC 2013 remains a crucial huddle for the battered troops.

The American Conservative Union (ACU) today announced former Vice Presidential Candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will address CPAC 2013 – the 40th annual Conservative Political Action Conference. America’s largest gathering of conservative leaders and activists will be held Thursday, March 14 – Saturday, March 16, 2013.“We are pleased to again welcome Governor Sarah Palin to CPAC in March,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “Governor Palin electrified the crowd in 2012 and we are thrilled to welcome her back this year.”

The whole GOProud kerfuffle doesn’t interest me, on so many levels. Sexuality as policy is the ne plus ultra of politics in everything. The SoCon/GayCon cage match is just a distraction from the reform we need.

On the other hand, Sarah represents the anti-elitist spirit that founded this country. Her capacity to make heads on the Left, and even thinly-disguised statists like Mataconis, remains a site to behold.

CPAC’s a month away, and I can’t wait.

Something I said on another board that I’d like to repeat here:

GOProud isn’t conservatives proclaiming that they’re gay, they’re gays proclaiming that they’re conservatives. Subtle difference that some overlook.

Sarah Palin joins Allen West, Ted Cruz as one of few truth tellers in the political arena anymore. We have enough spaghetti spines in elected office to have pasta for breakfast, lunch, & dinner every day.

The ‘sploding heads alone make Sarah’s speech worthwhile.

Doug Mataconis can f**k off. He’s merely following the well worn path of other economic war criminals in D.C. by trashing Palin to suck up to the Rove/Gillespie/Bushtard Elite the run the GOP and dole out the campaign jobs and the litigation. Palin doesn’t run in that crowd. I wouldn’t trust Mataconis anywhere near my campaign; I don’t care if I were running for Justice of the Peace-guy’s a “me too, I’m sorry” Republican.
Sarah, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul need to lead a Stalin purge to send these guys onto the Permanent Back Nine at Burning Tree where they belong. People like Mataconis, Frum, and Rove are about as useful to the GOP as a xylophone on a first date.

It is always interesting the way Sarah Palin ruffles the left but what is more interesting is how she irritates the RINO, Bush, Rove wing of the GOP Establishment.

Has Mataconis ever actually done anything useful for either the GOP or the conservative movement? (Spending wayyyyy too much time on Twitter, and I would think this was manifest, but just to get it into the record, doesn’t count.)

Hey, now! At least taking a xylophone on the first date guarantees you’ll have the chance to bang something.

I think he used to be a “hard” libertarian back in Bush’s first term. Then again, so was that guy who ran LGF.

You are so right. I’m not a hardcore Palinista, I think she is not without flaws. Of course it is another question whether those flaws are any worse than those of others who have run for President in the past few cycles, most especially including the current POTUS and his SoS.

But there is something about her that just rubs the right people the wrong way (or is it the wrong people the right way or …). It blows my mind that *Barbara Bush* felt compelled to disparage her. Here is a woman in her 80s, the wife of one President and the mother of another, but she could not restrain herself from taking a cheap shot at Palin.

I’m working to raise $1 million for SarahPAC to give her a much bigger voice within conservatism and the GOP. Help me if you can:

Barbara Bush is a wonderful woman, who, I suspect, is a joy to be around. However, she is a blueblood and they do look down on all others not of their breeding.
