Wrong Headline, Professor

Posted on | February 21, 2013 | 16 Comments

Glenn Greenwald spent the Bush years in a constant state of hysteria about war and infringements of civil liberties. It’s hard to think of a commentator who more typifies the anti-war Left of that era. It is therefore a shock to see Greenwald now grumbling this way:

I wonder: does someone who goes from being an Obama White House spokesman and Obama campaign official to being an MSNBC contributor even notice that they changed jobs?

Greenwald’s complaint was quoted by Professor Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit, but he missed the obvious headline:

If Obama Has Lost Glenn Greenwald . . .

Fixed that for you.

Glenn Greenwald is still reeling from Carnivale in Brazil. Funny post!

If Obama has lost Glenn Greenwald… it means nothing. Obama got what he wanted from Greenwald, and little Glenn can vogue like Julian Assange now for all Barry cares. He is not of the slightest use to or influence on Obama anymore. And truth to tell, sitting down there in the boy-buggery capital of the Western Hemisphere, Glenn doesn’t really mind. It’s not like those three dead gays in the basement of Obama’s church ever blew him.

I’ll give Greenwald this – unlike a lot of other lefties, he’s been consistent and has grilled Obama for the same infractions he was grilling Bush on.

+1 on Paul Zummo’s words. Greenwald is a partisan lefty, certainly, but at least tries to do real journalism and critique Left as well as Right.

Obama did something many thought was impossible: made Glenn Greenwald into a (mostly) honest lefty.

There ARE no honest lefties. They shilled for Obama when it benefited them, and now they’re having sudden attacks of “integrity” for CYA…

Yes, Greenwald is the only progressive writer I can tolerate. I don’t read him faithfully but I’ve never seen him as a willfully blind Obama fanboy.

    I would say it’s “Another Rube Self-identifies”

Greenwald is consistent, but not principled. He got started in the business of Left Commentary by being outed for his use of sock-puppets. Someone so dishonest as to create his own audience is someone ready for the majors.
Push comes to shove, Greenwald is a hard-core Prognazi. Should he ever suffer a crisis of conscience, he’ll get the Foley treatment, with lurid tales of Brazilian catamites to keep him in place.

    THIS.

How he failed to become an internet verb for that I still don’t know.

The Gleens have proven mendacious and not worthy of serious consideration on multiple occasions. His oft expressed ‘concerns’ for liberal principles is merely a tool used to further the destruction of any pre-existing order. He is hard leftist to the core and should not in any way be trusted.

The Communists had their Greenwalds when they took over Russia. They offered their criticisms of the Bolshevik leaders and were allowed, for show, to carry-on for a while. But, eventually, each and everyone was forced to recant everything. Some survived, most did not and were put up against a wall.

To survive in a Leftist regime you have to be smart enough to chose the winning team early on because their leaders always have long memories.

If you lose Glenn Greenwald, check the sock drawer.

But anyone should notice the difference between Obama spokesman and MSNBC talking head. When working for Obama, they try to disguise the extreme leftist policies as something else. When they get to MSNBC, they are free to just cheer them.

Because “Greenwalding” sounds like some disgusting sexual practice Schmalfeldt would engage in.

True dat. Glenn is loyally and exclusively only a Greenwald fanboy. So say him all.

“If Obama Has Lost Glenn Greenwald…” Obama doesn’t give one drizzley shit. He doesn’t need Greenwald. Wake up.
