The Face of Cowardice: Theresa May

Meet the hideous creature who banned Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from England: British Home Secretary Theresa May, a disgrace to her office, to her nation and to every British citizen who ever lived. On June 25, this deplorable stain on the reputation of a once honorable people “personally directed that [Geller] should be excluded from the United Kingdom” because it is believed that Geller would “foment or justify terrorist violence . . . provoke others to terrorist acts . . . foster hatred,” etc. Robert Spencer writes of the ban:

We had planned to lay a wreath at a memorial to British soldier Lee Rigby, who was beheaded by Islamic jihadists on a Woolwich street on May 22. But it is not conducive to the public good in Britain to oppose jihad violence and Islamic supremacism.

British schoolgirls are being systematically gang-raped by Muslims and British soldiers are being hacked to death in the street by Muslims and yet this despicable gutless appeaser, Theresa May, thinks the way to solve the problem is to ban critics of Islam?

Neville Chamberlain was a heroic statesman by comparison.

I’m trying to get an e-mail address for Theresa May, so that I can send her a request that she also ban me from the nation whose honor she has so despicably surrendered to the despotic rule of sharia.

Meanwhile, I just hit the tip jar at both Pamela Geller’s Atlas Shrugs and Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch, and hope you will, too.

UPDATE: Years ago, there was a BBC mini-series about the RAF pilots who saved England in the darkest hours of the Blitz.

A squadron of Spitfires would take off, lose perhaps one-third or one-half their number in the desperate dogfights with the Nazis and, when the surviving pilots made it back to base, the question would be asked, “How was it up there today?”

“Piece of cake.”

What heroic nobility! That’s the old British stiff-upper-lip stoicism, the jaunty indifference to danger: “Piece of cake.”

Damn, to see England go under in dishonor like this . .

UPDATE II: A belated welcome to Instapundit readers, and I’m pleased to report that a commenter has provided an e-mail address for Teresa May: [email protected]

  1. This species of attack on Geller — “Don’t give money to the RICH JEW!” — would be disgusting under any circumstances. But under current circumstances, it’s pathetic.

And in what Marxist universe are our contributions to bloggers — to encourage and reward good work — a function of our judgment of their need?

It has never been my thought that I should plead poverty in pursuing reader-sponsored journalism. As I’ve always said, I am a shameless capitalist, and regard the tip jar as a fee-for-service arrangement with readers. If they like the work I’m doing and want to see more of it, well, hit the freaking tip jar. And I reckon that Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer operate in the same manner.

What an unchivalrous spirit you manifest — at a time such as this — to make such an attack.

  2. “British soldiers are being hacked to death…”

I am unaware of more than one instance where this has taken place. This is blatant exaggeration and you weaken your argument when you do this, Stacy.

There’s more than enough disgusting behavior on the part of Muslims to provide cause for outrage. Don’t give the nit-pickers a chance to derail or minimize your argument, please.

  3. Was over in London a lot in the 80’s professionally and socially. Liked the city, liked the people.

Not feeling much urge to go back.

  4. Specifically in the vaunted British Press. Journalistic integrity is a thin armor when it’s your neck under a Muslim knife…

  5. If it’ll help JP, I’ll write a letter to the Foreign Office suggesting you be denied entry, if you think it will help. – hisham

  6. I don’t know. Are you a commie Muslim thug, therefore part of the in crowd with influence, or an ostracized conservative believer in individual freedom who they won’t listen to?

  7. I sometimes wonder if the reason you used to rightfully attack LGF so vociferously is that you saw a little bit if yourself in Charles Johnson.

I’m a Jew, RSM, and used to contribute to Ms. Geller’s website when she wasn’t known outside the J-blogs (Jewish blogosphere), certainly before you ever decided to take up her cause or bring your little insulting minions out from behind whatever rock they normally hide behind because my comment insulted whatever orthodoxy you hold around here.

I’ve met both Ms. Geller and Mr. Spencer, spent hundreds of dollars to fly to NYC to a fundraising event they sponsored. I believe in what they do and how they do it.

In your case I believe “hitting the tip jar” is warranted, and I have done so on a few occasions in the past. No more I can assure you. I believe in supporting citizen journalism. My only problem with Ms. Geller’s tip jar is that it seems unwarranted. She is a published author, national speaker, and multi millionaire. She hardly needs the help, help that is better spent elsewhere. A “thumbs up” or “like” feature goes a long way, certainly farther than insulting me over a thought process that speaks more about you than it does for me.

  8. “1940: RAF battles Luftwaffe to save England from totalitarian evil. 2013: England surrrenders to totalitarian evil.”
Ti’s all in pieces; all coherence gone.
coming soon, if not there already, to the United States.

  9. Why is it that little, whiny gits like you always complain about being insulted after they fling their monkey poo at someone else?

You know what? You can stop sending her money anytime. I’m sure we’ll make up for your paltry contribution just fine.

  10. OP: I tried to send an e-mail to you via the address by which you are registered, but it bounced.

I don’t want to have a public argument like this, and have no idea on earth why you thought the comments here would be a good place to slag Pamela Geller and then, when I pushed back, why you decided to start make it a personal thing against me.

    What’s going on here?

While you’re at it, could ask her a question for me? Find out if those of us here in the US who served during the “War on Terrorism” are also banned from the UK. I mean, seeing as that might “foment or justify terrorist violence…provoke others to terrorist acts…foster hatred.”

Because, well…we did actively pursue and fight jihadists. Heck some of us killed them. She can’t accuse Geller of that. Just sayin’.

  12. This land of such dear souls, this dear dear land,
Dear for her reputation through the world,
Is now leased out, I die pronouncing it,
Like to a tenement or pelting farm:
England, bound in with the triumphant sea
Whose rocky shore beats back the envious siege
Of watery Neptune, is now bound in with shame,
With inky blots and rotten parchment bonds:
That England, that was wont to conquer others,
Hath made a shameful conquest of itself.
Ah, would the scandal vanish with my life,
How happy then were my ensuing death!

—John of Gaunt, Richard II, Act II, scene i
