Honestly, my plan today had been to write about the Virginia governor’s race or Barrett Brown or Michael Hastings, but a certain fateful sentence in Gaelic has been invoked, so I can’t turn loose of the “Free Kate” denouement just yet. While I was engaged in serious work, however, a friend had a Twitter go-round with a bisexual “child-free” feminist atheist who presumed to lecture him:

Damn, these people just hate facts, don’t they?
Back to work. Because nobody has out-crazied me yet.
Why do FreeKate supporters hate parents so much? MT “@smitty_one_each: TOM #FreeKate Comic Interlude http://t.co/GdNRpcuQvP #TCOT”

If only they had Kate’s resolution…
The hero-victim narrative in feminism often takes the form of “courageous” confessions of things that normal people would be embarrassed to reveal. Within the world of heroic victimhood, being on medication for a serious mental illness is something one is praised for sharing.
So then, Amy wanders into an online conversation with normal people, and what they have confessed (seeking sympathy within the feminist narrative) is held up in its true light: SHE’S CRAZY.
Poof!
Now she’ll write a long dramatic story about how right-wing haters were mean to her, because she’s a courageous victim.
Their bizarre worldview seems sane to them because they are, in fact, crazy.

And there you have it in a single tweet. The appeal to her own expertise affirmed by her attendance at some god-awful education college as self-evident support for her making decisions about what’s right for other people’s kids. Make no mistake. This is what these people believe and therefore, it is SOP to marginalize parents at every opportunity in order disabuse their children of all the “myths and falsehoods” perpetrated upon the poor little dears by their family. It is too late to change it. Best to opt out of that system while it is still allowed, because that right will be disappearing, too, sooner rather than later.
What she really does
Wot’s “cis”?
People who believe in objective truth — that which has always been true and will always been true, and therefore is eternal — are deemed by Our Moral Superiors to be ignorant, and in the thrall of “false consciousness.”
The fires of Hell were kindled with such doomed souls in mind, before they were ever born.
“What she really does” — Jeanette Victoria http://t.co/iFKW0QhU3t lol
“cis” = i.e., genetically of one sex and identifying as such; a term invented by radical intellectuals as a corollary for “trans.”
Anyone who sets itself (see what I did there?) as an example for the wacko concept that is “Kyriarchy, is in fact a nut job themselves.
#LawtonAP doesn’t need meds, #LawtonAP needs institutionalization.
And that bit on her blog about “the big, systemic problems that all atheist face.” I dont know whether to laugh or cry.
That means they were eating mushrooms when they came up with it.
Well, not invented.
Just horrible mangled and misused out of proper context.

(Also, I think, to give a “Science!” Cachet at the same time. See, it’s SCIENCE!)
To be honest, for more than a few families, it probably is true that the teacher knows the children better than the parents. But to assume that that is the case for all children, and that that gives you, the teacher, the “moral authority” to make decisions for all those children is at best hubristic, and at worst/most likely crazy.
Spoiled ones to boot!
It must be getting awfully busy in your neck of the woods. Making lots of preps?
And Hell is undergoing a population boom …
I LOL’d. I sure did.
I just posted a comment about Hell getting a population boom. Purgatory? Not so much.
Seems nearly all the newly arrived either go straight up or straight down …
It’s Latin. They had “Cisalpine Gaul” for the parts of Gaul on the Italian side of the Alps, and “Transalpine Gaul” for the rest of it.
From her blog:
Here are the things I actually wish that my parents, and everyone else, knew about bisexuality:
2.) Heterosexuals are extremely common and are therefore the easiest partners to find. (Bold in the original.)
Methinks her parents would like to understand why they pissed away all that tuition money at college for these sorts of insights into the Human Condition.
These kooks seem to feel that the world is ready to embrace them now. It is amusing to watch them when they collide with the world outside of their kook bubble, a world which is obliged to recognize that objective reality still exists and must be considered as a factor in human affairs.
Teachers only know one side of a child, like your colleagues see one side of you. Only the imaginary friend truly know the child. Also all this teacher sees is the inner oppressive patriarch
The donation tweets are the work of Anon.
Hmm. not so good. I was sort of counting on that pre-Interview refresher.
Ha Stacy called that one correct
The biggest problem with Twitter as a social medium is one that the
blogosphere has been battling since the beginning: Ad hominem attacks.
http://waxingliberal.wordpress.com/2013/08/22/my-month-on-twitter/
Yep, sounds about right. It’s just that to be fair, there are parents who completely ignore their children, and those are the ones where the teacher may know them better, even if it isn’t as well as a good parent knows their child.
Of course!
There must be a defined “privilege” group in order to authenticate the “oppressed” group. The tedious progressive drive to define and divide, reducing every human transaction to us v. them. Everyone into their boxes! Plus the jackass urge to shorten terminology to jargon (“cisgender” becomes “cis,” as “bisexual” becomes “bi”) so no one has to think too hard about what it means.
You are of an age and disposition that you would most likely come here for that “refresher” as you call it.
Remind me sometime to tell you about time and how God exists outside of time so that Judgment day is whatever day you “catch the bus” as it were …
Purgatory is aptly named as it a place that exists both in and out of time, where we sinners that are judged worthy enough to escape Hell but not quite worthy enough for Heaven, spend time as punishment for our sins … separated for the Presnce of the Almighty and our loved ones but joyful in the knowledge we will eventually reach Heavem.
Just read some of her blog entries.
What a Goddamn idiot.
There are millions like
her, er, it and I’d be willing to see my tax dollars spent on rebuilding the local mental institutions.Sad thing is, as the years pass, the number of normal people decreases.
From her blog:
“as someone who is an atheist, bi, taking Zoloft, quit teaching to go to grad school”
Damn if she hit everything I’m looking for !!! /sarc
The good thing about being “bi” is that you have a 50% better chance of getting lucky at the end of the night at the bar.
Right on !!!
No one is ever quite normal. The difference is that in the past we had traditions, rituals and customs that we could embrace that allowed people to fit into society. The left has systematically eliminated those.
“The thing about being bisexual is that it doubles your chances of being shot down on a Saturday night…
–Woody Allen
No question Bob, non-subjective reality is under attack to be sure. I just wonder if there are more kooks, or whether they are just more visible because of twitter and FB.
Bradley Manning and Kate are both in jail, and Sydney Leather is sadly contemplating a future life as an AIDS patient.
Twitter seems to be an agent of the Kookpocalypse, flushing them out in the open so Karma can wipe them out.
Optimism vs pessimism !!!
