An Interesting Admission: The Lies of Team Kimberlin and ‘The Gaped Crusader’

“Especially important is the warning to avoid conversations with the demon. . . . He is a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don’t listen to him. Remember that — do not listen.”
— The Exorcist (1973)

Patterico cites Paul Lemmen’s retraction of false accusations he made last year against Brett Kimberlin’s enemies:

Robert Stacy McCain
Patrick “Patterico” Frey
Ali A. Akbar
Blog Bash
National Bloggers Club
Lee Stranahan

Lemmen says the “friends” who fed him these lies were:

Brooks Bayne
Osborne Ink
Crooks and Liars
Alex Brant-Zawadzki
Bill Schmalfeldt

This admission is interesting, I say, and quite timely considering certain allegations in the Kimberlin v. Walker, et. al, lawsuit. Because I think anyone can see the purpose of these smears. I wonder which of Kimberlin’s unnamed associates might be implicated?

“Facts don’t matter, that’s the perception of the situation, and the world is going to act on that basis.”

Hi, Neal.

  1. One the one hand, if this is a legitimately contrite apology, then wow… that was hard to write and I hope he helps the victims of these smears understand this whisper campaign.

On the other hand, fool me twice, shame on me.

  2. Well, Ali says he forgives him, and Lemmen hurt Ali worse than anyone, so there’s that.

My point in quoting “The Exorcist” was that Rauhauser is such a habitual liar and sociopathic manipulator that it is dangerous to think you can cooperate with him. And anyone who does cooperate with Neal is likely to get “turned.”

It happened to Paul, it happened to others.

  3. Well, this should prove interesting when the day comes in court.

I wonder if one of the other side might be considering a quiet settlement?

  4. Stacy, personally I would steer clear of Lemmen as well. Forgiveness coupled with detachment can be a life and sanity saver.

  5. That says a lot more about Ali’s character than anything the bad guys have ever attempted to say.

I have a hard time understanding how anyone can cooperate with Neal as though they’ve been fooled into thinking he’s actually telling the truth or doing good. But maybe I just can’t distance myself from these matters enough to see how.

  6. I am not clear on what, precisely, is going on. However, who trusted Paul Lemmen at any point? And who is trusting his narrative now?

    One hint: not me.

I don’t know who he is manipulating and using now, but assume there is a monetary and ego reason. Be skeptical.

  7. Lemmen claims to have known Rauhauser “back in the day”. Remember Lemmen’ s history.

There is a long con being played. Do not buy into it. The best con a confidence man can run is on people who know he’s a con. Do not trust this person!

  8. I won’t lie. At first I accepted Paul’s posts at face value. I thought he was bringing up some legit points. I even asked Ali to answer them (Ali was totally respectful, but then, so was I). Soon I realized I was mistaken.

The aspect that bugs me is that I made the same mistake with two other guys. While I never buy the con when they get to the con part, I generally assumed good intentions when they are laying the groundwork and being reasonable. It has a long term affect of causing one such as myself to tune out entirely. If the good guys can’t trust eachother it becomes easier to smear them, I think.

  9. Now if you hadn’t been chronicling this over the months, hardly anyone would know what the hell he was talking about.

But you reported on Neal bragging about doing this sort of thing.

We need a Blogger’s Pulitzer for Journalism.

  10. I’m side by side with Dianna on this one. As the other Dustin said, Fool me twice…etc

He quickly wrote an update to include his harming Aaron Walker…I still don’t buy it. Anyone who can side with Rauhauser or Bill Schmalfeldt are not to be trusted. Especially if they are a known con man.

Mr. Hoge has now claimed that he has been feeding information against Team K for most of 2012. I’d really like to know what information, how it was vetted, etc.

I just don’t trust the dude who loves to tell you he is a professional liar. That is usually the set up they love the most, because they TOLD you in the beginning they were no good. They then choose the best moment for stabbing you in the back. It’s their favorite game.

Be careful around this snake. He can speak with honeyed words, yet be peddling nothing but bile, IMO.

I am not saying treat him as a bad man. I’m saying just leave him on the outside of ANY important information. He should not be trusted with ANYTHING that Team K would want to know.

  11. Boom- anyone who can side with BS or NR … that says it all, doesn’t it? Especially given that one only has to quote BS to discredit BS.
