Her Name is Molly Anne Dutton …

. . . but she almost didn’t have a name, because if not for a woman’s courageous decision, she never even would have had a life:

Auburn University selected its 100th Miss Homecoming in Molly Anne Dutton this weekend. . . .
The 22-year-old’s biological mother was faced with an extremely difficult situation. The victim of a sexual assault, the young woman became pregnant with Dutton and was given an ultimatum by her husband: Either abort the baby or get a divorce.
She chose to keep the baby, leading to a “ridiculously inspirational life story” for her daughter. Rather than aborting, she carried the baby to term and worked with Lifeline Children’s Services, a Christian adoption group in Birmingham, Ala., to ensure that the baby girl was given a good life.

Go read the whole amazing story and try not to cry too much.

  1. Indeed.

You have to understand how hard it is for me to say anything nice about an Auburn student.

Hope my late father will understand.

  2. I’m not one to say much nice about Auburn either.

But attending a game at Jordan-Hare is something everyone should experience.

Who are the Fightin’ Chickens facing this week end? And is the Supper Club still open?

  3. We had a similar speaker a couple of years ago at my church for “Life Sunday” in January: Mother victim of a sexual assault; both she and her husband refused to abort, because of their Christian beliefs. The end result: a beautiful daughter who is now a doctor. Of course, the MSM will never tell any of these stories, because they don’t advance the Death Worship narrative.

  4. Your Bama fixation is one of your few vices (a caveat – that I know of. I’m sure there are many others your wife knows about that I don’t). Not that I’m pro-Auburn, mind you, I do have some taste in these things, and don’t root for squads of ringers bought by big research universities.

  5. Moving and touching story, particularly so given the culture of death that has settled on the US.

The husband was/is a scum bag.

  6. […] For years Auburn and Florida played every October, it was a great rivalry, so during those games, I always hated that other team that wears Blue and Orange. I would even scream “War Chicken” to mock Auburn fans. But following the rules of the SEC, Team First, Conference Second, Game Third, I have always Pulled for Auburn in bowl games, and out of conference games. But, on this story, I am a enthusiastic supporter of Auburn! So is Stacy McCain, and he is a Bama fan! […]

  7. Why is he a scumbag? Who want’s raise a rapist’s child? The ultimatum was completely understandable and any rational woman should of wanted an abortion under those circumstances.

  8. And the moral of this story is what? That women who’ve been raped should be forced to keep the rapist’s spawn by the federal government? What about when he get’s sprung from prison and because he’s a sociopath and likes to play games want’s some kind of visitation rights?

  9. So you want to visit the sins of the father on the child? There’s a guy named Jesus outside with your millstone…

  10. There are just some amazing people in “the loveliest village on the Plains!”

This lady is one of them!

    WarEagle!!!

  11. You mean it is “completely understandable” for a man who promised to love and cherish his wife for “better or worse, till death do us part” should coerce his wife into taking the life of an unborn, innocent child?

And no rational woman can love an innocent child conceived under admittedly terrible circumstances?

You don’t sound very tolerant and you seem to be quite content to IMPOSE your views on others. So exactly what makes you “progressive,” you fascist pig?

  12. Exactly where did the federal government force this woman to do anything?

I thought you “progressives” were for “choice.” I guess that is only when we make the “choice” you approve of…

    Fascist pig!

  13. For goodness sake! I can hardly believe a ‘Bama supporter can string together two consecutive coherent sentences.

Saying something nice about an Auburn student sets you up for canonization!

    War Eagle!

Punt, ‘Bama, Punt!!! (Only the really old folks are likely to know that one so take a refresher course here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punt_Bama_Punt.)

  14. Romantic love is not unconditional, it’s conditional and one of those conditions is I don’t have either care for my wife who has been impregnated by a sociopathic rapist while she carries his child to term or raise his hell spawn. Any rational, self respecting woman would want to drown the embryo, which is all it is when she finds out she’s pregnant due to a rape, in bleach. What kind of women would want to keep a child conceived through a violent assault by some unknown assailant? A pretty pathetic one. You can shove that Christianity/God crap too. No, she certainly has the choice to keep it, it just doesn’t I would stick around if she did because I would consider her not only an idiot and a masochist but completely undignified as well. And an actual fascist calling me a fascist has very little effect.

  15. No, I’m saying what’s the moral of the story? That we should not only ban abortion but rape exceptions too? Yeah, great, let’s just further traumatize an already traumatized women by forcing her under penalty of law to keep a rapist’s child. Yeah, that’s the society I want to live in!

  16. Thanks for revealing your complete and utter self-absorption. Can you spell “narcissist?”

The idea that you understand what a normal, rational human would do under any circumstances.

Any woman attached to you would find her condition vastly improved by widowhood.

    Fascist pig!

  17. Self preservation is narcissism? Ok, then…Jesus Loves YOU! LOL! And if you take a poll of what a woman would want to do if impregnated by a rapist during a violent assault I’m guessing the answer is rip the fetus out and stomp on it by a very wide margin just out of sheer rage alone. Sorry, Bub, but youre in the irrational minority on this one.

  18. Add delusions of relevance and pretensions to sentience to your narcissistic disorder…

Once again, you have no ability to conceive of what a normal, rational person would do in any circumstance.

But, I suspect you do understand sheer, violent rage up close and personal…

  19. That’s just pure, ruthless, clean, perfect instinct, much like when a lion eats the cubs of the former leader of the pride who he’s deposed. The idea of raising a rapist’s child who damaged my wife fills with me with pure revulsion and i would never abide it.
