Say Good-Bye to Old ObamaCare Lies, and Say Hello to New ObamaCare Lies!

When you catch a liar lying, what else do you expect, except a new lie offered as an explanation of the old lie? “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan” — repeated endlessly by Obama during the past three years — is now defunct, so President Blame-Shifter and friends are now trying to say that this falsehood was not their fault.

It was those slutty insurance companies, all tarted up in short skirts, high heels and lipstick, drunk on profit and practically begging to be raped.

Ace of Spades explains what common sense should tell us:

On Megyn Kelly last night, Judge Napolitano pointed out the power of adding Period to the end of most of these vows. When one says “Period,” one means there is no fine print. There are no caveats, conditions, or qualifications. “Period” means that the vow you just heard is self-contained; there is no extraenous material elsewhere you have to check to determine what the promise means.
But that’s exactly what he’s saying “Period” doesn’t mean now. Now he’s claiming “Period” meant — actually, he’s claiming “we” said this, which is a lie — “unless there have been any changes [whatsoever] to your policy.”
Such as $5 increase in your copay to keep pace with rising medical costs. Yes, a $5 change in your copay ungrandfathers your policy. The HHS deliberately wrote these rules to terminate as many policies as possible.

Read the whole thing, because the new lie is in some ways worse than the old lie. The old lie merely insulted our intelligence. The new lie insults our dignity. Basically, this is Obama saying, “Sorry about doing that in your mouth, America.”

Except, of course, he’s not the least bit sorry about it.

Obama has no remorse, because he has no conscience.

He is, after all, a Democrat.

  1. In the way back, when people were gushing about the “keep your insurance if you like it,” crap, I told anyone who would listen, it was a lie. O-care deliberately opened up insurance–which is simply a risk pool–to those with high risk. In order to balance that out, it had to have healthy people in the pool. There are only two places to find such people: the young and those who buy insurance on the open market. By definition these are healthy people without the high risk conditions which increase costs. Consequently, it was inevitable that the private policies would have to go. It is the functional equivalent of opening up all auto insurance to repeat offender drunk drivers. If the high risk people are in your risk pool, your costs will go up.

    Period.

BTW, we’ll see the same thing next year when employers start dumping employees into the exchanges, because the law provides incentives to do so. That is, the fine is less than the cost of coverage. It is designed to force more people into the exchanges at higher costs to offset the high risk applicants. Anyone with the good sense God gave a goat could see this coming a mile off.

  2. Where I come from the saying is, “Anyone with the good sense God gave a mule,” but your point is absolutely correct, and you don’t have to be a genius to ask this question: Who are these people with “pre-existing conditions” who were so adamant that insurance companies must be compelled to provide them coverage?

I’m not stupid, and I hate when someone tries to run a cheap scam like this past me, as if I’m too stupid to understand what’s happening.

  3. In my experience with the health insurance industry as it heretofore existed, one could get coverage for pre-existing conditions. The stipulation was that such conditions would not be covered for a certain period of time, usually 12-24 months. But that was for only very serious conditions. Most ordinary problems like hypertension and so forth were covered. Also, if you had something in your past, but had not had treatment for it for a period of years, you could get covered as well.

It is worth noting, no actuarial data has been published showing the number of or effect of these heretofore “uninsurables” on the system. We were told there were 30-45 million uninsured in this country. Surely, not all of them were health care basket cases. All of these various curiosities argue for this being nothing more than a power and money grab on the part of the Federal government. It is designed to destroy the middle class by siphoning off disposable income in the name of “health care,” in order to funnel that money to cronies and constituents, while at the same time destroying the best health care system in the world.
