The Precocious Feminist Replies

The Ouija-board girl has written a lengthy response including this:

I’m totally with you on the idea that radical feminism is a f–king disease which needs to be eradicated. It’s what gives feminism a bad name and is quite frankly bulls–t. Glad we could find something that we really agree on. However, I’m not a radfem. I don’t think penile-vaginal intercourse is rape. I don’t think men are inherently evil, and I don’t think women are inherently good.

Oh. Then she’s not really a feminist. Yet. On the other hand . . .

For the record, the Ouija board incident which is referenced here wasn’t anything of a demonic nature. The lights didn’t flicker and I didn’t feel a cold force come over me. Wanna know what did happen? The Ouija board said I would f–k a girl, and my friends got uncomfortable. That’s all. . . .
Okay, let’s get something straight right now.

(No pun intended, I’m sure.)

I don’t know what surprise you thought I was referring to (the surprise of the fact the board worked, maybe?) but I was referring to the surprise that I’m bi. So, yeah, my friends were in fact really surprised, because they’re homophobes who are terrified of girls being in love with them. Just wanted to clear that up for ya.

It was clear to me all along. However, I didn’t mention in my blog what the Ouija board said about her, because pursuing that tangent might have required another 500 words I wasn’t in a mood to write. So I merely alluded to it indirectly, remarking that “it is admittedly weird to discover a high school kid writing about ‘heteronormativity.’” Yet she seems to wish to discuss it further. Very well, then . . .

Let’s see: She’s not old enough to get a drivers license, but is already (a) questioning heteronormativity, (b) professing her own bisexuality, and (c) condemning her friends as homophobes.

If she keeps traveling that trajectory, where will she be at 18 or 19? Considering her expressions of disgust with her ex-boyfriend and her resentment of her father, doesn’t it seem possible that her disdain for males might become more generalized in the future?

But wait — this is crazy!

Her self-declared “bisexuality” is purely speculative, a matter of imagination. Her situation illuminates the problem with how young people are now being indoctrinated to think about sex. All this chatter about sexual orientation and gender identity emerging from academia and promulgated in pop culture is profoundly confusing to many young people. A teenage girl whose “sexuality” so far has been limited to some clumsy kissing and fondling with her ex-boyfriend nevertheless identifies as “bisexual” on what we might call a theoretical basis. This identification then qualifies her to denounce her girlfriends as homophobes because they “are terrified of girls being in love with them.”

In that context, isn’t “homophobe” just a synonym for heterosexual?

Given the direction our culture is heading, one can imagine a scenario in which anyone who rejects a homosexual advance — “No, thanks, I’m straight” — is accused of being a homophobe, so that society is effectively divided into two groups: Gays and Haters.

Nor is this a problem we need only imagine in the distant future. We can see how this attitude is already beginning to take hold among teenagers. The precociously “bisexual” feminist at Please Excuse My Vagina may indeed be an omen of the liberal future.

UPDATE: She continues to volley: “Please, don’t put my identity into quotation marks.” The reason I put “bisexual” in quotation marks is because, by her own account, she has not actually acted on her same-sex attractions. Her self-declared “identity” therefore exists in the imaginative realm of Tommy Flanagan’s wife, Morgan Fairchild.

Furthermore, the “B” of bisexuality in the LGBT acronym has always struck me as dubious. One does not encounter militant bisexuals demanding their equal rights to . . . Well, whatever it is they may choose to be or do on any particular occasion.

Indecisive ambiguity doesn’t lend itself very easily to political sloganeering: “We’re here! We’re queer! Or maybe not, this week!”

  1. I suppose it’s possible that a 14 year old could compose some of the things on that blog. Nonetheless, I have my doubts that the creator of those pages is genuine. There’s a sophistication in her prose which is, to say the least, atypical of adolescents. Query whether her blog is an elaborate scam? It wouldn’t be the first time.

  2. As EBL says, a possibility. OTOH, children have been so sexualized and are now being indoctrinated in perversion, that a 14 yo may have acquired some sophistication (if that word can be legitimately used in reference to perversion).

  3. What we’re seeing is a sort of intellectual trickle-down effect. Radical ideas developed in academia take hold in popular culture and are transmitted by the education system to school children. Concepts that were once merely theorized by Ph.D.s are, in a diluted and vulgarized form, made the basis of lifestyle experiments for teenagers. It’s like how Timothy Leary started experimenting with LSD on students at Harvard and MIT in the early 1960s and then, flash-forward about a dozen years, I’m tripping on purple microdot as a high-school junior in Douglas County, Georgia. (Just say no, kids!)

Ideas developed by our intelligentsia operate this way, which is why I took notice when I saw this teenage feminist slinging around a $5 word like “heteronormativity.”

  4. No dispute about children being more aware of adult topics. My suspicion is based solely upon her writing style and not her “message.”

  5. The thought also crossed my mind. The Ouija board scene seems like something from a novel.

On the other hand, if you read her posts in chronological order, the content generally seems like a spontaneous account of personal thoughts and experiences. So I’ll take it at face-value: She is an intellectually precocious high-school student.

  6. It appears that her anxiety and depression inhibit her interest in, or opportunity for, such activity — and thank goodness for anxiety and depression. Otherwise, she might get in real trouble, rather than just sharing her feelings on the Internet.

  7. True story: a very good friend of mine was living in Southern Cal in the 60s-70s raising a gorgeous daughter and a cute stepdaughter. Without getting into all the details of their lives (but they were very well to do), the family new Leary socially. At one point, my friend discovered that Leary had lured her 14 year old daughter and other young teenage girls into, I kid you not, sex orgies and heroin parties. Her daughter eventually died in an unrelated accident, but her stepdaughter struggled with drug abuse for the next 40 years and overdosed a few years a go. To any teenagers reading this: older people who make you feel cool and adult and offer you sex, drugs, or booze are PERVERTS. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

  8. I am asking some honest questions, keeping in mind that she and her friends are 14-15.
    – have these girls ever been to mass? Christian worship?
    – have they ever really studied the Bible? And I mean STUDY, not quote some stuff out of context.
If the answer to these questions is “no,” how can they say that Christianity is wrong? Isn’t that like me never having been to Antarctica, yet telling a guy who goes there every year on scientific expeditions what it’s like?
Doesn’t this bias against Christians make them Christophobes?

  9. And why can’t she make her own choices as long as she accepts the consequences?

It is her life after all.

You think you have a better way? Fine. If she doesn’t accept it, what will you do? Write a strongly worded letter to her parents? Demand that she be thrown in one of those reparative wilderness camps? Hold her at gunpoint for reprogramming?

If she isn’t allowed to make the choice, is it really her choice?

Even if it’s “for her own good?”

This girl wrote some things on a blog. Is she calling for the subjection of all things male? No. Has she committed a crime? No. Has she threatened someone? No.

In your eyes, all she has done is sin by thought. And by the tenants of YOUR faith, you don’t get to judge her for that. You can only forgive.

Can you tell me that you would be a better person if someone else had made your choices for you?

  10. Talk about crazy, she seems to be of a schizophrenic mind as to whether her liberal raised “non-asshole” friends are really just that.

“All my friends like to pretend they’re not homophobic and I think for the most part they’re not. We were all raised by liberal-minded people and (with the exception of me) we’re all just general non-assholes.”

Of course, the implication is that she defines “non-assholes” as brain dead leftists who support the mental illness of homosexuality.

Given her general craziness, her homophilia is probably an expression of her general hatred form normal people and incipient craziness of some sort, of which homosexuality is probably one of the directions she might go.

    Then there is this:

“So, to any of my real-life friends who have the (mis)fortune to be reading this post, please try not to worry that I have a crush on you. You’re probably not my type anyways”

So, add a lot of conceit (she is just too hot for you), she appears to be dabbling in homosexuality just as she dabbles in the occult.

Given also her casual promiscuity: “I see myself as will-make-out-with-and-or-bang-anyone-who-is-attractive-and-willing.”

So, she is pre-promiscuous, she obviously will be one of those girls who sleeps around, but will cry “rape” when the guy does not call her back.

It is clear her problems are very deep, a mentally ill slut with fantasies about death and the willingness to politicize that mental illness.

If she survives, she will be a foot soldier in the war on America.

  11. Nobody is denying her autonomy. To criticize another person’s choice is not to deny them the independence to do as they please.

On the other hand, feminists constantly tell us that all unhappiness and misfortune suffered by women is the fault of our male-dominated patriarchal society. Yet if women make choices that are contrary to the values which they ascribe to patriarchy — if they decide to behave in accordance with feminist ideology — whatever unhappiness and misfortune they suffer as a consequence of those feminist choices cannot be blamed on patriarchy, on “society,” on men.

So — go your own way. Just don’t tell me you aren’t responsible for your own misery.

  12. Don’t think so. But she is just a monkey repeating what she is told. She thinks she is a big “rebel” against her evil father who puts restrictions on her life. Never mind that she is just a small minded person being manipulated. Nothing in her screed was original. She is the typical manipulated teen and too stupid to realize it.

She will be, however, when she reaches college, a victim of game players who will pump and dump her repeatedly.

  13. Judging strictly by the tone of your comments, not to mention what a completely self righteous dick you are, its safe to say you’re getting off writing this stuff, and relish the idea of a young woman suffering for the sin of disagreeing with your ideology. And to repeat myself, only a loser with severe mental problems refers to
a 14 year old girl as a Vagina.

  14. FYI…the reason Stacy McCain doesn’t use your real name in his two posts about you are because you are a minor.

When you read about juveniles in the news, the majority of the time, their names are redacted to protect them and their families.

  15. It’s not my real name. It says right on my about me page that only the first name is real, the last name is a pseudonym.

Actually though, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for explaining.

  16. She does refer to herself as a vagina and she is mentally ill. But she is also a pretentious twit. And you are a closeted Stalinist as well as a closeted homosexual.

  17. I wasn’t going to respond to this because you’re ridiculous, but I am curious—when do I refer to myself as a vagina?

  18. One also has to wonder where her parents are in monitoring the kind of drivel she’s writing, and the websites she is certainly visiting. Of course that’s another big notion pushed by the. Left, uninvolved parents staying uninvolved

  19. My parents are fully aware of everything I write, as are a number of my friends, those friends’ parents, and their family.

If you’re curious about stuff like this, just ask me instead of going off your hunches 🙂

  20. The idea that we are discussing the imaginary, possible, potential sex life of an adolescent person asking us to pardon her vagina has a familiar ring to it. It somehow reminds me of Elliot Rodger’s journal.

  21. I believe the term for “thinks they’re bisexual but haven’t actually tried it yet” is “bi-curious”.

  22. I’ve read her blog too. I don’t think she’s a feminist. I think she’s using the language and ideas she’s been taught to examine the world. I think she’s found that she doesn’t have THE answers.

I also think she’s faced some venomous criticism here and dealt with it much better than I would have at 14. Or 18. Or 25 for that matter. That says much about her character.

I have my own issues with certain third-wave feminists. I absolutely agree with “Just don’t tell me you aren’t responsible for your own misery.”

  23. As a rule, bisexuals are largely invisible, and often disliked by gays and lesbians more than by heterosexuals.

  24. They make terrible partners for both homosexuals, and heterosexuals, and have a tendency to believe that monogamy doesn’t apply to them.

  25. Most children go through a phase of experimenting and sometimes with their same-sex peers, since for many those are the most readily available. This doesn’t define their sexuality and with the passage of time, a dose of positive adult modelling and guidance, most emerge as perfectly normal adults with a healthy (hetero)sexual attitude.

This phase of uncertainty is also where children are the most vulnerable and homosexual advocates know this. Manipulate and mold the child with an unhealthy view of sexuality at this point and you have a recruit for life.

  26. It somehow reminds me of Elliot Rodger’s journal.

The same thought crossed my mind. Again, though, pursuing that thought would have required another 500 words I wasn’t in a mood to write.

  27. Leary’s degeneration is not at all surprising. Which is sad – truly tragic – because there were one or two theories he had that are worth exploring further.

  28. I don’t know. At her age, I was writing quite well when I copied the style of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn [which is why it was, ultimately, derivative and useless writing].

  29. We’re talking about a minor here, a young girl. You’re hatred of her bespeaks of a troubled mind. I would say that the vast majority of us here who have been commenting do not hold one bit of hate for this girl – unlike you. Rather, we are concerned.
