HORROR IN IRAQ: Islamists Order Genital Mutilation for All Females

#YesAllWomen are targeted by Muslims for savage butchery:

Militant group Islamic State has ordered all girls and women in and around Iraq’s northern city of Mosul to undergo female genital mutilation (FGM), the United Nations said today.
The “fatwa” issued by the Sunni Muslim fighters would potentially affect 4 million women and girls, UN resident and humanitarian coordinator in Iraq Jacqueline Badcock told reporters in Geneva by videolink from Arbil. . .
FGM, the partial or total removal of external female genitalia, is a tradition practised widely in many African and Muslim countries and often justified as a means of suppressing a woman’s sexual desire to prevent “immoral” behaviour. Worldwide, more than 130 million girls and women have undergone FGM.

Will American feminists take time away from their servile partisan duties to the Democrat Party to notice this? Probably not.

Feminists don’t care if Muslims amputate little girls’ clitorises. No, feminists save their hate for the real enemy: Republicans.

UPDATE: Now a Memeorandum thread with reports by the BBC and the UK Guardian. Strange to say, the feminist blog Jezebel has actually taken notice of this Muslim atrocity. We’re sure that Amanda Marcotte will write about this predictable butchery in Iraq, just as soon as she can figure out how to blame it on Republicans.

  9. Women in the middle east support it (more often than not) because that is all they have ever known. It was and is relatively widespread in many Arab countries (but certainly not universal).

  10. I doubt all support it or understand the health risks which occur as a result of it. Survival is at stake there and a powerful tool to use oppress people. Many will die from the procedure. When the consequences get too great, they won’t. Iraq has not been under the sharia thumb because Sadam prevented it. He was a thug in other ways.
    The public can only take so much tyranny until it rebels against it. When the price paid to live under tyranny becomes more painful than the price paid to rebel against it, the rebellion will start.

  11. I agree this particular form of Sharia (all of it) will quickly wear thin in Iraq, but Saddam’s brutality was bad too and he managed to stay in power for decades. Of course this is meet the new boss, way worse than the old boss. This makes Game of Thornes depravity seem downright civilized.

  19. Yes, absolutely. They write copious numbers of books about fluffy and ridiculous topics. Seems like one of them could write a book as you suggest; i.e., sharia is incompatible with feminism. You’d think some of those gender studies majors could get some thesis mileage out of this topic, too. But I guess that political correctness towards people who saw off women’s clitorises with broken bottles and without anesthesia takes precedence.

  21. They’ve addressed this, and their attitude is that white American feminists have no right stepping into situations like this or telling women in the third world what to do. They support women’s struggle, but each nation of women has their own struggle and to interfere would in their mind be colonialist, and condescending. Good try though.

  28. We have to understand that these people are stuck, philosophically, in the 7th Century. They have a religiously mandated Honor-Shame culture, wherein the ostensible failure of one member of a family causes shame to the entire clan. These sorts of atrocities are only possible in such cultures, because the prevention of family wide shame is the most important behavioral imperative. Add in Islamic sanction and you get what we’re seeing now.

  50. They think all women are sluts and that they will cheat on them (hence the genitalia mutilation to keep them in line). They do not put 1+1+1 together that tenderness, respect and minimum personal hygiene go along way to making a relationship work.
