    See, this is what I’m talking about. I understand the tendency to conflate “leftist” and “authoritarian” because some of the worst governments in recent history were both, but they’re two distinct axes on politicalcompass.org for a reason. You can be one without the other, and I’m proud of how Ron Wyden has been holding the Orwellian panopticon security state’s feet to the fire, in the grand old left-libertarian tradition.
