Why Do Feminists Hate Beauty?

“The digital armpit that is Tumblr.com seems to be the preferred medium of young feminists who, although they have accomplished nothing and have no credentials, find that they can become Internet Superstars by disparaging men. It seems that the most formulaic, banal and stereotypical derision of males is enormously popular with a certain type of young woman.”
— Robert Stacy McCain, March 12

Exactly why a particularly stupid and rancid type of feminism flourishes on Tumblr is a topic that would require more time than I can afford to put into it today. My wife and I are celebrating our 26th anniversary, and so I’ll spare you my theories about Tumblr feminism. What I want to do instead is to link this Ace of Spades item about a feminist hate-storm against a company’s “Beach Body” ad:

This upset the Social Justice Tumblrinas, who began arguing that Everyone already has a “beach body,” because everyone — well, every woman — already has the perfect body with no need of improvement. (Note that feminists are usually critical of men who could stand to do some pushups.) . . .
Oh, and Protein World called the feminists — many of whom are vandalizing their advertisements, or even threatening to destroy their offices — “terrorists.”

What is it about the celebration of female beauty that angers feminists so much? Gosh, I just can’t imagine what it could be.

  1. Hardly. He equated being Aryan with virtue. Anyone that has lived in Germany is aware of what physical beauty there is in Germans. It’s all over the scale, just as it is here, and was during Hitler’s time.

  2. “Pretty is only skin deep, but ugly goes to the bone,” is a good way of looking at the entire package. Elizabeth Taylor was a pretty woman, but she was ugly as original sin.

  4. Jesus was not for the creation of material wealth

Jesus was a wealthy man. His Pop is owner/propriator of all creation, after all.

Jesus performed miracles: fed the hungry, healed the sick and lame, raised the dead… and people gave him money. He had a ministry and a big ol bag of money and a treasurer (judas; who, of course, stole from the ministry.)

BTW, socialism would work if Jesus was in charge because he can solve both the incentive and knowlege problems. No one else can do that, not even angels.

  5. He wasn’t? So, when he encountered the lame and the blind, and healed them so that they’d be able to work and support themselves, he wasn’t doing it so that they’d have some material wealth?

Tell me, would he have been hanging out with the Baltimore rioters who burned down a home for the elderly? Would ha have been with the Baltimore rioters who were burning and looting businesses?

  6. All that witch burning must have had a massive carbon footprint.

Aaaaannnd… I think we’ve found the cause of the Medieval Warm Period!

  7. Hey! [perks up]. Grant money, did you say? I could write a thesis of dubious value and content if there’s grant money on the table!

  8. Wow, what a nice brother. My brothers would have taken it (if they could find it) and use it on the goats.

  9. Jesus made the points. All I did was quote or paraphrase Him.

Too bad for me, then, that He hadn’t spoken more about what were the topics of my college papers, heh.

  10. I agree with you also. Most men have incredibly easy eyes. I know men who find any woman with a half acceptable personality attractive in some way. Strange. But that’s part of men’s charm. They often work hard to make women feel attractive.

I suppose I will have to now denounce myself to the nearest feminist for my admittance that women enjoy being thought attractive…

  11. To be a ‘Real Man’, you’ll have to be strong and reliable, never show fear, never give up and never complain. To be a ‘Real Woman’, you just have to be a little overweight…
