Oppressive Biology

Feminist Tumblr attracts strange people with strange ideas, which they feel compelled to share with the world. Megan is 20 years old and her Tumblr profile begins by telling your her Myers Briggs personality type: INTP — introversion, intuition, thinking, perceiving. Why do so many Tumblr feminists list their Myers Briggs type? I don’t know. It’s a thing.

Here’s another thing: You have to specify exactly what kind of feminist you are, describe your quirky traits and/or mental disorders, and also your sexuality. So we learn that Megan is an “Anti-porn and Anti-Capitalist Feminist . . . oblivious nerd girl, compulsive procrastinator, straight asexual.” Excuse me, straight asexual?

You almost wish these people would get their Tumblr profiles printed out as T-shirts, to warn away any sane person who might accidentally encounter them in real life. Fluorescent orange or yellow shirts with “TUMBLR FEMINIST” in large black letters on the back, with their Myers Brigg type, sexuality and other relevant information on the front. “INFJ, butch lesbian, intersectional feminist, eating disorders, chronic depression, blogs way too many Taylor Swift photos.”

This system would not only help Tumblr feminists find each other in the real world, but it would also help the rest of us avoid them. You’d be walking through the mall or riding the subway and see one of those T-shirts and know to keep your distance, so as not to have to deal with any of their unpredictable craziness. This system would be especially helpful to young single guys at college. “Oh, she’s a Tumblr Feminist. Better not speak to her or she’ll accuse me of misogynistic harassment.”

Anyway, what drew my attention to Megan’s blog was this:

“Hey, body, I have no interest in producing a child
now or ever, so it’s pretty sadistic of you to
put me through this every month. Thanks.”

Alas, the curse of having a reproductive system when you’re an asexual nerd girl feminist with “no interest” in reproduction!

Darwinian theorists must pause to wonder how it is that evolution could produce so many human beings who lack normal instincts, so that it is all but guaranteed that they will leave behind no descendants. Fortunately, as a Christian, I can find the correct explanation in the Bible.

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools . . .”

  1. Even if you never write anything else, please continue with the feminist tumbler dissections. I love them. Thanks, Rachel.

  2. I have no interest in producing a child now or ever

Give this woman a Nobel Peace Prize, stat! This has got to be the single greatest gift any Tumblr Feminist has ever bestowed upon the human race.

  3. “I have no interest in producing a child now or ever”

    Cool.

Well, I suggest you get your tubes tied. No more worries for you, and we pro-lifers won’t be bitching about the abortions you’ll be having (since you’ll no longer need them). Naturally, we may look askance at you for voluntarily sterilizing yourself, but really, who cares about that?

Now, if it’s the cycles that upset you, a partial hysterectomy might solve your problems (of course, there’s a hormonal imbalance caused by, in effect, kick starting menopause, but hey, no more monthly issues).

Good Lord, what a collection of narcissistic nut jobs.

  4. Honestly, that monthly thing proves that biology is sort of like a honey badger… whatever you think? honey badger don’t care.

It’s a pseudo-cult. It provides a fake sense of belonging and acceptance at the low low price of turning off your brain and believing whatever you’re told. (Of course, if you ever violate one of the group’s arcane strictures, they will turn on you in a heartbeat.)

Why do so many Tumblr feminists list their Myers Briggs type? I don’t know. It’s a thing.

It’s right there in the title of one of the more popular books on it: Please Understand Me. When they list their type, it’s an implicit plea from someone who’s weird and knows it.

    Excuse me, straight asexual?

Since “heterosexual” would (as you infer) be meaningless, “straight” means that — like most asexuals and bisexuals — she’s heteroromantic. You see, with sexuality and relationships all being so complicated and unique these days — like snowflakes! — people have had to invent new terms and concepts to distinguish between what they do with their genitals, and what they do with their hearts. I’m surprised she didn’t specify whether she’s mono- or polyromantic (albeit obviously nonamorous).

  6. It is called natural selection.

    Megan has no offspring.

Her genes are not in the next generation.

When she dies, her family is over.

  7. Of course, at 20, she knows about as much about what she will really do with her life as I did when I was 20, which is to say: not much.

She’s rather plain looking, but not some hideous beast, so I can see that at least some heterosexual males might be interested in copulating with this “straight asexual,” were only she interested in copulation herself, but who knows, maybe the same hormones which impose nature’s sadism on her might one day cause her loins to quiver at the sight of some studly dude. Said studly dude, knowing that she is uninterested in the reproductive aspects of coitus, might be passingly interested.

  8. But, there is at least some intellectual progress here: she blamed her own biology for her monthly cycles, rather than the patriarchy!

  9. Not only lacking in instincts but compulsive sociopaths. Gee, I wonder if there’s some connection there? I also wonder if young girls are being medicated for being young girls in the same way young boys are being medicated for being young boys. How does such a population emerge? Is this an exaggerated effect of a thing that’s always been there because nobody from nowhere now has a voice on the net? A few decades ago everyone in media was vetted with a byline

  10. I have no interest in producing a child now or ever…

    ——–

Yes, “curse” indeed. This is the prevailing attitude within our Public Schools Indoctrination Centers and has been discussed many times here at TOM. I prefer to view it in light of Luke 23: 27-30, words which Our Lord spoke on the way to His crucifixion

[27] And there followed him a great multitude of people, and of women, who bewailed and lamented him. [28] But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves, and for your children. [29] For behold, the days shall come, wherein they will say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the paps that have not given suck. [30] Then shall they begin to say to the mountains: Fall upon us; and to the hills: Cover us.

  11. What has been seen and heard can not be unseen and unheard. There is a type of brain bleach, but lead has some horrific side effects and leaves a mess for someone else to clean up.

  12. As have I. But, looking closely at her picture, I detect a woman wearing makeup: eye shadow and lip gloss. How is it that an asexual woman who hates Teh Evil Patriarchy is using cosmetics?

  13. Yes. You see, cosmetics weren’t invented by the evil patriarchy and, therefore, are de rigueur for feministas. She may need to gain another 20 pounds or so to be fully accepted, however.

  14. The reason the Myers-Briggs is popular is that it is most commonly taught in psychology 101 as an introduction to how psychological sorting can occur. As well it seems scientific and appears to be backed up by a bunch of scientific research (sort of like most other social philosophy ideas) that is approved and sorted by folks within the community of Myers-Briggs but don’t show ties to (sort of like most political philosophy folks that have co-opted science-based reality).

The way it’s taught (since I an going to college right now and took a Psych 101 recently for my degree) is that this questionaire and sorting will give you a real feel on your personality and who you most click with or don’t click with. However, as my professor explained that it has thrown away the whole Id, ego, super ego concepts as well as a slew of other stuff that are important for psychology and was successful and replaced it with some computer based “Cosmo magazine like score and that it’s as accurate about personality as knowing your astrology sign”. Which is funny in talking about fems, RadFem and thier poor social construction of life. Since there are a number of these folks who believe in black magic, astrology and then attempt to use real science like it’s PFM to explain why the world owes them a living. For those that don’t know PFM term is also knows as the big red button of “I believe” or “Pure F****ing Magic”.

So the long of the short is that Myers-Briggs is fun to knowone your Chinese or Zodiac astrology sign but is accurate for most people less that 1% of the total population.

PS. Oh and Myers-Biggs personality sorting really took off for a while in the early half of the 21st century in the business world. There were some hucksters who sold Myers-Briggs as how to best scientific research to setup and run an office. That big fortune 500 companies were using it to hire folks and organize work groups. It was the fade of the decade along with Six Sigma and Lean. The problem is that folks who looked at the science honestly like some real engineers saw that there was issues and conflicts with the research that again is fun but not important. However, a number of folks who lap at the puddle of science, took it in like a bunch of other bad ideas with weak science (again any social philosophy concept like how many kids who wear dresses are really Trans and need hormones or that early pre-K education creates certified super geniuses). They haven’t read further and seen the flaws in the theory or ignore the reported flaws.

  15. Tumblr is a weird name. Is it referring to a type of drink glass, or an acrobat? I don’t think so. And every time I read about it here and it’s association with Feminist and LGBTQXYZ wierdness, that annoying 80’s tune “I’ll tumble for you” by the original gender bender, the British Transvestite Rastafarian Hasid, “Boy George” begins playing in my head. Well I looked up “tumble” on Urban Dictionary, and apparently it is a primarily Brit euphemism for numerous sexual practices, some normal and hetero, others anything but…hmmm.

  16. Since she’s “asexual”, can we assume that she WON’T be following in Emma Sulkowicz’s footsteps, hooking up with a guy, then deciding months later that it was really rape?

At any rate, we ought to applaud her decision to be “asexual”. She’s twenty and – I assume – unmarried. Sex is something she OUGHT to be avoiding.

As for not wanting a child… Meh. I’d say that many people feel that way until The Day comes when some switch is thrown and they determine that having a child might not be the worst thing in the world. Certainly it was so with me and my wife. It may well be that, if we catch up with young Megan in a few years, she’ll be happily married and dandling a fine son or daughter on her knee while looking forward to another. I hope so. I hope that she doesn’t live a life of self-inflicted misery and ever-growing resentment of those people of both sexes who manage to be happy and well-adjusted.

  17. At 20, I didn’t want kids, either.

At 30, my wife swore she’d never have them. She didn’t change her mind until her mid-30s.

    Then it changed, big time.

  18. “…can we assume….”
C’mon now! You should know better than that. For the asexual, just looking is rape rape.

  19. Some evil capitalists are feministas. The glass ceiling has long been broken. Let’s catch up here.

  20. Feminists are correct that society values women for the ability to bear children, but feminists think women should be valued for other things first.
The problem is, women can be as accomplished as they like but if they don’t have children, society dies out. You will have a few of the most accomplished generations in history, shortly before extinction.
A lot of feminism is rejection of biological truth, because women find it inconvenient. The “theories” are rationalizations to escape reality.

  21. I’m reminded of the Law of Chinese Relativity:

No matter how triumphant your successes or how ignominious your failures, a billion Chinese don’t give a damn.

  22. Or, to put it bluntly, and really blow their gaskets — society doesn’t *need* women “writers” or lawyers, it needs wives-and-mothers.

  23. Utterly amazing how leftists are angry at nature for gender, reproduction and menstruation… and yet they think there’s some perfect temperature for every location on every day of the year and if we have wavered from that then it’s our fault and Gaia is angry!

  24. Her thoughts carry on in our educational system.

It’s as if she impregnated a million minds.

    This is far worse.

  25. And the weirdest part is that homemakers usually come out on top in terms of satisfaction with their vocation in surveys I’ve read. Accomplishment comes with a heavy price.

  26. It’s like the troll we were talking to the other day. She just really couldn’t accept that men are physically stronger as measured in upper body strength. The saddest part was the entire conversation with a “feminist” waa centered on what women couldn’t do, rather than our unique gifts.

  27. I’m sure if she really meant that, that she could find some willing Planned Parenthood sponsored surgeon who could correct that for her for all time.

A hysterectomy would solve all of hers (and our) problems/concerns.

But somehow she doesn’t feel the urge.

Maybe she’s saving that womb for later for some subconscious reason.

I used to get concerned about spontaneous erections during school hours but for some reason never considered it to be something I was being cursed with.

At least she can plot the days during which she’s at hazard and it’s pretty much not as intrusive/noticeable to the rest of the world.

  28. Oh! I can answer that! The reasons women wear makeup have little to do with men unless they’re wearing streetwalker makeup. It’s either for yourself, because you think it makes you look more presentable or hides a flaw OR it’s to make a point to other women, namely, that they should hate you because you’re beautiful.

Of course, I never wear it, because I’m naturally beautiful, of course. Hahahaha!

  29. Men don’t always believe it, but women do in fact dress for other women, even if just themselves. That’s why women get so upset at floozy type clothing/make-up, especially if it’s clearly super uncomfortable. Those women are “cheating” and dressing entirely for men. Us women are weird. 😉

  30. I’m old enough to recall the days when if one wanted to know if a woman’s loins were “quivering”, he had to listen!

  31. Wimyn are allowed to change their mind and women. I would, in fact, encourage such a change.
