The Feminist Fear Factor

Feminists @JaclynF, @PennyRed, @AmandaMarcotte know you fear them!

The blogger at Dark Brightness has a post describing the “politicization of phobia” as a Nigerian email scam. He links me — thanks! — and also links Vox Day quoting Jack Donovan:

Progressives only have one good trick, and men keep falling for it.
They keep calling you a coward, so that you’ll do or say whatever they want to prove that you are not a coward.
If they want you to accept a group of outsiders, they call you a xenophobe to dismiss any rational concerns you might have about the motivations of strangers. . . .
If you reject any demand made by any woman, you’re “just afraid of a strong woman.” This accusation has been repeated so many times that a substantial portion of the population actually seems to believe that men are at the very core of their being constitutionally terrified by any woman with “attitude.” . . .

You can read the whole thing. The claim that critics of feminism are afraid of “strong women” is as easy to disprove as this: Have you ever met my wife? Or, have you ever seen my wife angry? Trust me, you don’t want to see her angry. Yet my wife is also cheerful, kind-hearted and generous, whereas feminists are resentful, cruel and selfish — they are simply bad people, which is why everybody hates feminism. It is a shabby hustle, a three-card monte game, for unhappy women to claim that their anti-social personality traits are actually virtues.

Feminists routinely engage in moral reversals, psychological projections, and self-serving rationalizations. The woman whose hostile, domineering, my-way-or-the-highway attitude makes her unpopular — she had few friends in childhood and, as an adult, is often alienated from her parents and siblings — resorts to the flattering rationalization that she is “strong,” and that others are envious or fearful of her strength. Similarly, a feminist will rationalize her promiscuity as “empowering” and claim that anyone who disapproves of such whorishness is envious or fearful of women’s sexual power. Perhaps the greatest of these fraudulent tropes, however, is the feminist’s claim that her membership in an identity-politics groupthink mob — the True Believer in a Mass Movement rigidly defined by a collectivist ideology — proves how independent-minded she is! What is most insulting about feminist tactics (which very much resemble DARVO Syndrome) is their arrogant assumption that the rest of us are so stupid we can’t see through their bogus intellectual three-card monte hustle.

An experimental suggestion: Go on Twitter and send a link to this post to a prominent feminist — Jaclyn Friedman, Laurie Penny, Amanda Marcotte, et al. — and ask her to respond to it. Does she deny that the feminist movement is a three-card monte hustle wherein unhappy women use reversals, projections and rationalizations to explain their own misery, to justify their own anti-social traits and to excuse their own failures by shifting blame to others? In other words, impugn her motives, just as feminists do to their critics — whom they invariably accuse of “misogyny” and other such Thought Crimes — and see if she is willing and able to defend herself against accusations of intellectual fraud.

Good luck with your experiment. After the feminist blocks you on Twitter, you might try logging out of your account and checking her timeline to see if she’s complaining about “harassment,” which is a feminist synonym for criticism. Feminism is always a lecture and never a dialogue. The feminist is a totalitarian, who is never willing to debate her critics, but instead always seeks to silence her critics.

It is entirely rational to fear feminism, as anyone must fear the sound of jackboots marching through streets covered in broken glass.

Opposition to feminism is not a result of ignorance, but of knowledge, arising not from an irrational “phobia,” but from an understanding of what deceitful monsters feminists truly are.

  1. Building your identity around anything other than Christ is destructive. Because any identity outside of Him will only serve to isolate you from your brothers and sisters in the human race. I am not my femaleness. I am not my Caucasian skin. I am not my heterosexuality. Those things are a part of who I am, they in themselves are not who I am.

  2. Feminists routinely engage in moral reversals, psychological projections, and self-serving rationalizations.

All true with any self-defined Progressive/Leftist/Grievance group. I would add to that list “psychological displacement.” Feminism turns its laser focus on such things which truly are microaggressions, if they are aggressions at all, i.e. the redefinition of “rape” on American college campuses, to avoid confronting the truly frightening behaviors of radical Islam for example and its physical and mental subjugation of women which Western women cannot imagine.

This is nothing new: during the seventies, when I was at the University of Kentucky, it seemed as though everybody was busy proving how independent-minded he was by wearing long hair and hippie beads. The notion that being counter-cultural was a culture in itself when it had that many adherents never seemed to occur to anyone.

  4. Strong women, and strong men as well, don’t need to tell you how strong they are; if you are a strong person, other people simply know it.

  5. Stacy doesn’t repeat his previously-published question about Ms. Marcotte, but I will —

Q: What’s the best way to demonstrate that Amanda Marcotte is a blithering idiot?

    A: Quote her.

  6. Feminists are indeed a sub-set of the progressive/leftist/grievance universe. Their stratagems are the same: since they have no answers for the truly difficult issues that confront us, they have to deflect us to other issues.

Quick, on a scale of 1 to 1,000,000, rank these two aggressions —

    1) a man holding a door open for a woman.

    2) a forced clitoridectomy with a rusty pair of scissors, without anesthesia, on a pre-teen girl in South Sudan.

Any sensible person can rank those two aggressions appropriately. Any feminist will scream, cover her ears, deflect, and/or attack you to avoid having to provide a relative ranking between the two.

Feminists have no answer for the latter other than “it’s wrong” (thanks for that). They have no answer for the forced subjugation of women in the Arab world, or for the selective abortion of girl fetuses in India and China, or the pervasive sexism in the Latin world. So they focus on “man-spreading”.

It’s deflection. Every time you see it you know that the person doing the deflecting doesn’t have any answers to the real problems of the world.

  7. That’s Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s indictment of Western Feminism in a nutshell, which is why she’s hated by western feminists.

  8. The typical scam in the literary community is similar. If you oppose the new diversity and are a white straight male, you fear losing the centrality and catering to your race and sex you are accustomed to.

The truth is more like “diversity” veers from a racist bigoted supremacist movement to one of phony reasons for affirmative action. The usual reasons given is that women, non-whites and gays have been “marginalized” and “excluded” due to white male heterosexual supremacy, which is a bald-faced lie.

So one is a white male supremacist both before and after the fact. It is the typical Orwellian black hole of a circular argument one has come to expect of ill-bred and unsophisticated hypocrites.

Editors would have no way of knowing whether a story sent into a magazine were from a non-white, woman or gay person. Alice Sheldon pranked SF editors for years by submitting stories as a man named James Tiptree, Jr. Had there been this great upwelling of gays, women and non-whites clamoring to enter SF there is no reason they wouldn’t have resorted to something similar. In any event SF editors have known the true identities of women they published for over 100 years; there just weren’t that many of them, which is the true story, not ideological racial supremacy and patriarchy. Bigots typically use such random demographic spikes to “prove” discrimination.

  9. … I am not my femaleness. I am not my Caucasian skin. I am not my heterosexuality.

Yet what are the “gay pride” events about? Perverted Sex, nothing but Perverted Sex as if there’s nothing else that they bring to the table except Dionysian intoxication, and for some this may be true. And what’s worse they’re supposed to have assumed the mantle of the Civil rights Movement.

Feminism as well as other identity politics and grievance movements serve to atomize society by setting these artificially created groups against one another, Mencken but it more eloquently…

  10. Furthermore, I define a strong man or woman as someone who quietly lifts others up when they are laid low, not someone who knocks them down.

And feminism only seeks to knock others down with a one-two combo punch of idiocy and piehole flapping.

  11. Feminists constantly tell each other that some man or other is “afraid of strong women”. I’m not sure they actually believe what they are saying, sometimes. They’ve started to live & breathe rhetoric. The argument must be won – rather like a barrister putting the best case.

Some of them really will fight for women in every case.

Anyway, I always thought that “strong personality” was a euphemism for “difficult to get on with” – and this probably goes for “strong women” too

  12. Never forget that Amanda Marcotte was fired from the 2008 John Edwards presidential campaign for unbelievable crass and stupidity.

  13. The reason Johnny Carson was such an excellent Tonight Show host was: he never hogged the spotlight, and he made his guests look good.

  14. And then you had McMahan, who laughed at every joke no matter how lame, and amiably agreed with everyone. I wish my employees were more like Ed, come to think of it.

  15. Oh for crying out loud. Pirelli must be taking crap from…let’s just say…some questionable executive hires or something. Annie Leibovitz? Seriously? Who in their right mind (which excuses feminists right there) would hire Annie Leibovitz to shoot a nudie calendar unless it involves underage children or some other inappropriate subjects? She’s a total Illuminati whore, and everybody knows it.

Moe calls it right when he says it’s the end of the Pirelli calendar now.

  16. Dad moonlighted as a classical DJ. He also had access to old time radio shows before they started selling them on cassette.

I was also seriously impressed by George Burns. Burns called Benny one of the best straight men who ever lived.

And I think there was an interview where Carson said that with Jack Benny there wouldn’t be a Johnny Carson.

  17. I thought it was hilarious that they were trying to prove their individualism by complying with the standards of a bunch of idiots.

  18. Wow, shave Jaclyn’s head, and you’d get the female Three Stooges revival nobody ever wanted.

I wonder if Amanda can play the violin?

  19. But we shouldn’t be different or at least we should only be different from those yahoos who don’t understand the nuances of modernity. Beyond that we should all be individuals who think and act alike. Have I got that right?

  20. I don’t think of women who refuse debate and support lady-bug-on-the-arm PTSD reactions to literature to be strong women, but idiots. Only in Laurie Penny’s mind is she a strong woman. She is an extremely unsophisticated mini-Huey Long. In fact “strong” doesn’t even enter into it, being neither here nor there; it’s a straw man feminists have made up in their heads. Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey just set records for the UFC in MMA and everyone had fun watching the bout, including me. I’ve been following both since the beginning.

We love women. We do not fear them.

  21. Right. My tattoo of Chinese figures which says, “Try the dim sum at Wangs” is on my left butt cheek, whereas the regressive conformists all have their tattoos of Chinese figures which say “Try the dim sum at Li’s” are on their conformist right butt cheeks.

  22. Yes, “strong” is just a synonym for “unpleasant,” which they’re unaccountably proud of. They don’t actually understand what makes men leaders.

Thesis: feminism is a cargo cult of masculinity.

  23. Back in the day, early to mid sixties, we used to go watch the Lady Midget Wrestlers. They would be on the same ticket as Andre the Giànt back before wrestling became the big business it is today…that and Roller Derby.

  24. One can make the same analogy for homosexuals: Refusing to bake a cake for their weddings vs throwing them off of buildings.

  25. Heres a classic example, fresh today, of a “fierce independent strong woman who (cant get) dont need no man”…

It difficult to contain the hypocracy levels at play here so ill point you towards tim blairs post on the slut in question.

Heres a soft sympathetic piece from a left leaning news-site.

    http://www.smh.com.au/national/hotel-worker-michael-nolan-sacked-over-facebook-post-to-clementine-ford-20151130-glc1y4.html#ixzz3t2iGmp7X

“The Meriton Group confirmed that Michael Nolan was no longer employed by the company, after he labelled Ford a “slut” when she spoke out publicly against misogyny and online harassment.

Ford, a weekly columnist for Daily Life, made a number of posts on her Facebook page on White Ribbon Day, which aims to prevent men’s violence against women, in which she highlighted recent examples of online harassment she had received.”

    Why was he sacked??

“…On his Facebook profile, Mr Nolan listed that he was a supervisor at Meriton Apartments, prompting Ford to tag the Meriton Group on Facebook and query whether they were aware that one of their employees was making such degrading comments.

She also took screenshots of a number of Mr Nolan’s public Facebook posts, including racist and offensive jokes.

In a statement sent to Ford, Meriton Group said: “Meriton Group have now investigated the matter relating to the complaint made about Michael Nolan using inappropriate language on Facebook.

“Meriton Group does not condone this type of behaviour. Michael Nolan was removed from the Meriton site on Saturday 28th November pending an investigation, and as of 2:30pm today 30th November 2015, he no longer works for the Meriton Group.”….

    Her background?
Shes a columnist for a major newspaper who also appears on out state funded broadcaster.

She sold T-Shirts while our last PM was in the job with “Tony Abbott is a C**T” (without the censored bits)

“.Ford has previously called Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine a “f**king c**t”and wrote of Iranian-born Rita Panahi: “No matter how hard she tries, she’ll never be a white man.”..

    …

..”Yesterday she alerted – in a now-deleted post – JB Hi-Fi to the use of “slut” by one of the company’s staffers. Following criticism, Ford responded:

Who said anything about firing him? It’s up to JB what they do. Perhaps they just need to tighten their social media policy.”..

    Disgusting she-sow.

  26. That’s brilliant. I’m going to have to use it. It’s so pithy, so exquisitely insulting, and so true.

  27. Thanks for the linkage. Can your fans please make the meme go viral. *phobia == Mrs Wantabe from Nigeria saying you have 10 million waiting but she needs 5 K now…

  28. Because they aren’t really strong.

Their “power” depends on the guilt and pity of others.

A really strong woman would say something like “That’s nice dear,” push the pretenders to the side, do what needs to be done, and then organize a party to celebrate afterwards.

I am a subscriber to the “aunts & grandmothers” theory of history.

  29. Now, now, if there ’tweren’t any internet, she’d have had to survive on whatever she could make off an English degree in Texas, which is to say that she’d be working at Popeye’s Fried Chicken and be eligible for food stamps.

At least this way, we aren’t having to support her!
