9/11: Never Forget

Posted on | September 11, 2010 | 41 Comments

Thanks to Big Fur Hat  for reminding us of this 70-minute documentary:

UPDATE: Joe at Valley of the Shadows reminds us how on 9/11/01, “At 8:46 AM, the world shifted on its axis.”

UPDATE II: Statement from Georgia 12th District congressional candidate Ray McKinney:

Nine years ago today, I turned on my television while getting ready for work, and the first thing I saw was smoke billowing from the World Trade Center. I learned that a jetliner had plowed into the building, and at that moment I knew we were at war. After three more jetliners crashed — one in the other trade tower, one into the Pentagon, and one into a field in Pennsylvania — 3,000 people died at the hands of Islamic terrorists. From Augusta to Savannah, Milledgeville to Vidalia to Statesboro — all of our families were attacked — and America changed forever on that day. Today, I join with the rest of the nation in honoring those who died that day and those who risked their lives to rescue people from the wreckage. And I honor the millions of Americans of all occupations, ethnic groups, religions, and political beliefs who responded to the attacks not with hatred, but with unity, turning to each other by showing acts of kindness. Unfortunately, nine years later, our nation is bitterly divided. But I have confidence that the American people can and will once again work together to get our country back on track.

UPDATE III: Never forget that, on 9/10/2001, feminists were insisting that the Pentagon devote its attention to a crucial nation-security issue:

After briefings from representatives of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard,  [the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services] . . . issued a formal request for more information on what they deemed a matter of paramount military significance: breast-feeding.
As the terrorists prepared to hit the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon itself, our military leaders were directed “to engage in open dialogue” on lactation tactics.

UPDATE IV: Two very different headlines today:

Muslim Prayer Room Was Part of Life at Twin Towers
New York Times

One block between Ground Zero mosque and human remains
New York Post

Via Memeorandum.

UPDATE V: Ace of Spades laments:

[The media] tends to sanitize things like this, to gloss it over as if it’s some abstract thing that happened in ancient history: “And we musn’t get those rednecks all flustered about these things … we must provide the filter and nuance since they don’t understand the subtleties of the matter. There are two sides to this story and both are equally valid. We must provide the narrative”

In other words, these journalists are not content to tell you what happened, but feel compelled to tell it in such a way as to condition your reaction — an effort to signal how you should feel about what happened.

You know, Russia never had a truly communist nor socialist regime, the same goes for China. And the US is one of the cases of gangster speculation with taxpayers’ money instead of capitalism.

Coughing up the debt, those gangsters pass on to “the future”, will be a matter of generations and what makes it worse is that the gangsters in charge are adding to that debt if just by increasing the pork barrel budget for death and destruction, euphemistically called “defense”.

It’s always useful to remember the series of malfunctions that led to this debacle.
The Terry McDermott story in the New Yorker [“know thine enemy”] about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is key because this nihilist who can’t even speak good Arabic himself confesses that he clearly was motivated to commit the 911 debacle because of the way, among other absurdities, the US didn’t defend Muslims in Bosnia. Huh?

The UNITED NATIONS was responsible for Srebenice, and other eff-ups that unconsciously abetted the Serbian Black Hand militants in Bosnia, not the USA. Indeed, in Kosovo, the US & NATO did an undeclared attack on Serbia opposed by Russia to free Muslims from the Christian grip. KSM also bragged about personally cutting off Daniel Pearl’s head. What a mensch!

And of course, Janet Swamp-Thing and her Political Commissar Jamie Gorelick diligently built up a firewall between the FBI & CIA & NSA to weaken our defenses, because no one would attack the US with Billy Jeff as POTUS!

These degenerate murderers with the support of tens of millions of equally stupid uninformed morons in the Muslim world simply are fools and thugs, and the Islamic world they live in does nothing to stop them, and by sufferance, helps them to achieve their grisly goals. KSM & his nephew Ramzi Yusuf simply had vivid imaginations and minds stuffed with hatred and garbage. They attacked the US because, as KSM admits, it was an “easier target” than Israel. Cowards and drunks and ladies men, KAM & RY hAd enough engineering knowhow to kill thousands of innocent people on and with planes.

As I am an Arabist [State Dept tested 4-4] who has lived among these rich savages for a decade, I recognize degenerate “engineers” like Ramzi, who were aided and abetted by PC US judges who released Ramzi Yusuf on his own “cognizance” in ’92 when he arrived in NYC without a passport or papers, and he within weeks got a crew together from the Newark Muslim degenerate pool of circumcised morons, bought equipment and assembled a truck bomb in SIX WEEKS, and was out of the country when the WTC blew.

I wonder where that moron judge is now? Probably working to justify gay marriages. Certainly, the judicial class in the USA at that level is as corrupt and degenerate as the bought-off judiciaries of Italy, Mexico, and dozens of other countries where as an FSO, I have seen the law employed in totally unaccountable ways by stupid corrupt ignorant judges.

Nine years ago, I called up my mother, who was a lifelong New Yorker until (at that time) three years prior. I’ll never forget the sound of her voice as she screamed in agony for her lost friends – five in total – as she watched them burn on national television, knowing that Cantor Fitz was in that hellish cloud of billowing smoke. My boss’ neighbour was on one of those planes that went out of Logan. My godmother’s brother-in-law died in that inferno, and her husband watched his brother being crushed to death by millions of tonnes of building.

I’ll also never forget the utter fear we all felt as the planes kept hitting things – that feeling of wondering if and when it would stop.

What irks me is this ridiculous, misplaced sense of “decency”. No, gore isn’t good, but what happened that day was horrible. We all walk through the Holocaust Museum when we are in DC, see the pictures of the emaciated people, hear the recordings of the survivor’s tales, see the hair the Nazis cut off their victims, and know that it’s not gore for gore’s sake, but it is an accurate depiction of reality.

That doesn’t happen here; the American media seems determined to sanitise that day. They don’t show pictures of people jumping out of the building, spending ten horrible seconds falling to their deaths, nor do they play the 9-1-1 calls, talk about how people had small body parts of departed family mailed to them, how a lot of people never got their families’ bodies back. They talk about “healing” and “tolerance”, though, until I want to throw up. They talk about “man-made disasters” and reserve the label of “terrorists” for pro-lifers and tea-partiers – a feat that would be ridiculous if not for the efforts to make people forget how horrible that day was.

Get a life away from your computer, pull your head out of your lower extremity and take a good deep breath of fresh air and say hi to God once and a while and please do unto others as you would have done unto yourself…
