Hi, I have been systematically barred from going to university because I had to withdraw from classes when I was mentally ill and untreated. I was schizophrenic and have borderline personality disorder, I didn’t know either of these things while I was at school, on top of that I was suffering from a kidney stone that was quite large, that also wasn’t diagnosed at the time so I didn’t know what the pain was from, and then my grandparents who uplifted me and helped raise me died within a month of each other:
so i was grieving, very mentally ill, and in a lot of pain. I could not finish the term of university, and by withdrawing they told me I owed them 12,590 dollars, I desperately want to go back to university, because I want to help contribute to society, currently I’m on SSI [disability money in the united states] and am not qualified to work any job without an education, its too physically and mentally demanding on me.
I am trying to raise $1000 dollars a month every month until I pay this off, so I can fulfill my dream of going back to school and contributing to my community in ways that I physically and mentally can. My dream is to become a professor, as well as learn how to make a charity for people of the internet in need, but cannot access funds because they can’t get enough support due to their lack of visibility.

Wonderful. You’re a schizophrenic with borderline personality disorder who is on federal disability for your mental illness and — this is scary — your “dream is to become a professor,” because obviously we don’t have enough lunatics teaching young people at our nation’s universities.

By the way, this kook who owes more than $12,000 was evidently enrolled at Oregon State University. While the mentally ill blogger doesn’t mention a major, Oregon State does have a Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, and insanity is more or less a prerequisite.
