Looking Forward To GBTV

Gabby Hoffman on Twitter tipped me to her Washington Times review of the Glenn Beck TV launch:

Do you miss Glenn Beck, his chalkboard, and his Fox News show? Want the latest from Beck and Mercury Radio Arts? Fear not: conservative commentator and radio talk show host Glenn Beck is coming to a computer near you! Launching GBTV on September 12, 2011 the show’s tagline is “The Truth Lives Here”.

Accordingly, the conservative commentator’s television network promises to be unlike any other and the first episode of “The Glenn Beck Show” under the GBTV banner was impressive.

Since leaving Fox News Channel in June, Beck has worked tirelessly to produce high-quality material to viewers and subscribers. The quality of production was impeccable, as there were no glitches or problems viewing the show.

Pay attention, conservatives who have brushed off Beck, due to his Boehner-esque commitment to facial flooding on Fox: Beck’s research is quality stuff, and his audience has reach.

For example, I had sent the link to GBTV to my father, who’s Luddism exceeds even the legendary aversion to technology embodied in Robert Stacy McCain, and father allowed that, if I spot him a subscription, he’ll watch. Father digs him some Beck. So, when I get back to reality later this month, I’ll be signing up.

If my dad is a representative sample, then Glenn Beck may be a gateway drug to Glenn Reynolds. And you know what they say: once you go Instapun’, there’s no end to the fun.

Also, a review of the first hour of GBTV at Bride of Rove.

You’re right about his research being quality stuff.  I think people like him because they trust him to tell the truth.   My husband and I listened to “Arguing with Idiots” in the car while on a trip.   It was probably a better history lesson than any we’d get in a school.  Same with the blogs I read.
