Don’t Forget To Thank ObamaCare For Further Societal Collapse

Via Insty, we have Chateau Heartiste

Men don’t “treat women as toys”. Men get the sex while the getting’s good because women allow — nay, PREFER — themselves to be toyed with by the kinds of men who are good at it.
In other words, Mr. Bennett, women GET EXACTLY THE KINDS OF MEN they deserve. Even more dispiriting to your conception of the universe, women get the men they WANT.

Now, for a quick bit of Google, knowing that the buried details may be for better or worse, consider, emphasis mine:

The first sort of marriage penalties affects low- and middle-income couples who would get their insurance without employer assistance but with government subsidies. The penalties accrue through the “caps” on premiums. In the House plan, an unmarried couple living together with each earning $25,000 would pay no more than $3,076 in combined premiums each year. If the same couple got married, their annual cap would skyrocket to $5,160 – a 68 percent punishment just for saying “I do.” (The penalty in the Senate bill is slightly lower, at 48 percent.)

Now, if you’re a serious SoCon, you know that your marriage is a religious expression of destiny in your life. A government mugging for the privilege of the sacrement is just another brick in pharaoh’s pyramid.

Too, if you think that marriage is something the government should regulate, then maybe families need to pay more, as they could lead to children, which are not cheap, if The World’s Youngest Bloggers bills are indicative. And he’s a stout lad.

No, the real point to be garnered here is that the federal government Has. Precisely. Zero. Validity. In. Doing. This.

Marriage is not an interstate consideration, but tampering therewith, and offering significant financial savings for shacking up, is going to increase shacking up dramatically among those for whom marriage is not the biggest religious issue.

I guess if your goals are to destabilize American society, so that there is increased demand for social workers, this may all be part of the plan. We’ll probably get more blog posts bemoaning the fact that the boys, lacking married fathers in a family setting, no longer recall how to be men.

My lovely wife, http://phoebe53.wordpress.com , harps on this all the time, about marriage being none of the government’s business.

Historically, marriage licenses were instituted to stop interracial marriages. So in essence, marriage licenses were just another Democrat ploy to keep the Black man in his or her place.

    Money Quote:

But if you want a fighting chance to return religion to some honorable place in society, and to have men return to the fold, the constant, sanctimonious drumbeat of chiding men to behave must stop, and be replaced with sermons that take into account the fallen nature of women. Remember, women WANT to be led.

There’s already a ton of blog posts and MSM articles on the lack of fathers in broken homes. What’s interesting is that you’re starting to see more blacks taking the Great Society’s welfare programs to task as essentially destructive of poor folks’ incentives to marry and give the kids a stable environment to grow up and prosper in.

I doubt that Steve was concerned about stomachs.  Or, if he was, only in passing.  As in “passing over during the scan”.

That’s how I viewed the matter.

Of course – everything Obama touches turns to crap.  He endorsed the OWS protests and they are immediately overwhelmed with sewage.

It’s no accident.  It’s product placement.

having raised 3 kids, and raising 2 grandkids, I can assure you that the bills you see as a result of the WYB have only begun. If you only knew how big they will get, and the present value of all those costs, your hair would curl.

It would, if you had any.

Basically, Heartiste is saying ‘um, we libertarians just want to party, and can you socons actually get around to fixing our society?’

    He’s right of course.

His argument  about religion is that important people don’t buy it…
    But…
    1. Atheism is for the sorta clever.  Christ is the for the serious minded, and thinking man.
    2. Our current ruling class is sorta clever, at best.  They may be important, but we know they’re not worth the gunpowder to blow them up.  Saying the ruling class is for something is roughly equivalent to saying ‘nine of ten heroin addicts swear by this plan’.  It gives you valuable information…do the opposite.

As for women wanting to be led….sounds like something I heard in an Independent Baptist church.  Women are passive and reactive, and men are active.  Which is why God is a man, because compared to Him, we are all the acted upon….or that’s one theory I heard.  Makes sense.
