I got alerted by a phone call from somebody that #Occupy was going to stage a demonstration down by Radio Row. So I hied me there post-haste, camera ready. Security was not briefed beforehand, leading to an interesting encounter:

And here is the actual cut:

Update: here is further coverage of actual #Occupy activity at CPAC.

Nice video.  Here is another performance with worse video with a better sound track.

They seem moderately talented.  I’m guessing they weren’t on our side by the OWS-looking guy on the far left (the only one in the crowd moving to the music  besides maybe the Dancing Rhino) who appears to be with the band, and their band name.  As protests go, if that’s what it was, it was okay if no one was trying to speak just inside the ballroom doors.

I’d suggest they add some Ukrainian-chick-style topless protestors, but they would probably just haul in a gaggle of the Code Pink crones.  No point in ruining dinner for the paying guests, eh?

That guy in the first video who says “These are my guys” looks like
Richard Mgrdechian, “the Founder, President and CEO of Terabit Media Corporation, a company he formed to develop new ways to rise above the noise of the current political discourse, and to get messages heard in a structured, meaningful and actionable way, far beyond what is currently available through areas such as blogging, on-line efforts and talk radio.”
