HotAir Misses The Larger Point In The Fauquier County Tea Party Protest

Mary Katherine Ham has her facts straight about why the protest occurred on 02 August in support of farmers from Paris, Virginia:

Farmers and their supporters rallied August 2 at a Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, where Boneta’s lawyer asked for reconsideration. She did not prevail, but the fight’s not over. Fauquier farmers believe the zoning rules are a violation of the state’s Right to Farm Act.

Her post is fine as far as it goes, and I won’t even veer into realms of butthurt over the personal resources this blog spent covering the event in question, and not even get a winky of the lovey-linky from Hot Air:

There are more blogs out there than anyone could possibly read. I wouldn’t want to distract Mary Katherine from her better effort spent taking Bill O’Reilly to the woodshed:

Bravo, MKH! That Fauquier County zoning board is as daft as Bill O’Reilly. Both think that the Holy State is always correct, and there is no individuality remaining to discuss, to say nothing of an agricultural tradition rooted in liberty and property rights. Yet there is a broader pattern well worth researching at work here. Follow the links above, and watch the videos. Our problems are not a lack of laws, but rather, a lack of character.

I know how you feel.  I have almost thirty links last week to TOM, and do not get a FMJRA.  But that is the way things are.  Tabitha Hale dumps on RSM, Mary K Ham dumps on you.  Wombat dumps on me.

I could feel sorry, or focus on Rule 5!  I choose the latter.

Yeah, what could a young, talented, attractive up-and-comer like Da Hammer possibly have to do than spend her time on TOM, scrolling through post after post and update after update on a local zoning matter that attracted some support from the Tea Party activists in the area?

Sure, the local government – like most of them – exceeded their legal authority, ignored the rights of citizens, and chose to act as bullies instead of considering the possibility they had been mistaken.  Stop the presses.

But does a couple of local protests that attract a few dozen demonstrators on a local issue merit what is now FIVE posts, or did Ham give it the coverage that it needed in one?

OK, you’re butt-hurt, even if you say you’re not butt-hurt. Welcome to the Brotherhood of Butt-Hurt.

On the other hand, in terms of the cause, it’s good to have MK and a venue with the heft of Hot Air paying attention to the attention to the Fauquier County situation.

Maybe we can get MK to bake you a cake inscribed with the name of your favorite video game or something.

I want to say it took me two solid years of blogging  before I got FMJRA status and I never asked for it. Just ::BLING:: one day RSM says “Thou shalt have FMJRA status” and I was all “Kick ass!” while muttering “took ya long enough” under my breath or something like that. Consider yourself among the elite 😉

Face it, Smitty. You’re not a member of the Konservative Kool Kidz Klub. NO LINK LOVE FOR YOU!!!

I suggest you embrace your inner Rat Bastard and be done with it.

There is no such thing as ‘FMJRA status’. There are (a) bloggs that automagically support pingback/trackback, and (b) user-level work-arounds.
    (b) Means pushing a list of URLs via email to Wombat in time.
Blogs that are explicitly shunned are, for example, white supremacist sites.
Short of that, we’re totally liberal about who’s included.

Don’t sense this up with all your codespeak and procedural pontificating you big Navy nerd. My portrayal is much better and speaking of white supremacists, if Chuck Johnson wasn’t such a raaaaacist then maybe there’d be an FMJRA in his future.
Nah, just kidding about that last part. Chuck’s stuck and totally unworthy plus I almost spewed soda out my nose trying not to LOL. ;-D

Reminds me of a sound bite from SEALAB 2020’s (or 2021?) Howlin’ Mad Murphy’s pirate radio show. The ultimate zing!

How does Bill O`Really hold the #1 spot on FOXNews when he`s so wrong about Obama and his agenda ? From the beginning he`s not only failed, but refused to see Barry`s malevolence toward America and her people. All attempts by Glenn Beck and others to point out the obvious have been met with only scorn.

Sorry, I have not the time of day for him.

FWIW, I think all of you here have a better handle on what`s really goin` on than Billy O` !

I think you are confusing Hot Air with a conservative site. Since Morrisey came along and Malkin sold the site, it has gotten just a bit squishy. Adding the Hammer didn’t change that, even if she can so easily embarass O’Really (and O’Really is very easy to embarass).

I did thirty links last week in an effort to be the Michael Phelps of FMJRA!   But sometimes a well timed protest can push you over the top.

As for you Red, there should be a completely separate award for awesomeness and you would win it almost every week.
