Pecksniff Matthews: “I don’t think Ryan spoke to the whole country tonight”

What a ludicrous standard! Matthews, how is it possible to speak to the ‘whole’ country? With ‘whole’ for a quantifier, it only takes one to require another pass. Pass, ‘whole’.
Newsbusters:

Minutes after Paul Ryan finished his RNC speech on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews slammed the Republican vice presidential candidate for supposedly ignoring blacks during his “very constricted, very negative, very nasty speech,” and suggested that he was directing the address to racists: “It’s clear that Paul Ryan was talking to people who think about rights as something…produced by Thomas Jefferson, ignoring the people for whom the rights only came in the 1960s.”

For a nominal Roman Catholic, Matthews cleaves to an obtuse, secular weltanschauung. Or one that only looks a certain direction:
Probably, by the time 2020 rolls around, and Paul Ryan is running for POTUS, Matthews shall have departed the scene in the I-love-me jacket.

Well if you look at Chris Matthews’ ratings it is pretty clear he is not speaking to the whole country either!

Of course he didn’t speak to the “whole” country idiot! YOU weren’t listening, thus the “whole” country didn’t hear him …

Notice that “Living In The Past” isn’t quite the same song you heard on the AM radio in the early ’70s. Originally it was hastily written as a “B” side to a single in the UK when Jethro Tull first became popular there. After they made the splash in the USA, it was rediscovered and became a hit, but the band hated it because it was such a simple ditty.

So over the years they have constantly rearranged it to jazz it up a bit, keeping the signature opening hook and the lyrics for familiarity. Even the song about living in the past doesn’t stay as mired there as Matthews is!

That won’t work. His boobs aren’t big enough, he doesn’t wear heels, and her hairdo would be a miserable failure on him.

Hehe. That “I-Love-Me Jacket” ref reminds me of the scene from that Cheech & Chong movie where Cheech is wearing one of those, and he has this itch…
