DNC Platform Lets Hamas Off the Hook

Jeff Dunetz reports:

Comparing the language of the 2008 Democratic Party Platform and the 2012 Democratic Party Platform a key section was removed.

That section called for isolating Hamas “until it renounces terrorism,” so now, evidently, Democrats are OK with Hamas terrorism.

Press statement from Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition: “This administration is painfully out of touch with the mainstream of the Jewish community, which knows that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and that it must remain the undivided capital of the Jewish State of Israel.”

As I’ve been saying for some time, this isn’t your father’s Democratic Party. This is the Sirhan Sirhan wing of the Democratic Party.

  1. I dunno. “Wing” implies that there are other parts of the party that don’t agree, or something. When did they start allowing dissent again in the Democrat Party?

  2. They also deleted any mention of Jerusalem. Several high-ranking Israelis are convinced that if Obama is reelected, he will seek to “punish” Bibi for talking back to him on Israel’s situation.

  3. Weasel Zippers had a good point that maybe the language abandoning Israel in favor of the terrorists was necessary to get Jimmy Carter to speak.

Or it may also be that hatred for the Jews is now the official policy of the Democratic party so Carter feels at home. Either way, it is impossible to understand why the Dems would want to remind anyone that Carter still exists when everyone is saying that Obama is pretty much what would have happened in Carter’s second term.
