NiceDeb is one of the solid blogs on the right, and a friend of this blog for years. ToS violation my left foot. She’s being harassed.

Update II: NiceDeb is back, thanks to an outpouring of help from all, including Doug Ross.

    It’s probably this part of the ToS that some people are using to report and complain to wordpress:
    “the Content is not pornographic, does not contain threats or incite violence towards individuals or entities, and does not violate the privacy or publicity rights of any third party;”
    The “threats” and “incite violence” part is always the kicker with these free sites.

    Exact same thing happened to me at mine. Never did recover. Unidentified “TOS violation”. I appealed. Never heard a word back. Shut down totally. That was on Blogger.

    That’s why I use WordPress software, but I will not host my main site on their server. It’s not that hard to roll your own, unless you’re utterly technophobic, and most of the companies that let you host your site don’t charge much more than a pizza per month, and a lot of them will even walk you through setup. I won’t mention names, because no matter who you say, someone will have an issue with them, suffice it to say, my current host has had only a few glitches in the past 5 years I’ve been on them.

    I definitely didn’t get anywhere in trying to get information when I created that thread. But maybe it helped draw unwanted attention to the “tos suspension”. I’d like to think I helped free Nice Deb.

    Deb Frisch once got Teh Squeaky Wheel in trouble with wordpress; all she did was complain that pictures posted on the site were inappropriate and intended to harass her. Including the old photoshop of the mouse that’s a kiwi that’s been sliced open.

    Seriously, it happened.

    Teh Wheel spun its last a couple weeks ago, but I’m sure you could find the thread, if you care.

    I’m glad she got her site back up. If I were her I would back up anything *right now* that I didn’t already have backups of. Don’t ever post content to a third party site without personal backups….ever. You never know when the Leftie trolls might attack. Maybe I’m a Luddite but I do all my backups to USB drives and rotate a copy to my Safe Deposit Box periodically for off-site storage.

    I write out all my code by hand on copper sheets with an engraving pen. Then each sheet is buried in a secret location around town. with a clue to the next sheet.

    All I have to remember is where I buried the first…

    Can’t believe that those with liberal views went that far. I am taking similar harassment in my own city and now have some anonymous creep who says he has written an expose about me and the Roanoke times accepted it. I live in Florida and in a city that is highly contentious! May freedom of speech prevail. LOVE your blog!!
