The idea that Constitutional rights are ‘entitlements’ moves them from being constants that the government can’t touch to variables, which can be expanded or contracted by fiat. Clip below the fold for autoplay reasons.

Of course this is all served up in ‘For the children!’ and ‘Who wants weapons in the hands of maniacs?’ terms.

The problem, as evidenced by the skyrocketing NRA membership, is that the bulk of the American people understand that the difference between Mr. Holder and a lying, Orwellian crapsack might not be terribly much. Selling the line of nonsense that common-sense restrictions can be expanded in arbitrary ways would require far more credibility than this administration has.

As I said in the thread at Protein Wisdom, that’s the kind of thing you might expect from some mouth-breather on “Jaywalking.” How did this dullard get confirmed as Attorney General?

People say the President deserves his pick for Cabinet posts, but it’s not about what HE deserves.
