ObamaGate Scandal Mania!

“Obama: Anatomy of a World Leader,” by Alex Gray (detail)

Ed Morrissey’s headline at The Week summarizes the situation:

A flood of scandals engulfs Obama

It’s not only engulfing Obama, it’s engulfing me and everybody else who’s trying to keep up with all this stuff. Easy to become confused:

Inspector General’s Report:
‘Intolerable and Inexcusable’

What’s truly intolerable and inexcusable is that all of this is happening at once, with new developments all day, every day, until Scandal Fatigue sets in and it’s impossible to keep up with even a fraction of it. So, yeah, it’s engulfing Obama and engulfing us, too.

UPDATE: Dear Lord, there’s still more:

Last week, the Benghazi talking points took center stage in the ongoing investigation of the 9/11 anniversary attacks in Libya. Jay Carney came under intense questioning at Friday’s White House press briefing as he struggled to justify a dozen iterations of talking points before Susan Rice used the final version for her now-infamous five Sunday talk show appearances on September 16, 2012. However, a background briefing by the State Department four days before Rice’s appearances provides the earliest extended look at the information used to prepare those talking points.

You really need to read the whole thing. Me, I’ve barely got time to skim half this stuff. My bedtime reading tonight will be 54 pages entitled, “Inappropriate Criteria Were Used to Identify Tax-Exempt Applications for Review,” by Michael E. McKenny. Sweet dreams.

If there’s going to be a straw that breaks the camel’s back it will be the AP deal. The Marxist Audio Visual Department doesn’t care about the superfluous alphabet agencies picking on Tea Parties, though the IRS angle appears to unsettle them, nobody likes the IRS…nobody. The AP part angers the “loyal narrative monitors”. We’ll see if they still keep covering Obama’s ass.

“What’s truly intolerable and inexcusable is that all of this is happening at once, with new developments all day, every day, until Scandal Fatigue sets in and it’s impossible to keep up with even a fraction of it.” Thats very perceptive. Now if I were a profoundly cynical person, I might posit that the IRS scandal was thrown out there to distract us from the Benghazi scandal and the AP wiretap scandal was thrown out there to distract us from the IRS scandal. I might even say that it makes it difficult for Obama administration critics to focus…

Especially since it’s coming out that the IRS scandal was set off by a planted question. On the other hand, the Administration isn’t doing a very good job of pissing on all the fires.

As has been pointed out, each new scandal tends to push an older one out of the public (that is, media) consciousness. Have we heard of Fast and Furious lately? Meanwhile what should be a scandal, immigration, hasn’t made the front page yet.

I don’t see how the IRS can now oversee Obamadontcare.

Benghazi will destroy his presidency, and could get Obama not only impeached, but possibly arrested. Obama’s team leaked all these other investigations to muddy the waters. It’s not everyday we have a president that coordinates with a terrorist organization to murder an American Ambassador. Obama knew full well what was about to happen, otherwise the embassy in Cairo would not have leaked the blame America/ Video fake story before there was an actual protest. The big question is : why did Obama want Chris Stevens dead? What was Stevens involved with that made him such a threat to both the terrorist organizations and their evil partner in crime, Barack Obama?

Benghazi has to be such a monumental story that Obama would feed the media all these other stories to get the media to look elsewhere. And it’s working- all we are doing is talking about everything except Obama’s complicity in the murder of 4 Americans.

It’s not a ‘gate’. There’s a body count and a high placed Democrat skating away from responsibility. This is a ‘quidick’

Axelrod is all over the place defending Obama on the basis that “no one can manage a government so vast” (after he spent five years helping Obama expand it!

But the unspoken subtext is clear: “Obama just isn’t up to this job. He’s not that good and he’s not that smart. He’s a guy who likes to give speeches, play golf, and party, that’s all.”

    ….It’s the dawning of
    The Age of SCOAMFiboly

When all the plates are spinning
    and the misdirections clash,
    shall the fallen be forgotten
as we fumble through the trash
    to discover the extent,
of which we are so screwed?
What we need is a distraction
    like Christina Hendricks, nude.

Will that pacify the Moron hordes
    enough to quell their rage?
To properly fete this Empty Suit
we’ll need the Ace of Spades.
    This SCOAMFOTUS does require
    a ‘Spades-like disquisition,
and please, let’s show the Fourth Estate
    they’ve botched their only mission.

    They spent their lives protecting
    our SCOAMF-tastic POTUS
    from any form of scrutiny–
that is not what they owed us.
So they now own a fulsome part
    of all that’s in disgrace.
    They’ve done their amphibolic best
to disguise his fall from grace.

A fall that’s taken them along
as they spiral down the drains
    of failed operations,
    with idealists at the reins.
    The old-school correspondents
    like Stacy and his breed
are left to restore the calling,
    to fill a proper need.

    To end the amphibolicized
    extensions of dictat,
that’s what we need in these rough times
but that ain’t what we’ve got.
The TV newsers and their “panels”
    are blithely unaware
they have us always flipping channels
as we turn toward other fare.

This is why the scandals all
    emerged in one big bunch.
The Fourth Estate collapsed this week
    as bloggers ate their lunch.
They come at us fast and frequent now,
    a new one every hour.
The Empty Suit is mired in mud,
    despite his vaunted power.

But the real scandal is the news,
    the media empires falling.
We have other ways to stay informed
    and their ignorance is appalling.
    The SCOAMF and the media
have both been brought down low.
We need a time of clarity,
it’s time for them to go.

    No more the amphiboly, please.
Take up the cause of truth.
You might survive the coming purge
    by smartphone wielding youth,
who know you’ve failed to do your jobs
    so they gather news themselves.
They want the truth, and are unimpressed
by the Pulitzers on your shelves.

And the fallen heroes you ignored
    The People remember, all.
They did not die to be used by you
and a man who failed the call.
A man whose water you still carry
as though you love him so.
Your day is gone, please do not tarry
it’s time for you to go.

If the IRS IG is like the NASA IG then the published findings are agreed to in a conference with the appropriate management team and the IG. There is no sense in which the IG is independent.
