Rush Limbaugh: Still Winning

Posted on | June 8, 2013 | 19 Comments

On Thursday, Professor William Jacobson called attention to evidence that the “Stop Rush” boycott campaign has failed. Meanwhile, one of the leaders of the “Stop Rush” campaign, Matt “Shoq” Edelstein, had his lawyer send a cease-and-desist letter to his ex-girlfriend, who had been saying some unflattering things about Shoq.

So the anti-Limbaugh forces are failing and in disarray, while the man they sought to destroy is more relevant than ever:

Even before I heard about Prism, I am hearing from the intelligentsia in Washington that there’s nothing to be really concerned about here with what we had learned, the NSA demanding and getting every phone record from Verizon. And, by the way, we now know T-Mobile and AT&T have been added to it.
But the intelligent people were saying, “Nothing to see here. The reaction is way overblown.” Those of us who think there’s something worrisome here are overreacting and we’re too oriented in politics. . . .
I’m saying, “Do these people not realize what we just learned in the last three weeks?” We got the IRS starting in 2010 taking action to suppress the political involvement and ultimately votes of Tea Party people and conservative Republicans. This regime, this government, on the orders of the highest level. In fact, that investigation is ongoing. We have Fast and Furious. We have Obamacare. The evidence of the totalitarian nature or the authoritarian nature of this administration is on display undeniably every day and yet in the midst of this, “Well, don’t go off half cocked on this, Rush. Be very levelheaded. Nothing really to see,” as though there’s no context here.

Read the whole thing, because he really rips it up:

More than two decades since he invented modern talk radio, Rush Limbaugh is still changing hearts and minds. Mega-dittos, Rush!

UPDATE: You have to be careful when joking about the Obama administration, because the punchline is usually all too true:

Rush is as relevant as ever. He says what people are privately thinking. Coup d’état.

http://evilbloggerlady.blogspot.com/2013/06/mark-steyn-asks-rather-than-spying-on.html There is a reason Mark Steyn is Rush Limbaugh’s go to guy to cover for him when he is out of town.

The 3 ways to remove a military man from service and ensure he is so radioactive that no one will consider facts of his innocence are to accuse him of a sex outside of marriage, being insufficiently aggressive in prosecuting a man accused of a sex crime (lack of PC), and proselytizing Christianity.

We lost yet another general today to the accusation of being insufficiently aggressive in prosecuting a man accused of a sex crime (because, according the Violence Against Women Act, sex is only a crime if a man is involved).

We have lost a short ton of flag officers to heterosexual sex, lack of PC, and Christianity in the last 4 years. We have also lost the command structure at the mid-level of the forces that provide nuclear strike and ballistic missile defense.
When one looks at the PRC and where they are physically, economically, and militarily, and given Obama’s coterie’s infatuation with Mao Zedong, it isn’t out of the realm of the impossible to see America become a province of the PRC within the next 3 years.

Coup d’etat by Obama? Yes, yes indeed.

“Report: NSA, Pentagon officials linked to child porn”

    —–

Actually a good strategy considering what we now know. Islamists are notorious pedophiles and sex maniacs. They might also want to track ‘Bestiality’ while they’re at it.

What other religion promises 72 virgins for killing members of a competing faith? The highly-political ‘Islamist’ strain of Islam seems to be centered around the promise of perverse sexual gratification.

Rush is still one of the few who on talk radio can promote conservative ideas in an entertaining way without shrieking like a hyena. So many are either like Bill Bennett (great idea-man, but death to listen to) or Hannity (a shrieking hyena).

Isn’t Tae Kim Schmalfeldts lawyer? Who pays this guy?

Mr. Kim did represent Bill Schmalfeldt and Brett Kimberlin in their District Court peace order hearings. He did not represent Kimberlin in the Circuit Court appeal, and we don’t know if he will appear for Schmalfeldt for the Circuit Court appeal this Friday (although Schmalfeldt does keep tweeting about what his lawyer will do to me at the hearing).

Your guess is as good as mine as to who pays Mr. Kim’s fees.

On the other hand, see the quote frequently attributed (incorrectly) to Admiral Yamamoto on the folly of invading the US. Make no mistake – the Chicoms would have to invade to keep control. No satrap of theirs would be long for this world.

Yes, she’s also one of the good ones. I generally like Medved as well, but he’s a bit of a squish on some issues and he spends far, far too much time humoring kooks.

Disagree. There are too many junior and mid-level bureaucrats who will follow the rules because the job pays, and they must be ‘ethically neutral’ – no independent value judgements permitted. For example, when I was medically retired from the Army Reserve, a form was missing from the packet. 20 months later, I made an inquiry and a GS-11 informed me that I had been illegally retired, that it wasn’t her job to fix the problem, and it was not her job going to notify me of the problem. Many years from now, when I apply for retirement pay and benefits, that missing form would have prevented everything. The key term is job – not duty.

Another example is the DVA. There are thousands of employees dedicated to processing claims, along with automation – and yet we’ve seen the glacialization of the process.

A few hundred bureaucrats in DC and scattered across the states and territories and you can control the US of A with no military force. People follow the law, and believe folks in DC know better than an individual citizen, and personally like Obama and Uncle Sheriff Joe (not Arpaio).
