Nikki Haley Wins GOP Runoff!

Posted on | June 22, 2010 | 20 Comments

The Associated Press goes straight into the “historic” race-and-gender identity-politics stuff:

Nikki Haley, an Indian-American woman, won the Republican nomination for governor and Tim Scott, a black lawmaker, grabbed a commanding lead in his bid for the GOP nod for a House seat in South Carolina primary runoffs Tuesday, a measure of racial progress in the Deep South and the GOP.

Really? I mean . . . really? Why wasn’t the Associated Press all about “racial progress in the Deep South” for Alvin Greene?

Never mind, the key point here is that the scumbag axis of Will Folks, Larry Marchant and Jake Knotts has been defeated.

UPDATE: More good news Tea Party-backed Trey Gowdy beat Rep. “Bailout Bob” Inglis, who voted for TARP.

The South is only going to be given a break when the first GOP black lesbian with three arms is elected, isn’t it?

Well, as long as she/it lowers taxes, I’m down.

Don’t leave the major players behind the Axis of Feeble Scumbags – Andre Bauer and Phillip Bowers, with a shout out to Mike “The Tax Hike” Huckabee, without whose endorsement stamp of approval no one would have paid any attention to the puny little cockroach Bauer anyway.

Haley and Scott didn’t win because of “racial progress” at all – the progress had already come, we were waiting for the right people. They won because of a reform agenda of lower spending, lower taxes, open government, and throwing out the entrenched special interests. All the negative ads and sleazy rumors and baseless accusations could not fool the people or force them off the course of reform.

Shame about Inglis, though – he was a good conservative who was in large part forced out for a single vote. We may regret that sooner or later.

I would also note that if Alvin Greene had run his campaign as performance art at Harvard or Berkeley, he would be acclaimed “a minimalist genius of the like not seen before” and become a distinguished lecturer at elite universities.

    R. S., you forgot Tim Scott, who WILL be the first Black Republican elected since reconstruction. I only wished that we had candidates like these two here in California!
