Conservatives representing nearly three-quarters of the House Republican conference unveiled their proposed replacement for President Obama’s healthcare law Wednesday, delivering on a long-delayed GOP promise.
The bill from the Republican Study Committee would fully repeal the 2010 law and replace it with an expansion of health savings accounts, medical liability reform and the elimination of restrictions on purchasing insurance across state lines.
Authors of the proposal said they would push for a vote on the House floor, although they acknowledged the bill stands no chance of passage with Obama in the White House and Democrats controlling the Senate.

Thus, no one can reasonably say that the GOP is purely obstructionist here. The House’s action sets up the (more realistic, let’s face it) possibility of delaying ObamaCare another year, and turning 2014 into a referendum between a despised train wreck and the Republican Steering Committee idea, which could retain some flavor of traditional American liberty for our future.

It’s worth noting that even the staunchest ObamaCare advocates wouldn’t mind additional time to actually get some of the infrastructure developed for the program. Scream and holler though they will, the additional schedule slack would be a boon for them.

Hayward notes at Human Events:

Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor made a point of supporting President Obama’s quest for military strikes on Syria because they thought it would earn them some reciprocal goodwill. Then they got to watch Obama take the stage, just hours after a shooting rampage at the Washington Naval Yard, and launch slash-and-burn partisan attacks against them. Perhaps that influenced their decision to go all-in on ObamaCare repeal. Maybe they got tired of trying to shake hands with someone who keeps hitting them below the belt.

Nice fable, John, but we’re talking about the kind of a guy who lets one Ambassador twist in the wind in Benghazi, then sends another Ambassador to urinate down the public back while talking about the video that precipitated the tragedy. Our President is a lying, no-talent rodeo clown of such magnitude that you’d require a lobotomy scar of Kerry proportions not to notice. Still: good try.

Whenever citing the list of heinous torts alleged against us by lying felon Brett Kimberlin — “malicious prosecution, conspiracy to abuse process, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and stalking” — John Hoge always hastens to add, “Mopery, with intent to lurk.”

Perhaps even aggravated mopery, in the first degree.

Alas, being sued by The World’s Most Evil Pro Se Litigant™ does not spare defendants the hassle and expense of defending ourselves, and so getting this absurd case laughed out of court is far more serious business than these lighthearted jests might suggest.

Ditto, says defendant McCain, as to every other spurious claim in Kimberlin’s suit. Who has harassed, defamed and stalked whom? And who has organized a conspiracy against his enemies? This is why Neal Rauhauser’s confessed role in Kimberlin’s lawsuit is so important.

Perhaps you should ask Patterico what manner of mischief Neal Rauhauser has perpetrated over the years or, for that matter, you should read for yourself what Rauhauser (alias “Stranded Wind”) wrote on July 4, 2011: “Weinergate: Patterico’s Penalization.”

Bad causes attract bad people, and Neal Rauhauser’s association with Brett Kimberlin shows what manner of “progressive” client a disgraced Democrat campaign consultant inevitably finds. Kimberlin’s “accuse the accusers” tactics in the courtroom furnish fuel for online defamation by the army of slanderous sockpuppets that Rauhauser has helped assemble. John Hoge cites a typical example:

I will say that essentially all the “facts” cited by Xenophon are not factual. They are demonstrably false. Of course, this doesn’t surprise me. On multiple occasions, I’ve watched Brett Kimberlin lie in court, so why would I expect him or his lackeys to tell the truth any place else.
I’ll make sure that Xenophon’s post gets archived and forwarded to my lawyers.

Tell the truth about Brett Kimberlin, and he then enlists liars like Rauhauser and “Xenophon” to lie about you. The lies that have been endlessly repeated about me, I will not specify here, but the purpose of such smears is obvious: In order to explain why honest people say bad things about Kimberlin, his army of liars must discredit the truth-tellers. Once you know their motives, their methods make perfect sense.

One million dollars — that’s the amount of punitive damages that convicted bomber Brett Kimberlin is seeking from myself and four other bloggers in a lawsuit recently filed in Maryland. Kimberlin filed this lawsuit pro se (charging “malicious prosecution, conspiracy to abuse process, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and stalking”) more than two weeks ago, but I haven’t written much about this suit because I haven’t yet retained counsel.
The fact that Democrats and their liberal allies in the media will not condemn Brett Kimberlin has angered me since May 2012, when I first started covering the story . . . Because Kimberlin once claimed to have sold marijuana to Dan Quayle, he was celebrated by many liberals — including Doonesbury cartoonist Gary Trudeau — as a political prisoner of sorts. Liberals ignored the facts about the crimes of which Kimberlin was convicted in 1981 and sentenced to 50 years in federal prison. He eventually served only 17 years of that sentence, and since his release in 2001, Kimberlin has promoted himself as a progressive, an “activist-musician” as the Washington Post’s Monica Hesse called Kimberlin in a 2007 feature profile.
The true story of the “Speedway Bomber” who terrorized an Indiana town, planting a bomb that blew off the leg of a Vietnam veteran, evidently isn’t something the Washington Post considers newsworthy. And neither has the Post shown any interest in Kimberlin’s legal war against blogger Aaron Walker that resulted in Walker being briefly arrested last year and ordered by a Maryland judge to stop writing about Kimberlin. . . .

BOOM: Neal Rauhauser Admits Playing Key Role in Brett Kimberlin Lawsuit

Neal Rauhauser’s role in Brett Kimberlin’s war against Aaron Walker and other bloggers was the “hook” that originally got me involved in this story in May 2012. I’d never heard of Kimberlin until then, but I knew very well how evil, crazy and deceptive Neal Rauhauser was from the “TwitterGate” episode in 2010. (See, “‘A Faint Whiff of Vigilante Hysteria’: Weinergate’s Kimberlin Connection.”) So when Brett Kimberlin filed a lawsuit in Maryland Aug. 30, the possibility that the case would expose Rauhauser’s role was . . .

Well, it was potentially newsworthy. Little did I suspect, however, that Neal Rauhauser would make public his own role in the suit:

“You will find a suit against @AaronWorthing, @Ali, @rsmccain, @wjjhoge, and @KimberlinUnmask. I provided the plaintiff with the Twitter forensics for this suit. If you’re not being sued like this, I am probably not looking at you at all. . . .”

Yeah, Neal: Go ahead and delete that — too late. Screen-capped it:

You can click that image to enlarge full size. What Rauhauser is doing — beyond his inevitable habit of bragging about his exploits, of course — is attempting to intimidate other bloggers into being silent about Kimberlin’s latest “lawfare” attack on bloggers:

“Don’t get manipulated into being entertainment
for trolls, don’t get set up as a target for a lawsuit, and
definitely don’t get caught in the middle of what appears
to be a lover’s spat between Ali Akbar and Karl Rove.”

That nonsense is just the small change of Rauhauser’s disinformation efforts, which have been continuous since 2011, at least.

Neal’s claim that he is the victim of “a conspiracy theory by a single delusional, obsessive woman in New Jersey” is the exact opposite of truth. Neal is the one who keeps manipulating people, spinning conspiracy theories about his enemies, in order to create a plausible explanation for his own evident wrongdoing.

And in the process of his manipulations, Rauhauser has burned more than a few bridges with his former allies on the Left, including many members of Anonymous who realized (too late) that Neal was using them as pawns in his own selfish games, including the “Carlito2000” scam that contributed to Barrett Brown’s September 2012 meltdown.

It was always likely that Rauhauser’s association with Kimberlin would become part of the Kimberlin v. Walker et al., lawsuit. However, by admitting that this association has been active as recently as Aug. 30, now Rauhauser has practically guaranteed this.

Well, I could say more, but don’t want to say too much.

Brett Kimberlin could have been sentenced to 230 years in federal prison

Liars hate truth, and the wicked fear justice. Every honest man must oppose harassment and intimidation intended to silence those who call evil by its right name, because if truth is silenced, the righteous and innocent shall become prey for the wicked and dishonest.

God bless Ken White at Popehat, who hates evil liars:

One of the problems with Kimberlin’s complaint about being called a pedophile is that his detractors disclosed the factual basis for using that epithet against him. Among other things, they pointed out that (1) Kimberlin has said sexually creepy things about teenaged girls; (2) Mark Singer’s book about Kimberlin describes a relationship with an underaged girl that some find inappropriate and suggestive of pedophilia; (3) Kimberlin’s wife accused him of having sex with her before she was 16, and in 2013 filed charges against him on that basis, although prosecutors declined to prosecute the case and she apparently later retracted and disavowed the charges after the defendants wrote about them; and (4) even accepting Kimberlin’s position that he did not have sex with his wife before she was 16, by his own version of events it appears that he met her in Russia before she was 16 when he was in his 40s, she traveled to the United States, and they married when she was 16 and he in his 40s. . . .

UPDATE: Let me slightly disagree with Ken White:

People follow and support Brett Kimberlin for several reasons. First, like many sociopaths, he is superficially charming and socially adept. People support him for the same reason that people got into Ted Bundy’s Volkswagen Bug.

Clever, but somewhat inaccurate. People who support Brett Kimberlin are either spectacularly stupid or active agents of evil.

Which is to say, they’re Democrats.

That statement of fact probably won’t endear me to any Democrat lawyers who may be considering taking on the battle against Brett Kimberlin, but it is important that anybody who gets into this thing know exactly what they’re getting into, eh? Whereas a sociopath like Brett Kimberlin will tell any lie to achieve his evil purposes — and falsely accuse others of doing the wrongs he is himself actually doing — an honest man will speak truth even at his own peril.

Even at this very minute, Brett Kimberlin’s vicious allies are lying about me, and why? Because I keep telling the truth about them.

North Carolina Democrats have apparently adopted the radical motto “By Any Means Necessary” in their war to destroy conservative opposition, as the intimidation tactics employed by Democrat operative Greg Flynn against a citizen-activist make clear:

Lady Liberty is a blogger, but she is also a mother worried about her children. Greg Flynn (an editor at the left-wing blog BlueNC.com, a former employee of the state department of education and a Democrat Party activist) apparently decided that identifying Lady Liberty by name would be a good way to shut her up, exposing her family to harassment from his radical Democrat allies. Every conservative in North Carolina — no, by God, every conservative in America — should be mad as hell about Greg Flynn‘s vicious intimidation tactics.
