Rule 5 Sunday: Master Of Puppets

I am horrified by the fact that I somehow managed to forget Rule 5 Sunday last week; apparently I was overcome by tax form fumes and passed out after escaping from the tax mines last Sunday. On the upside, we now have twice the number of links!

Laughing Conservative, a bit giddy over the surge in traffic, gets a tad cheeky. At The POH Diaries, you must choose plain but classy, or utterly classless (but hot) lesbian pundit. Choose wisely! First Street Journal turns the spotlight on some fashionistas, and Three Beers Later has a metal music extravaganza. Postaldog reappears with some Kristy Swanson and girls behaving badly. A double helping of Dustbury links gives us Poonam Pandey, Janice Vidal, Liz Phair, and a long-awaited Zooeypalooza! Zion’s Trumpet also has some pretty faces and more of the same in red for your viewing pleasure. Fishersville Mike reminds us that it’s hockey night in Nashville, starring Carrie Underwood.

Want America To Fail? Heed Van Jones

Moving from reality to the surreal, Hot Air points to a Van Jones interview over at The ~~Weed~~Moss Gatherer, where he waxeth eloquent in the mellifluous tones of Winston Smith:

So how is Rebuild the Dream working towards that goal?

Two ways. The financial sector is sucking the money from all of our pockets, especially when it comes to underwater mortgages and student loans. The way you used to get the American Dream was to go to college and you got a house. Today, those same ambitions are dragging people out of the middle class and into poverty. So the biggest way we can help working class and middle class people in the near term is by one, getting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to reduce the principle on these underwater mortgages and, two, preventing the interest rates from the most important student loans from doubling on July 1.

A few points:

The Constitution was written to tackle multi-state and international challenges.
Houses occur in one state.
Education occurs in one head.
Neither housing nor education are federal tasks.
Now that the federal government has over-reached for decades, and created a vast hairball of debt, the approach that would make sense would be to revert all of this idiocy to the states to figure out.

No, Van, you Orwellian Commie, we’re not smoking your dope. None of your ideas promote liberty. Everything you have to say is about crushing free people and absorbing them into your Borg.

Fast and Furious Cover-Up: Who Told DOJ Employee Katie Dixon to Send Reporters Media Matters Story?

C.J. Ciaramella at the Free Beacon reports:

The Department of Justice is using the liberal “watchdog” group Media Matters for America to deflect questions about the Fast and Furious scandal, including those regarding a gun that might have been used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
A new book raises questions as to whether the FBI hid the existence of a weapon recovered at the scene of murdered U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Conservative commentator and author Katie Pavlich lays out evidence she says points to a FBI cover-up to protect a confidential informant in her recently released book, Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-up.
In response to an inquiry from the Free Beacon, a Justice Department spokeswoman said in an email that she “was told to direct your questions to the FBI, and also to provide you with a link to this story: http://mediamatters.org/research/201204190011”
The link was to a story at the George Soros-funded Media Matters for America supposedly refuting many of Pavlich’s claims. Media Matters is a partisan organization whose founder, David Brock, is also running a pro-Obama super PAC.

The Justice employee who sent that message to Ciaramella was Katie Dixon, who works in DOJ’s Office of Public Affairs (DOJ-OPA). Notice that she says she “was told” to send reporters that Media Matters link. The question now: Who told her to do so?

And I’ll bet Rep. Darrell Issa will want to find out, too.

Racist, Sexist Republicans Nominate Mia Love In Double-Negative Ritual

Everyone knows that Republicans are racist, or they would be Democrats. Also, Republicans have been waging a war on women, as indicated by their opposition to ObamaCare. Thus, via Legal Insurrection, we discover that Mia Love is the nominee for UT-4.

There is no way this could be motivated by agreement with Love’s politics. And it cannot be that Love has actual political talent. Furthermore, Republicans are immune to improvement, so overcoming their medieval ways cannot be the driver here.

No, there can be only one explanation. Through some quirk of space-time and excess coffee, the inherent misogyny of the Republicans must have momentarily cancelled all of the bias and bigotry in their hearts, and allowed Mia Love to slip through.

Someone is using Twitter-bots to attack conservative blogs:

Enoch and company have had to rebuild this blog because a nasty script was superimposed here, and the likelihood that it was an accident is much diminished by its also having been foisted on our old blog, POWIP. On Twitter, there’s a rash of direct messages telling me and other righties that people are saying horrible things about us. If you’re dumb enough to click the link, your account also becomes a bot account that will inform other people that they are being libelled online.

Hmmm. Meanwhile, the Lonely Conservative finds herself beseiged by every possible manner of trollish attacks:

Some of the comments this troll (or these trolls) leave include email addresses of other conservative bloggers. They fill up my email spam. They sign petitions in my name. They email spam to others in my name. They send me emails that appear to be from my friends. They go to other websites and leave comments in my name – with my email address and links back to this blog – that are vile and wretched. Thankfully I have some friends who are kind enough to let me know when they see this happening. As much as I would like to leave comments on all of the blogs I visit, I rarely have time. If I did there would be nothing on this blog. I suspect that’s the reason they’re doing what they do – to distract me. To shut me up. They’ve even broken federal law by calling my home using phony caller ID services. The police officer I filed a report with was very kind and understanding. My phone company assured me that once the report is ready they will be happy to provide me with the telephone numbers where those calls really originated. We’ll have to wait and see where that leads us.

Hmmm. Who could be doing this, I wonder? And why?

Unions File Suit Against Mitch Daniel’s Right-To-Work Law And His Hairstyle, But Mostly The Right-To-Work Law

Mitch Daniels came under attack from The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, who appear to have smoked a staggering amount of that new ‘Pelosi’ material circulating in Progressive circles. Emphasis mine:

The lawsuit argues that the “defendants have exacted compulsory service and/ or involuntary servitude from the Union through the combination of the passage of the Right to Work law and the existing federal requirement of the duty of fair representation” and that the union is “compelled to furnish services to all persons in bargaining units that it represents but it may not require payments for those services because of the Right to Work law.”
The union also claims the right-to-work law “requires dues-paying members to work alongside non-union personnel, and that is compulsory service within the meaning of the thirteenth amendment.”

But, if you believe that ObamaCare is Constitutional, you might have smoked enough Pelosi to become happy about it.
