The mental disease that is modern liberalism starts at an early age, with sports, before reaching full bloom in adulthood, when the modern liberal goes into government and starts to sodomize the economy.

The New York Slime: Boys Swimming on Girls Teams Find Success, Then Draw Jeers, emphasis mine:

At the Division I state championships on Saturday at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, there are eight boys in the 28-swimmer field in the 50 freestyle. Although Norwood’s Higgins was ruled academically ineligible Friday and will not compete at the state meet, two of the top four seeds in the 50 freestyle are boys, giving rise to the possibility that a boy could be the girls state champion.
Sarah Hooper, a senior at Needham High who is the fourth-fastest female entrant, finds the situation difficult to swallow.
“It’s really frustrating to see how athletic directors and school administrators aren’t doing anything,” she said. “They really aren’t advocating for us. I understand there isn’t an opportunity for these boys, but it infuriates me that they can’t combine two schools’ boys to create one team or have them compete in separate heats. The way it is now, the boys are taking recognition away from girls who have worked hard and deserve it.”

Let us understand the chronology at work:

  1. Sports are segregated by gender, due to the blindingly obvious, chemically irrefutable fact that boys != girls.
  2. There exists an “open access amendment to the [Massachusetts] state constitution, which was voted into law in the 1970s and mandates that boys and girls must be afforded equal access to athletics.”
  3. Smaller programs, therefore, had boys swimming on girls teams.
  4. Boys view sports in a capitalistic fashion. You know: work hard, succeed.
  5. Sooner or later, even the small pool of boys produces an athlete of sufficient caliber to mock the fundamental, gobsmacking idiocy of the morons who couldn’t figure out that boys != girls those decades back. A record is broken. Massive butt-hurt results:

    [Cynthia Baker] added: “There’s a reason these records are girls’ records. If there was no difference in boys’ strength, then it would be a unisex record. It’s really not fair. The more I thought about it, the more I couldn’t believe it.”
    Paul Wetzel, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, said the state’s swimming committee would meet after the season, and among the topics on the table would be Higgins’s record swim.
    “They are going to look for ways to deal with a boy holding a record in a girl’s sport,” he said, “Because sooner or later, I guess, some boy is going to come along and be the fastest swimmer.”

How modern liberal is that? I envision a reality show, where modern liberals are placed in a problem solving arrangement, forced to think, become self-reliant, and be rewarded based upon merit; or they are allowed to cry and starve in a corner, as is their wont.

That show should be called ‘life’, except that these little cretins worm their way into positions of authority and broadcast their inner insufficiency across society, cheapening it. I revile these creeps, whose crowning accomplishment in life is very likely to get arrested at an ObamaVille clean-out at your local #Occupy protest.

And don’t go getting me started on Beatitudes and meekness, and how Christianity is supposed to coddle weakness. At that point, you’re freebasing the Gospel to the point of indistinguishability from a nursery rhyme.

Ron Paul Still A Few Foreign Policy Briefs Behind, But Tempering His Rhetoric

Via Political Class Dismissed, we have Ron Paul on Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer, born under FDR and who has been with CBS since, shag me, I was born.

Schieffer sounds his age, and tries to go after Paul on the usual foreign policy topics. Interestingly, Paul tempers his opinions on questions of causality for events like 9/11. Let me form my objection to Paul as a question: when should you ever take your enemy’s propaganda at face value? When they are Commies? Nazis? Radical Muslims waging explosive jihad? Teach is just a little less gentle in objecting to Ron Paul.

The remark about 900 bases in north of 130 countries is equally worrisome. Paul is correct about the unaffordability of the arrangements we have, for example, troops in South Korea and Japan. The ‘bring the boys home’ argument, though, ignores both the historical reasons the troops are there and the unintended consequences of creating a power vacuum. The Chinese don’t like the Koreans don’t like the Japanese don’t like the Chinese. While none of the peoples involved have any screaming love of Americans, they do give us basing and buy our debt so that we can provide a Pax Americana.

It is an interesting policy question to talk about pulling the plug on the Pax Americana, but Ron Paul owes potential voters just a little more detail on how he intends to shore up the status quo.

It is as though Ron Paul has really done his homework on fiscal policy, and opted for something perhaps over-simplified on the foreign policy front.

After all that, Ron Paul is way ahead of the pack in discussions about trimming federal over-reach, which is 15 trillion kinds of essential. Thus, I’m glad to see him linger in the debates, if only as a thorn in the side of the RINO crowd, which is more interested in admiring problems than demonstrating leadership in going after them.

I like all three of Nick’s arguments, but he’s focusing on the Economics:

Let me add three more:

  • Student loans are not a federal task, and never were. The federal government should be forcibly precluded from queering the education market any further. If Virginians need student loans, we should be handling that in Richmond.
  • This is a transparent vote buying scheme. Not only will this act of Roman-style patronage turn into votes for whoever is waiving the magic wand, those grateful little creatures will hail their caesar and support his re-election as motivated campaign workers.
  • This is yet another brick in the wall of the mausoleum of separation of powers. This Administration continues to undertake tasks that, if not rightfully those of the States, certainly belong to the Congress. I guess Congress may be too busy figuring out how to rig legislation to maximize portfolio values to notice.
