What Causes Racism?

Posted on | July 31, 2025 | 1 Comment

The answer in two words: Cornell University.

Cornell University causes racism:

I applied to countless tenure-track positions across the country in 2019 and 2020. One of those applications went to Cornell, for a position in their Neurobiology and Behavior department. Unknown to me, a few months later Cornell initiated a separate search for a faculty member in evolutionary biology—my exact field—but kept it confidential. Internal emails now show this was no accident.
Last month, the America First Policy Institute released internal Cornell emails showing the university conducted an effort to recruit what the search committee referred to as a “diversity hire.” One committee member described the process bluntly: “What we should be doing is inviting one person whom we have identified as being somebody that we would like to join our department and not have that person in competition with others.” That “somebody,” who is black, was selected not because of research excellence, but because of race. I was denied the chance to compete—so were other academics who might have been qualified.
This discriminatory practice, conducted in coordination with Cornell’s Office of the Provost—led at the time by current Cornell President Michael Kotlikoff—violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of race. That’s why, with representation from the America First Policy Institute, I’m taking legal action against Cornell.
What makes this worse is the university’s continued dishonesty. This year, Mr. Kotlikoff wrote: “We do not exclude anyone at Cornell for reasons irrelevant to merit, neither do we admit or evaluate students, hire or promote employees, award chairs or tenure, or make any other merit-driven decisions at Cornell based on race, ethnicity, or other attributes not relevant to merit.” The leaked documents show otherwise.
In addition to orchestrating the discriminatory hiring scheme, Cornell created other racially filtered hiring pipelines, including a $16 million National Institutes of Health-funded initiative called the Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation program. or First. This program, the stated purpose of which is “enhancing compositional diversity,” required hiring committees to revise applicant lists repeatedly until they were diverse enough. If the applicant pool wasn’t diverse enough, the process was paused for “additional robust outreach.” . . .

You can read the rest from Colin Wright.

To be white is to be persona non grata at Cornell and other Ivy League universities. They hate white people, and will engage in illegal discrimination to prevent white people from being hired. As I’ve been saying for years, The Ivy League Is Decadent and Depraved.

Reluctantly, I Add My Two Cents to the World-Historic Sydney Sweeney Discourse

Posted on | July 30, 2025 | Comments Off on Reluctantly, I Add My Two Cents to the World-Historic Sydney Sweeney Discourse

This seemed like it was going to be one of those weird social-media episodes that would get a few laughs and disappear before I could be bothered to write about it, but then ABC’s Good Morning America felt the need to weigh in on the Sydney Sweeney Nazi Jeans Scandal, and so here we are, on a Wednesday, still talking about it.

Making a sophomoric double-entendre — “jeans”/“genes” — American Eagle employed This Year’s It Girl to promote their product: “Great jeans,” get it? And were it not for the fact that Donald Trump is president and half of our fellow citizens are in a state of panic-stricken hysteria, this not-remotely-clever ad campaign would never have become such a thing as to attract scrutiny from Major National News Organizations. But the same deranged mentality that justified baseball taking the All-Star Game out of Atlanta because Joe Biden called their election law “Jim Crow 2.0” continues to prevail among the kind of people who voted for Kamala Harris, so I find myself on a Wednesday being compelled to comment on an advertising campaign for overpriced blue jeans.

YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GET A GRIP!
GO OUTSIDE AND TOUCH GRASS ONCE IN A WHILE!

Excuse me for shouting, but there is actual important news that I would much rather be commenting about, were it not for the major media pandering to the psychiatric foibles of neurotic leftists and thereby forcing me to express my opinions regarding Sydney Sweeney and her unusually large, pendulous breasts. Stop twisting my arm, guys.

Sydney Sweeney is “ugly and startling”? What?

The internet has been quick to condemn the advertisement as noninclusive at best and as overtly promoting “white supremacy” and “Nazi propaganda” at worst. These critics point to the copy and the implication of calling a white person superior because of their genes. . . .
The advertisement, the choice of Sweeney as the sole face in it and the internet’s reaction reflect an unbridled cultural shift toward whiteness, conservatism and capitalist exploitation. Sweeney is both a symptom and a participant.

DO YOU NEED ME TO START SHOUTING AGAIN?
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

Deep breaths. Calming down now. What this reminds me of is how, during the height of the 2020 George Floyd Summer of Love, there were a lot of SJW types promoting concepts of “structural racism” and “systemic oppression,” so that traits like good grammar and punctuality were condemned as symbolic expressions of white supremacy. And this is supposed to help black people how? Stigmatizing good behavior as “racist” was unlikely to have the effect that progressives imagined. Plenty of people after hearing such claims might reasonably conclude that if, e.g., showing up for work on time is “white supremacy,” then maybe white supremacy isn’t so bad after all. But even if they didn’t reach that conclusion, you’re still not helping matters by making such far-fetched accusations of white supremacy, as in Aesop’s fable of the boy who cried “wolf.” If you run around calling everybody a Nazi, nobody’s going to pay attention to you if you ever do succeed in finding an actual Nazi.

It has been pointed out, by the way, that the CEO of American Eagle is Jay Schottenstein, who is most certainly not a Nazi. In fact — it should not be necessary to say this, but it’s 2025 — you’re not endorsing Nazism, or white supremacy, or eugenics, merely by acknowledging the hereditary nature of such traits as blue eyes, blonde hair and enormous gazongas.

Jeff Goldstein: “Genes are a real thing. It’s ok to acknowledge them. Heredity isn’t Nazi.” Where did anyone ever get the idea that simply recognizing biological reality — children resemble their parents — is some kind of dangerous “hate speech”? What really inspires these hysterical denunciations of Sydney Sweeney? Is it mere ignorance, or is it some kind of emotional disturbance rooted in envy and insecurity?

We may have reached Peak Godwin’s Law this week, and I would hope that the Serious Journalism People are so embarrassed by this that they will re-think their life choices and repent of their sins. As for me, it’s Wednesday, so I’ve got to get working on the Anschluss before I demand the Sudetenland, and I think you know what comes next.

WaPo Finally Dumps Dishonest Partisan Propaganda Merchant Glenn Kessler

Posted on | July 28, 2025 | Comments Off on WaPo Finally Dumps Dishonest Partisan Propaganda Merchant Glenn Kessler

Today is a glorious day of celebration, and if you want to know why I call Glenn Kessler a “dishonest partisan propaganda merchant,” this Breitbart thread on X is a good place to begin, although of course it could never contain every bullshit “fact check” in Kessler’s long and odious career of bullshit fact-checking. When future historians examine how the mainstream media lost all credibility, Glenn Kessler’s career at the Washington Post will certainly deserve its own chapter. The man is to media credibility what Gavrilo Princip was to the empires of Europe.

Ace dowses Kessler in gasoline and lights him on fire:

As you know, the Washington Post sent out an email telling its woke staffers that they should accept the “voluntary” buyout package if they felt they could not “align” with the Post’s new non-woke agenda. The not-so-subtle implication was: Either take the buyout or you’ll be fired and just get the customary two-weeks’ paycheck.
All of the left-wing propagandists are outing themselves, resigning because they know for a fact they cannot be objective and do not wish to be. They wish to be paid propagandists.
The Washington Post will not be replacing Kessler with another “fact” checker. Apparently the Post’s new management has realized that left-wing “fact” checking is just Democrat-Communist propaganda dressed up to look like neutral reportage.
Kessler made that fact painfully clear, even to the water-heads of the Washington Post. . . .
Kessler wanted the buyout because he knew he would be fired in August if he didn’t take it, but “offered” to keep doing left-wing “fact” checks until they found a replacement for him.
And management told him “No thanks, we’re good, clear out your desk.” . . .

In other words? Exit, lying.

After the news broke of Kessler’s departure, I considered writing up a Short History of Fact-Checking as an American Spectator column, and might still do so, but that’s likely to be a 3,000-word opus and there was no way I could do the topic justice in a single day. To condense it severely, however, “fact-checking” began after a series of events, beginning in the mid-1990s, which caused mainstream media to become concerned that they were losing control of the narrative-building function that is essential to their value as “Democratic operatives with bylines.” After the 2002 mid-term elections (when Democrats lost seats, where historically they should have gained seats), David Brock launched Media Matters to try to discredit alternative media, and it was just around that time that “fact-checking” became a thing. Here is a brief snippet of something Glenn Kessler wrote in 2014:

The [fact-checking] trend kicked off in the United States, largely in response to the domestic media’s failure to properly vet the Bush administration’s claims about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq in the run-up to the 2003 invasion. There are now three main fact-checking organizations based in the United States: FactCheck.org, founded in 2003 in affiliation with the University of Pennsylvania; PolitiFact, created in 2007 by the Tampa Bay Times; and The Fact Checker, created in 2007 by The Washington Post. Countless local newspapers and television channels run their own on-air fact-checking programs, especially during election seasons.

In his telling, then, it was opposition to the Bush administration’s Iraq policy which inspired the creation of “fact-checking,” which is to say, it was a partisan political effort to help Democrats, period. Never mind the errors of Bush’s Iraq policy. When did the major media ever feel the need to organize against any Democratic administration’s policy, foreign or domestic? What pissed them off was the Republicans were winning elections — remember John “Swift Boat” Kerry? — and the liberal media believed “right-wing” media (Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, etc.) was to blame for this. “Fact-checking” was about attacking Republicans and defending Democrats, and it was never about anything else.

Anyway, I might expand that brief summary to a detailed 3,000-word column, but not right now. I’m exhausted from all this dancing in glee. We are so #winning and the liberals are so #losing.

Crazy People Are Dangerous

Posted on | July 28, 2025 | Comments Off on Crazy People Are Dangerous

Say hello to Brandon Gille and, while you’re at it, go ahead and say good-bye, because he will almost certainly spend the rest of his life behind bars. Gille went on a stabbing spree at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, on Saturday. All 11 of his victims survived the attack and, for once, the “Ann Coulter Rule” turned out to be wrong in this case. Police were for some reason unwilling to identify the suspect in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s attack, even though they had the guy in custody. The Ann Coulter Rule specifies that, the longer the police delay identifying the perp, the greater the likelihood that it’s not a white guy. So everybody was speculating that the Traverse City stabber must be a Muslim or perhaps an illegal immigrant, but it turned out to be a crazy white guy.

Apologies are owed to everyone in Michigan named Mohammad or José, and also to all the psychiatric patients who did not go on a stabbing spree Saturday. We’re sorry for the unfair suspicion. Blame the cops.

Did I mention he’s crazy? Yeah, cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs:

He has multiple past arrests for criminal mischief and drug offenses and previously served 49 days in jail in Florida in 2014 for vandalism.
Two possible self-published books by Gille and available on Amazon reveal him as a born-again Christian.
The author turned to prayer at age 14 in 1997 after the “unfortunate loss of one of my close friends,” the blurb on one of the books reads.
The book, which purports to be autobiographical, lays out how its author had dreams tracing his past lives back millions of years.
“Some of those New Testament dreams of mine portrayed me as Jesus Christ or God and him as Judas Iscariot,” the writer says.
In another book published in January last year, the author describes an apparent autobiographical account of his “astonishing revelation of his own identity as Jesus Christ and the spirit as Judas Iscariot.”

Going to guess that this delusional guy with a history of drug abuse was homeless. Crazy People Are Dangerous. And now for the good news:

A stabbing attack at a Walmart store in Traverse City, Michigan, left 11 people injured on Sunday. But what could have been far worse was stopped by a two bystanders, and one man in particular is being praised across social media, Derrick Perry.
Video from the scene, later verified by CNN, shows the suspect being cornered in the parking lot by a group of civilians. One man stands out, pointing a gun directly at the suspect, keeping him frozen in place until police arrived. That man is Perry.
While authorities haven’t officially named him, Perry’s family and locals have identified him in Facebook posts, calling him a true hero.

A couple of weeks ago on X I was inspired to rip on various Euros who thought they were some kind of classy for having various tatterdemalion castles scattered about by pointing out that not only did we have pyramids, we could afford to build them in the middle of nowhere and have them shoot down ICBMs. One thing led to another, and Grok drew me a pic of Safeguard-chan, maintaining her lonely vigil amidst the wheatfields of North Dakota.
