The media-generated anti-Trump hysteria never ends:
House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff announced Tuesday that the whistleblower who filed a mysterious complaint, which includes allegations about President Donald Trump’s conduct, would like to speak to the committee.
The whistleblower has requested guidance from acting DNI Joseph Maguire on how to do so, Schiff said.
“We have been informed by the whistleblower’s counsel that their client would like to speak to our committee and has requested guidance from the Acting DNI as to how to do so,” Schiff tweeted.
“We’re in touch with counsel and look forward to the whistleblower’s testimony as soon as this week,” he added.
The whisteblower’s legal counsel did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.
That news came shortly after Trump said Tuesday he will release the “unredacted transcript” of his July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — a call which has been scrutinized in the wake of the whistleblower complaint and Trump’s admission that he pushed Zelensky to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter during the conversation.
There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe or Hunter Biden.
“I am currently at the United Nations representing our Country, but have authorized the release tomorrow of the complete, fully declassified and unredacted transcript of my phone conversation with President Zelensky of Ukraine,” Trump tweeted while attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Everybody needs to calm the hell down. My expectation is that this latest “scandal” will prove to be nothing, and that it will end up hurting Democrats more than it hurts Trump. Be patient.
Trump Country

In 2016, Donald Trump got 84% of the vote in Johnson County, Kentucky. And you may ask, “Why does this matter?” Because there’s a tiny community in Johnson County called Butcher Hollow, which is the birthplace of Loretta Lynn, the First Lady of Country Music. If you start looking up the hometowns of Grand Ole Opry legends, you’ll find that practically all of them come from places that voted for Trump, including Merle Haggard, who was born in Kern County, California, which went for Trump by a 13-point margin. The political geography of country music might tell us more about America than just about any other metric:
Dwight Yoakam had me in tears Sunday night. I was watching the new Ken Burns PBS documentary series about the history of country music, and Yoakam quoted a Merle Haggard song, “Holding Things Together,” which is about a man trying to raise his children after his wife has left the family. When Yoakam sang the verse about a heartbroken father attempting to comfort his daughter on her birthday, he choked up, and suddenly the tears were streaming from my eyes, too.
They just don’t write ’em like that anymore, not even in Nashville. Those old songs about hard times and broken hearts, crying in your beer over a cheating woman — you can literally feel the pain in the twanging voices and the whining steel guitars. And the men and women who sang those songs knew a thing or two about hard times, having come from backgrounds of poverty that few Americans in the 21st century can imagine.
Give credit to Burns for this: His eight-part series reminds us that what our contemporary progressives denounce as “white privilege” has never been universal in America, and it certainly didn’t typify the backgrounds of the folks who made Nashville famous as “Music City, U.S.A.” Haggard, for example, was born in Kern County, California, in 1937, the youngest of three children in a family that had left a farm in Oklahoma after their barn burned down. The Haggards were “Okies,” characters right out of a Steinbeck novel, at the bottom of the heap in one of the worst economic eras in American history. . . .

Feminists support abortion, an inherent evil, and in doing so, permit rapists to destroy evidence of their crimes:
In defending himself and his clinics against state allegations, the Illinois physician [Ulrich Klopfer] recounted how he performed an abortion on a 10-year-old girl who was raped by her uncle, never reporting the crime to police and, as a result, helping her parents cover up the atrocity by a family member. State officials cited the sickening defense as part of their reason for stripping him of his medical license. He was previously charged with failing to report performing abortions on two 13-year-olds.
According to a complaint filed by the Indiana Medical Licensing Board, Klopfer worked in clinics in South Bend, Gary and Fort Wayne from 2012 to 2015.
With thousands of ghoulishly stored dead bodies straight out of a horror movie, medical malpractice and a multistate mystery, you’d think the news media would be all over this story. Not so much.
How do such people sleep at night? How do feminists justify their association with monsters like Klopfer? And why are journalists unwilling to tell the truth about what is done in the name of “choice”?

Climate Cult Goes Mad: ‘How Dare You!’
Posted on | September 23, 2019 | Comments Off on Climate Cult Goes Mad: ‘How Dare You!’
Ryan Saavedra reports at Daily Wire:
Far-left climate extremist Greta Thunberg had a meltdown while speaking at the United Nations on Monday about climate change, claiming that the state of the world is on the verge of collapse. . . .
Thunberg repeatedly condemned adults by dramatically saying, “how dare you!” as she warned of a future that she suggested may not even exist due to climate change.
“My message is that we’ll be watching you. This is all wrong, I shouldn’t be up here, I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean,” Thunberg began. “Yet, you all come to us young people for hope, how dare you. You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words and yet I’m one of the lucky ones. People are suffering, people are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth.”
Thunberg’s speech, which was widely criticized online as bordering on child abuse, also included statements that could be perceived as threatening, including the statement: “If you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with this.”

Well, chess isn’t now and never really has been just for boys, and it’s nice to see attractive young ladies taking up the game and doing quite well at it. For example, International Master Cecile Hauusernot, four-time French youth champion and two-time European gold medalist, who in addition to being damn good at chess is also very easy on the eyes.

A Great Football Saturday
Posted on | September 22, 2019 | Comments Off on A Great Football Saturday
For the opening of The Other Podcast, I did “College Football Scoreboard,” figuring that every real American cares as much as I do, because if you don’t love college football, what are you, a Commie?
Assuming you are not a Communist, you had to love Saturday, because Alabama won big (of course), and there were some other good games.
First, Georgia came back with 16 points in the second half to defeat No. 7 Notre Dame 23-17. Now, the No. 3 Bulldogs were playing at home and were a two-touchdown favorite going into the game, but when the Irish took lead early — after recovering a fumbled punt return at the Georgia 8 — it looked like it might be a long day for the ’Dawgs. Led by their great quarterback Jack Fromm, Georgia quickly evened the score, and Georgia’s hard-fought win vindicated the SEC’s dominance.
Speaking of the SEC, Texas A&M played a good game against No. 8 Auburn, but even 17 points in the fourth quarter wasn’t enough. Cal-Berkeley, rated No. 23 nationally, had its hands full playing at unranked Ole Miss. Talk about a culture clash: The team from Antifa playing in Mississippi? Alas, the Rebels lost 28-20, but it was close.
Upsets were common this week: TCU (#25) got beat at home by unranked SMU, Arizona State (#24) lost at home to unranked Colorado, and unranked Pitt beat #15 UCF, but the real barn-burner was on the West Coast, where #19 Washington State was upset by unranked UCLA 67-63. Like, you scored nine touchdowns and still lost the game? Wow.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my enthusiasm. Football is awesome, and anyone who says otherwise is a Commie.
