The Man Who Killed the Sixties

Posted on | November 20, 2017 | 1 Comment

Charles Manson died Sunday night. You have to be a certain age — and at 58, I’m just barely old enough — to understand just what a notorious public symbol Manson was, and what the infamous “Helter Skelter” murders signified. To put it as simply as possible, Charles Manson is the man who killed the Sixties. The whole “peace and love” vibe of hippie culture, and all the hopes and dreams invested in it, were metaphorically stabbed to death in the summer of 1969.

“Tune in, turn on, drop out,” LSD guru Timothy Leary had told young people, and there was a naïve optimism in the idea that young people could skip the rat-race materialism and keeping-up-with-the-Joneses materialism of their parents’ generation. The nightmares of war in Vietnam and riots in urban ghettos had exposed the spiritual bankruptcy at the heart of LBJ’s “Great Society.” Meanwhile, the Sexual Revolution was running in high gear, accompanied by a rock-and-roll soundtrack, and in 1967, young would-be revolutionaries headed to San Francisco for the so-called “Summer of Love.”

Coincidentally, that same year, a lifelong criminal was paroled from federal prison. Manson was 32 when he was paroled in 1967. He had learned to play guitar in prison and grown his hair long, and he showed up on the streets of San Francisco that summer looking like a hippie Jesus. A former pimp, Manson had a keen eye for vulnerable young women, of whom they were many among the hippie horde who thronged the Haight-Ashbury district. Manson gathered a harem of female followers, which at one point included as many as 18 women, some of them teenage runaways. He and his core followers, the so-called “Manson Family” departed San Francisco in an old school bus, roaming up and down the West Coast before settling into the Spahn Ranch, a rundown former site for cowboy movies in Topanga Canyon near Los Angeles. It was there, in a drug-induced mania inspired by lyrics of a Beatles album, that Manson became obsessed with the idea of an apocalyptic race war that he and his disciples were destined to inaugurate.

Manson and his followers perpetrated two murders — of drug dealer Bernard Crowe and fringe Family associate Gary Hinman — in June and July 1969 before they set out to commit the two atrocities that made national headlines, the Tate-LaBianco murders. Five people, including actress Sharon Tate, were killed Aug. 9, and supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary were murdered Aug. 10.

Rich people being brutally murdered in mansions captured public attention, and when the LAPD’s investigation led to the December 1969 arrest of Manson and his weird group of drug-addled followers, the “peace and love” image of hippie culture was shattered forever.

There was no justice in the case, because the Supreme Court had struck down the death penalty, which meant that Manson spent decades living in prison at taxpayer expense. Now he is dead at age 83, and with his death, America has another occasion to remember the deadly lesson of what happens when people go chasing after utopian dreams.

Rule 5 Sunday: Thanksgiving Edition

It’s that time of the year again, when families all over America reunite to celebrate the blessings of liberty by consuming mass quantities of home-cooked food and watching football. Or, going out to the local casino buffet, as the case may be. So, this week we celebrate the popular trope of scantily-clad women in the kitchen, because they’re cooking up something good.
As usual, many of the following links are to pics generally considered NSFW. The management is not responsible for any ill effects resulting from your failure to exercise discretion in clicking, including (but not limited to) lumpy gravy, runny mashed potatoes, dry turkey, overcooked veggies, bland stuffing, overly salty ham, and really awful homemade pie crusts. Y’all been warned.

“Women belong in the kitchen. Men belong in the kitchen. Everybody belongs in the kitchen – that’s where the food is!”

Transgender Activists Target GOP

Posted on | November 19, 2017 | Comments Off on Transgender Activists Target GOP

Danica Roem is a transgender Democrat.

Cynthia Yockey reports on how Democrats plan to win in 2018 and beyond:

[Transgender candidate Danica] Roem raised $806,825 to the $305,170 raised by Bob Marshall. Roem’s biggest donor was millionaire Chris Abele, chairman of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, which donates to the campaigns of LGBTQ candidates. Abele gave Roem his first big donation of $10,000 in May and two donations in October totaling $75,000. Abele personally donated a total of $190,000 to Roem’s campaign, while the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund gave $3,000.
In 2018, transgender activist candidates will be even richer and more assured of victory in their local and state elections, thanks to the $26 million the Human Rights Campaign announced in July that it will spend to hire 20 new employees to support LGBTQ candidates and influence elections at every level in six battleground states: Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. HRC leaders are obviously thinking ahead to the 2020 presidential race because these states accounted for 81 votes in the Electoral College in 2016 and Trump won in five of them. In the overall count, Hillary carried Nevada but lost by 77 electoral votes. . . .

The Latest @LenaDunham Debacle: Feminist Becomes ‘Rape Truther’

Posted on | November 19, 2017 | 3 Comments

Left to right: Lena Dunham, Aurora Perrineau, Murray Miller.

When the University of Virginia rape hoax began to collapse under the weight of Jackie Coakley’s lies in December 2014, Amanda Marcotte coined the term “rape truther” to describe “people who want to deny that rape is a serious social problem.” This was a dishonest smear. Critics of Rolling Stone‘s bogus journalism weren’t denying the seriousness of rape, although many were dubious of the widely touted “1-in-5” statistic used to justify Obama-era Title IX policy that deprived male students of their due-process rights in campus disciplinary proceedings.

“Rape truthers,” Marcotte said, “want to push the idea that many rape cases are just a matter of women lying because they are crazy or vindictive.” Well, this depends on what you mean by “rape cases” and what you mean by “many.” Amid the climate of sexual paranoia ginned up by campus feminists, there seemed to be “many” instances where belated remorse over a drunken hookup gave rise to accusations of rape. Under university policies mandated by Obama-era rules, these “cases” were not reported to police, but rather were adjudicated in administrative hearings where the accused male student was quite deliberately denied basic rights that would be accorded to any common criminal.

The UVA hoax was the very worst example of this problem. Jackie Coakley invented her fictional rapist, “Haven Monahan,” made up a wild tale of violent gang rape that implicated one of the most prestigious fraternities on campus, and nearly got away with deceiving the world, had it not been for those determined critics who inspired other journalists to double-check Sabrina Erdely Rubin’s lurid Rolling Stone article. Before the truth could be discovered, however, UVA President Teresa Sullivan suspended all fraternity social activities on campus and, even after police cleared Phi Kappa Psi, Sullivan imposed new restrictions on fraternities. Feminists exploited a false accusation of rape to create a mentality of collective guilt that became the basis of policy, and this was a microcosm of how the Obama administration’s “Dear Colleague” letter had weaponized Title IX to punish male students. So, yes, the truth at UVA mattered, but Amanda Marcotte didn’t want to admit this.

Fast forward, three years after the collapse of the UVA rape hoax, and the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse is upon us. Every day brings new accusations, including this terrifying tale of Hollywood depravity:

Actress Aurora Perrineau has gone to police to accuse “Girls” writer and executive producer Murray Miller of raping her in 2012, when she was 17 years old, TheWrap has exclusively learned.
Perrineau, who has appeared in Jennifer Lawrence’s “Passengers” and is the daughter of “Lost” actor Harold Perrineau, told TheWrap she filed a report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Friday.
TheWrap obtained the results of a polygraph test Perrineau said she passed in September in which she detailed her accusations against Murray, who was also a producer on the Fox animated comedies “King of the Hill” and “American Dad.”

The creator of Girls defended the man accused of raping a girl:

Lena Dunham came to the defense of a “Girls” writer accused of rape on Friday, and some Twitter users have called her out for choosing to support the alleged perpetrator over his female accuser.
“Never call yourself an advocate for women again because you’ve just proven that you are NOT,” one user wrote. Several others dug up a tweet of Dunham’s from August in which she said women do not lie about rape.
The backlash came after Dunham spoke out against actress Aurora Perrineau, who filed a police report on Friday saying she did not consent to sex with “Girls” writer Murray Miller in 2012 when she was 17. . . .
“While our first instinct is to listen to every woman’s story, our insider knowledge of Murray’s situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3% of assault cases that are misreported every year,” Dunham said in a statement cosigned by her “Girls” showrunner Jenni Konner. . . .
“Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner have spent so much time boasting about their feminist political commitments. Yet, all of their feminist righteousness goes out of the window as soon as their friend is accused. White women are an absolute trip,” wrote Bitch Media senior culture editor Evette Dionne. . . .
Perrineau said she was with two friends when Miller asked one of them for a ride home “because he was drunk,” and the group agreed. Miller was 35 at the time. “At some point, I woke up in Murray’s bed naked. He was on top of me having sexual intercourse with me. At no time did I consent to any sexual contact with Murray,” she said in a statement.

A 17-year-old girl wakes up with a drunk 35-year-old man on top of her — allegedly, I hasten to add — and suddenly Lena Dunham forgets all about her feminist principles, accusing the girl of lying?

2017: Everybody’s Guilty

Posted on | November 17, 2017 | 2 Comments

Democrats are now calling for Al Franken to resign from the Senate because he’s been caught acting like a Democrat:

Two prominent members of Minnesota’s Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party are calling on Sen. Al Franken to resign his Senate seat following allegations of sexual misconduct.
Although many other Democrats have called the former comedian’s actions disturbing, state auditor Rebecca Otto and Megan Thomas, president of the party’s official Feminist Caucus, say he should leave office.
The allegations were made Thursday morning by radio host Leeann Tweeden, who said Franken harassed her during a 2006 USO trip to the Middle East, before he was elected to the Senate in 2008.
Tweeden said Franken wrote a play to be performed in front of troops featuring a kiss, and then forced his tongue into her mouth after insisting on practice. A photo also shows a grinning Franken’s hands over Tweeden’s breasts while she was asleep.
Otto, a candidate for governor in Minnesota, said in a statement that “I believe it’s in the best interest of Minnesotans and of women everywhere for Senator Franken to resign, and to set an example to powerful men across America that sexual harassment will not be tolerated.”
Thomas, meanwhile, told the Washington Examiner that Franken’s misconduct was “every woman’s nightmare on a bus.” In a Facebook post, the longtime party organizer wrote that while she appreciated his progressive vote record, the fear Franken will instill in women is enough reason for his departure.

Franken is arguably guilty of infractions less heinous than Bill Clinton’s multiple sexual misdeeds and, of course, Roy Moore was a Democrat in the years when he was allegedly cruising for teenage girls at the Gadsden Mall. These are trivial distinctions, however, in the Salem witch-hunt hysteria of the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse that began with the exposure of Harvey Weinstein’s career as Hollywood’s leading lecher.

All that matters, in this latter-day Salem, is that the accused are male, and any male who ever tried to get laid — or ever made a joke about trying to get laid, or otherwise expressed interest in getting laid — is guilty. Any man who ever made an “unwanted sexual advance” is doomed to destruction, and never mind your silly questions about how he was supposed to know his “advance” was “unwanted” prior to making it.

No mercy! If Academy-award winners and U.S. Senators can be automatically condemned the moment an accusation is made, the ordinary boy who flirts with the ordinary girl — at college or at work or anywhere else — is now on notice that he is at risk of career destruction. Perhaps 20 or 30 years from now, when he has become a successful adult, he’ll be dragged into the court of public opinion for a star-chamber trial, accused of having once winked at a girl and made a bad pun when he was 19. The old game of trying to get to second base on the first date? That’s over. It’s 2017 and male heterosexuality is a crime.

This was what I was warning about back in 2014, when the “campus rape epidemic” hysteria was raging and Emma Sulkowicz was hailed as a feminist icon for carrying a mattress around Columbia University. Paul Nungesser was defamed as a rapist over an unhappy hookup with Sulkowicz two years earlier, and anyone who criticized the unfairness of this situation was condemned as a “rape apologist.” Now, three years later, Hollywood celebrities, liberal journalists and Democrat politicians are being destroyed by this feminist war of vengeance, and why? Because Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, that’s why.

If Hillary had won, perhaps the sins of Al Franken and Harvey Weinstein never would have made headlines, but with Trump as president, feminists needed scapegoats for their boundless rage. A few famous men must therefore be publicly crucified, in order to terrorize the rest and confirm the feminist message that all men are despicable monsters.

We are living through a götterdämmerung, the end of an era that began half a century ago with the “Summer of Love” in San Francisco.

The Winter of Hate is now upon us, and everybody’s guilty.
