While I usually watch CNN (so you don’t have to), the past couple of days I’ve tuned into MSNBC to see what the real Kool-Aid drinkers are saying, and oh, boy, let me tell you it’s exciting!

New York Times journalist and “Morning Joe” panelist Mara Gay added that the Republicans “first instinct is just to be racist and sexist. I guess that’s, like, a tick that they’ve developed at this point.”
“What they’re actually doing is they are motivating every Democratic voter, every fence sitter, every independent voter, and people who are just disgusted with racism and sexism and want a multi-racial democracy to continue to the polls,” Gay continued.
Gay added that calling for Harris to be more grateful for this country is a “dog whistle, calling her uppity,” and “every Black voter in America knows that.”
“This is really not helping his case, but I guess that’s just their go-to line. When all else fails, just try racism,” Gay said.

It’s difficult for me to describe what’s on MSNBC except to say that there is zero skepticism being expressed toward the idea that Kamala Harris is eminently qualified — nay, perhaps uniquely qualified — to be President of the United States. It’s wall-to-wall enthusiasm and exuberant confidence. Recalling the lyrics of the old cowboy ballad “Home on the Range,” MSNBC is a place where, for Democrats, never is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day.

Donny Deutsch is lovestruck for His Queen:

MSNBC commentator Donny Deutsch said Monday on “Deadline” after Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to campaign staff he was falling in love with her.
Deutsch said, “Wow. You know, there was a twinkle in her eye, there was a kick in her step that, you know, when you’re vice president, you know, you’re not loose. you can’t , there’s somebody above you, somebody you don’t want to overshadow them. So this was quite the coming out. I got chills when she said Donald Trump, I know your type. That was like, wow, she’s going to prosecute this case. And you know, this is going to, she only mentioned the abortion issue once, that wasn’t a big part of the speech, but this is going to be.”
He added, “I said this on the show before women are going to save this country. We have a choice between an assault on women, assault on their bodies and their freedoms and the first female president. And I think women are going to drive the ship. And i was blown away. I was like I kind of fell in love with her. I thought she was smart, engaging. She’s funny, feisty, twinkle in your eye, punch you in the gut. I mean, everything you kind of want. I just thought it was a great, great opening act.”

“There were bells on a hill, but I never heard them ringing. No, I never heard them at all, ’til there was you.” Suffice it to say that it will be difficult for much of the public to form an accurate opinion of Her Highness so long as this media tongue-bath continues, and Republicans should not be surprised that, at this point, polls show Harris doing better against Trump than Biden was doing before the coup d’etat.

Do not sweat it, my friends. History shows that Kamala’s popularity tends to wane as her exposure increases. The more attention people pay to her, the less they like her. After the first Democratic primary debate in 2019, Kamala was the New “It” Girl, surging to second place (at 17%) in the CNN poll, behind Biden (at 22%), and ahead of Elizabeth Warren (15%) and Bernie Sanders (14%). But then came the second debate, where Harris got carved up by Tulsi Gabbard, and the bottom fell out. The next CNN poll had her at just 5%, in a tie for fourth place with Pete Buttigieg. She quit the race barely three months later, before a single primary vote was cast. To know her is to hate her: “Kamala Harris’ office has had a staggering 91.5 percent turnover rate since she became vice president.”

So, right now, while Kamala is getting her media honeymoon, being bombarded with love notes from her admirers, everything is “music and wonderful roses . . . in sweet fragrant meadows” on MSNBC.

Don’t expect this to last. Be patient, my racist sexist friends.

Secret Service Boss Resigns After Disastrous Congressional Testimony

Well, that was quick:

Embattled Secret Service chief Kimberly Cheatle has announced she will resign from her post less than two weeks after the agency’s calamitous failure at Donald Trump’s July 13 campaign rally led to him being wounded by an assassin’s bullet.
Cheatle, a 28-year veteran of the agency, faced mounting pressure to step down in recent days but insisted all along she would remain on the job. She announced her resignation in a letter to agency staffers on Tuesday morning.
“I have, and will always put the needs of this agency first. In light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to step down as your Director,” Cheatle wrote in the letter, which was obtain by The Post.
She said she didn’t want the growing calls for her resignation to be “a distraction from the great work each and every one of you do towards our vital mission.”
Following the rally shooting — which left the former president nicked in the ear, two supporters badly wounded and a volunteer fire fighter dead — Cheatle made a series of missteps that did little to reassure lawmakers or the American public that she was fit to remain in the role.
Among her baffling remarks was an admission to ABC News that the reason Secret Service agents weren’t posted on the roof from which Thomas Matthew Crooks fired on the rally crowd was because it was too “sloped,” creating an unacceptable “safety factor” for the agents.
The agency’s failure to adequately secure the roof gave the 20-year-old an unobstructed line of sight to the GOP standard bearer, leading to the first assassination attempt against a sitting or former US president since 1981.
At a House Oversight Committee meeting yesterday, Cheatle admitted the agency’s rally response was a “failure” but still gave her agents an “A” grade for the job they did that day.

Her testimony to the Oversight Committee was a wall-to-wall catastrophe, and it’s not at all surprising she has decided to quit.

Snopes Attacks ‘Unfounded Rumor’ of Biden’s Medical Emergency in Vegas

Last Wednesday, I reported (“Exit Strategy? Biden Tests Positive for COVID, Retreats to Delaware”) about the official reason given when Joe Biden abruptly canceled an event in Las Vegas. He was seen boarding Air Force One and hasn’t been seen in public since then. What happened instead was that on Sunday afternoon, the Biden campaign issued a statement from Biden stating that he was ending his reelection campaign and endorsing Kamala Harris. That was more than 36 hours ago, and there has still been no public appearance by Biden, although he did phone into a meeting with Kamala on Monday afternoon:

The president called into the meeting from his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he is recovering from COVID-19, to lend his support to Harris. He planned to talk about his decision to step aside in an address to the nation later this week.
“The name has changed at the top of the ticket, but the mission hasn’t changed at all,” Biden said in his first public remarks since announcing his decision to step aside, promising he was “not going anywhere” and plans to campaign on Harris’ behalf.
Biden said of his decision, “It was the right thing to do.”
As he handed off the mantle of leadership to Harris, Biden added: “I’m watching you kid. I love you.”

Yet Americans have not seen the president since last Wednesday, and on Monday, Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA posted this:

Got a weird lead on a story that people should look into. I got a call from a source close to Las Vegas Metro. The official story was that Joe Biden’s trip was cut short last week due to COVID. However, according to this source, US Secret Service informed LV Metro that there was an emergency situation involving Joe Biden and to close necessary streets so that POTUS could be transported immediately to University Medical, which they began to do in earnest. Then, mysteriously, there was a stand down order and the USSS informed local Vegas PD that they were going to “medivac” POTUS to Johns Hopkins, which they presumed meant fly him back east ASAP. Apparently the rumor mill in the police department was that Joe Biden was dying or possibly already dead.
I didn’t think too much about this lead, seemed too wild to be true, but given that Joe Biden has been out of public sight for days and dropped out of the race via an X post, and his brother James indicated health was a factor, I’m beginning to grow more curious if COVID or something else has been more serious than reported.

Within a few hours, Jordan Schachtel claimed to have confirmed Kirk’s account of the incident. In addition to saying police sources in Vegas stood by this version of events, Schachtel noted that (a) the local NBC affiliate in Vegas, KSNV-TV, reported: “Law enforcement and medical teams gathered outside the University Medical Center trauma room entrance” Wednesday in anticipation that Biden would be brought there; and (b) “Emily Goodin, the senior White House correspondent for The Daily Mail, reported that on the journey back east, Air Force One ‘flew so fast the plane shook,’ arriving in Dover in just 3 hours and 48 minutes.”

But now comes the headline from “fact-checker” Snopes:

Unfounded Rumor Says Biden
Had Undisclosed Medical Emergency
in Vegas Mid-July 2024

And . . . they got nothing. Which is to say, Snopes has in no way debunked or refuted anything said by Charlie Kirk or Jordan Schachtel. All they have done is to apply the pejorative label “unfounded rumor” to the story, as if this were sufficient to disprove it. As “journalism,” what Snopes does is so shoddy that no reputable reporter would work there.

You don’t have to be a “conspiracy theorist” to believe what people are telling Charlie Kirk and Jordan Schachtel about what happened in Vegas. The verifiable facts — emergency preparations at the hospital and the unusually fast Air Force One flight back to Delaware — can be interpreted as White House staff acting “with an abundance of caution” in regard to a health problem for the 81-year-old president. Joe gets a case of sniffles, the doctor is called in, the staff initiates “standard protocols,” and what do you think that looks like? Exactly what Kirk and Schachtel reported.

What editor at Snopes decided that this needed to be “fact-checked,” and why? Isn’t it simply an attempt to smear “right wing” sources, an effort to discredit those outside the media establishment who dare to point out facts that don’t fit the official Democrat-approved narrative?

We are supposed to just smile and nod amiably, to accept without question whatever we are told by Approved Media Outlets, and never even wonder if maybe there are some things they’re not telling us. That’s why they have “fact-checkers” constantly monitoring the Internet to make sure that nobody posts an “unfounded rumor” which might undermine or contradict the (apparently fragile) version of reality promoted by Approved Media Outlets, as if the world might collapse into confusion were any doubt permitted to go un-fact-checked.

BOOM! Trump Campaign Hits Harris Immediately: ‘Kamala Was In On It’

While today’s announcement caught me by surprise, obviously Team Trump was prepared in advance for this contingency:

The Democratic party baton has not officially passed from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris, but already, the vice president is facing Republican attacks befitting a presidential front-runner.
Only moments after Biden announced he would not be seeking reelection on Sunday, upending the 2024 race, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and his allies unleashed an offensive against Harris, seeking to tie her to Biden’s record on immigration and criticizing her views as too liberal.
“Kamala was in on it. She covered up Joe’s obvious mental decline,” said a narrator in an ad released Sunday by a Trump-supporting super PAC. “Kamala knew Joe couldn’t do the job, so she did it. Look what she got done: a border invasion, runaway inflation, the American Dream dead.” . . .
Republicans on Capitol Hill, meanwhile, said Biden can’t carry out his duties and called on him to resign from office immediately, a step that, ironically, would make Harris president.
They also sought to turn the tables on the Democrats by arguing that by pushing Biden to step aside, Democratic lawmakers rejected the will of the voters who cast their ballots to make Biden the nominee earlier this year.
“Having invalidated the votes of more than 14 million Americans who selected Joe Biden to be the Democrat nominee for president, the self-proclaimed ‘party of democracy’ has proven exactly the opposite,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said in a statement Sunday.
“The party’s prospects are no better now with Vice President Kamala Harris, who co-owns the disastrous policy failures of the Biden Administration,” he added.
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), meanwhile, pointed to Harris’ statements in the past defending Biden from questions surrounding his age as a reason not to trust her candidacy.
“For four years, those closest to Joe Biden, including Kamala Harris, knew he was not fit to be president and lied to the American people in an effort to hold onto their power,” Scott said in a statement. “It was painfully clear that Biden wasn’t competent for office going way back to 2021.”

BIDEN DROPS REELECTION BID; THROWS SUPPORT TO VP HARRIS

The elderly dementia patient is withdrawing his candidacy for a second term, but will remain in office as president:

President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he will end his presidential re-election campaign, bringing an abrupt and humbling conclusion to his half-century-long political career and scrambling the race for the White House just four months before Election Day.
Biden, 81, could not reverse growing sentiment within his party that he was too frail to serve and destined to lose to Donald Trump in November. He backed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee.
“While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a letter posted on X. “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”
Biden thanked Harris for “being an extraordinary partner” in his letter and then endorsed her in a subsequent post.
“My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President,” Biden posted. “And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.”

The Democratic Party told its voters that they could not be trusted to select a nominee when they effectively shut down their primary process. Now, they are installing a new nominee. American voters happen to like democracy. I predict some backlash.

Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right all along about Biden not being mentally fit enough to serve as Commander-in-Chief.

For the past four years, Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) conspired to conceal from the American people the fact that Joe Biden is too feeble-minded to exercise the office of president. That charade was exposed by the June 27 debate. Yet now, forced to admit the obvious, Biden is still hanging on for the next five months?

Biden has now officially endorsed his vice president to become the Democratic Party presidential nominee. That’s bad news for Democrat operatives who were hoping to bypass her for someone more electable by holding a “mini-primary.”
Does this mean Harris is automatically the nominee? The answer is no, but what this does is paint Democrats into a corner. With Biden having stepped aside, he’s already done them a massive favor. For there to be any movement against Harris at this point would cause a huge rift within the Democratic Party. Yes, she’s deeply unpopular and losing to Trump according to the current polling, but she’s the vice president and she checks way too many intersectional boxes to be pushed aside.
In short, this could get really ugly going forward. Either Harris is coronated and there’s some semblance of unity within the party or others step up to challenge her and you’ve got chaos. The Democratic Party is a fractured mess of different factions, and African Americans are one of the most powerful within it. To slight them would be a disaster.
Regardless, no American voter should forget who lied to them. If the nominee does end up being Kamala Harris, she knew about Biden’s condition. She was in the administration that covered it up and trashed anyone who dared question the official narrative. She is culpable, and the fact that she misled voters is a genuine scandal. This fight is just beginning.

At this unprecedented juncture in American history, we must be clear about what just happened. The Democrat Party forced the Democrat nominee off the ballot, just over 100 days before the election.
Having invalidated the votes of more than 14 million Americans who selected Joe Biden to be the Democrat nominee for president, the self-proclaimed ‘party of democracy’ has proven exactly the opposite.
The party’s prospects are no better now with Vice President Kamala Harris, who co-owns the disastrous policy failures of the Biden Administration. As second in command and a completely inept border czar, Harris has been a gleeful accomplice — not only in the destruction of American sovereignty, security, and prosperity, but also in the largest political coverup in U.S. history. She has known for as long as anyone of his incapacity to serve.
Regardless of the chaos in the current White House, our adversaries around the globe should be reminded that the U.S. Congress, the U.S. military, and the American people are fully prepared and committed to defend our interests both at home and abroad.
If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough.
