Ui2: Schweet Aggregation

Posted on | January 21, 2010 | 13 Comments

Ui2 is an interesting Web news-blog aggregator site that is also — what a coincidence! — a new advertiser at The Other McCain. Here are a few headlines I picked up from the front page there yesterday afternoon:

And here are some links from Ui2’s “Uber Blogs” aggregation:

Due to technical problems over the weekend — Smitty has sworn a blood oath that these problems will never happen again — our BlogAds were dysfunctional for several hours, and I owe these guys some extra traffic. So please visit Ui2 now.

The Shark Feeding Frenzy Starting? My Money – The Smart Money, Is On The Clintons.

I linked to Monica Crowleys’s article and post on this topic The Return Of 42. Bill Clinton met with Barack H Obama to give him some advice. I think it’s a mistake to underestimate Bill Clinton at anytime, anywhere but the Obama administration isn’t strong on their learning from history….If I was Barack H Obama, I would be watching my back. On Malkin’s Blog she has a post up The Kossacks are attacking Hillbuzz for their PUMA stance on Scott Brown, how stupid is this to attack Hillary Clinton Supporters?

I like what I see over at Ui2 [despite a certain white supremeisist raaaaacist’s site being featured as a Uber Blog*].

Who runs the site? Does anyone know? The Whois contacts/owners are blocked.

*’Uber’ huh…does this mean you’re also a Nazi, Stacy?

Thanks for the kind linkage! Seems like Ui2 popped up from nowhere. Who are they?

Thanks for the shout-out Stacy! And thanks to the folks commenting – yes, we’re new to the scene. The idea for Ui2 has been percolating for a while, and we’re just out of beta.

I think there’s a real need for a new kind of editorial aggregation, especially considering the challenges for the conservative movement over the next several years.

Editorially, it’s pretty simple: We’re featuring sites we dig, such as RIght Klick and The Other McCain. And sometimes we will highlight lesser known blogs to call attention to new voices (check out Amy Proctor). So we have some content that shows up only in our Tag features (check them out – there’s a topical Tag feed on every page), and other content that we feature under the site’s masthead. We’ll rotate some of these features in and out over time.

A note about me: I’m an internet entrepreneur since 1998 and run the e-commerce division of a retail chain. Before that, I was a record producer/engineer in Nashville. I’m also a homeschooling father of five, so it doesn’t leave a lot of time for political involvement. So Ui2 is a way that I can leverage my time to hopefully help the cause.

A lot of cool stuff is still in development, so we’ll be changing some things up over the next few months. This weekend we’ll be bringing on a few new feeds, including Legal Insurrection and SCOTUSblog. I’m anxious to get feedback and ideas, so hit me up any time with an email to “editor”.

I’ve been using Ui2 since RSM posted this. It’s fantastic – I like it better than my RSS reader form my phone. Thanks for the heads up to RSM and thanks to Craig for the great tool.
