Dan Riehl and the Zero Hour

Posted on | July 6, 2010 | 4 Comments

He now averages more than a quarter-million visitors per month, but when he started out blogging in 2004 . . . eh, not so much:

I remember trying to deduct my own visits from my sitemeter one day, figuring I had had about 17 actual visitors for 24 hrs.

Having the persistence to stick with it — to reach the milestone of 15,000 posts — is a tribute to Dan’s bulldog tenacity.

Or maybe he’s just freakin’ nuts, which is my excuse.

I am heading the other direction. I want a blog that I can use to pretend to have an audience for for advertising revenue, but not have the headaches of actually catering to readers, virtually all who I find at best annoying. I better ban a few dozen more right now.
