Robert –

Have you watched cable news lately? The Tea Baggers are everywhere!

The Tea Party is news because they’ve won a few upset primaries — but let’s be honest — that’s not the only reason they’re getting wall-to-wall coverage. Honestly, that weirdly racist tinge makes for good TV. Bizarre, wide-eyed accusations of the President and hilariously misspelled signs demanding an English-only country will drive up news ratings. I don’t mind, though. People should know about these extremists.

But the best-kept secret of 2010 is that progressives have won primaries up and down the ballot all across the country — way more than Tea Party. That’s right — Progressive challengers have beat out fabled “Mama Grizzlies” in state after state.

Just this week, progressive champion Ann McLane Kuster won a landslide victory in New Hampshire. Earlier this year, progressives won big upset victories in Pennsylvania with Joe Sestak, in North Carolina with Elaine Marshall and in Kentucky with Jack Conway — and that’s just in U.S. Senate races.

But DFA doesn’t just support Senate candidates. We support progressives up and down the ballot in all 50 states. In fact, 67 percent of all DFA-endorsed candidates won their primaries this year. 67 percent! That’s a great record and we couldn’t do it without you. We depend on small contributions from DFA members to make it happen.

Contribute $10 right now and keep beating the Tea Party this November.

With the 2010 Democratic primaries over, just take a look at the work we did together this season:

•43 primary endorsements
•15 federal
•28 non-federal
•67.4 percent of endorsed candidates won their primaries
•60 percent of federal candidates won
•71.4 percent of non-federal candidates won
We didn’t just endorse candidates who we were sure-things or had big names, either. We endorsed local candidates like Toni Preckwinkle in Chicago. She was a reformer running against a corrupt incumbent for Cook County Board President. It was a tough fight, but she ran a grassroots campaign and scored a landslide win in the primary.

We endorsed winning candidates in tough primaries in Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Montana, Nevada and a whole lot of other states. That’s the DFA strategy at work — electing progressive in primaries across the country to take our country back with people-powered campaigns.

The DFA Strategy worked for progressives in the primaries — Contribute $10 now to finish the job in November.

Can’t get enough? Here’s a few more numbers from 2010 primaries. We endorsed four U.S. Senate candidates, 11 U.S. House candidates, three gubernatorial candidates, four candidates running for other statewide office, 16 candidates for State House or State Senate, and five candidates for county or municipal offices — across 24 states.

That’s 43 candidates total — 29 wins — and we couldn’t done it without you.

Now that the primary season is over, all the focus is on winning in November and finishing the job. We must defeat Tea Party Republicans everywhere and we can’t do it without your support.

Contribute $10 today and beat the Tea Baggers in November.

Come November 3, the only reason the Tea Party should be on TV is for losing a lot of elections.

Working together, we’re going to make that happen. Thanks you for everything you do to move America forward.

-Arshad

Thanks for the e-mail, Arshad, but I can’t give you $10 today — I just gave $20 to Christine O’Donnell.

Those Tea Baggers are everywhere, you know . . .

How to not win friends and influence people.
    1. Call people of the largest grassroots movement Teabaggers.
    2. Then ask for money.

Now maybe Mr. Hasan likes to suck on another man’s testicles. Who am I to judge. But most of the tea party people (at least the males) do not.

    @ Rob

The “teabagger” slur is bad enough, but I’m thinking they’ve got a slightly more basic PR problem here.

    Just sayin’ . . .

For example, DFA’s Arshad Hasan mocks the “hilariously misspelled signs” of the “Teabaggers,” but then failed to proofread this sentence:

“That’s 43 candidates total — 29 wins — and we couldn’t done it without you.”

Did anyone notice how he identified Kentucky’s Jack Conway running against Rand Paul as a “Progressive”? That may come as a shock to Conway himself, since he’s been trying to portray himself as a good ole’ boy downhome Kentucky redneck conservative.

When we get the Apologist-in-Chief out of office, maybe we can put Arshad Hasan back on the no-fly list.

The email is bad enough, but it is quite troubling to think there are actually people in this country who hate America enough to send money to these commie scum.

Before taking the country back wouldn’t they actually have to have it? Hey, Hasan? Didn’t someone with that name murder soldiers at Fort Hood? Coincidence?

Despite the state being of his last bastions of positive polling, the best chance for O’Donnell is to entice Obama to come campaign for Coons. He’s desperate for a win on something, anything – it’s well beyond the politics now, he craves the adulation, the cheering, the complimentary op-eds, the fawning, and especially the happy hours they give him prancing about in his room of full-length mirrors.

Of course, Coons, if he is not a complete idiot (and the jury is still out on that), will beg Obama not to come and, if not heeded, will suddenly recall a pressing prior engagement in California for that day.

Arshad Hasan, you being a muslim,

    01) Would you denounce the hardcore islamists principles that you have been brought up as a kid?
    02) Do women have equal rights in every aspect of civil society according to the islamic teachings that you follow?
    03) Would you ask islamists to follow rules the progressive rules that you tend to push on the rest of America?
    04) How in the world does a muslim guy become a progressive? Is it got to do something with your scare of being a religious minority in the US? A progressive muslim is an oxymoron, if you say you do not practice islam, then can you please denounce it?
    05) If you are a practicing muslim, then do you think Jewish people need to be forced by the sword to accept allah?
    06) Please be honest enough to tell your friends on the DFA mailing list, how true muslims view Jewish people. How do your muslim friends view Jewish people, the Israel Arab issues?

Once you can answer these questions you can teach the rest of America what Islam (your religion) teaches about Womens rights and why men in your religion are allowed to marry 4 wives at the same time. Now would you call that conservative or progressive or teabagging?

Before anyone calls me a racist, I am brown skinned. Before you call me Islamophobic and illiterate about Islam, I studied Islam for 10 years before I realized the lie it propagated. Mr. Hasan might want America to be progressive and liberals will soon be ‘sharia compliant’ if progressives like Mr. Hasan have their ways.

Keep up the GREAT work bro Arshad. I saw you on MSNBC the other night, and I can tell that you’re just the type of person needed to give these teabaggers a good shower. Hopefully, I.Q. implants will be available in the near future.
