‘Fight’ Whom, Congressman?

Excuse my visceral reaction to this story:

Cummings: Black community
wants Obama to ‘fight harder’
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said Sunday that African-Americans want President Obama to “fight harder” to create jobs in the struggling U.S. economy.
Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, Cummings said the black community is very protective of Obama and is upset by attacks coming from Republicans on the president. But the lawmaker, ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and former chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said African-Americans want Obama to not concede to Republican demands.
“Almost every African-American person I have talked to has said they want him to fight, and fight harder,” Cummings said. “If the Republicans are not going to work with us, we just have to go it alone. Stand it up to them. Don’t back down. Period. They’re [not] going to give you anything anyway.”

According to Congressman Cummings, then, it is Republicans who are somehow preventing Obama from exercising his job-creation magic.

If we are to take his word for it, “almost every African-American person” shares this bizarre belief. And what will happen if the promised magic fails? Who will get the blame for the lack of job-creation? Will they blame Republicans? Blame the Tea Party? Blame “corporate America”?

Or will they just blame whitey?

It ain’t just liberals who can spot a demagogue blowing a “dog whistle,” you know. Appealing to the credulous resentments of ignorant mobs has long been a political speciality of the Democratic Party, which habitually excites the fears and hatreds of its constituencies, even as it exploits their foolish hopes. (By the way, whatever happened to Peggy Joseph?)

Democrats exercise power through such cynical manipulation of their supporters’ dreams and nightmares. The Democrats grow rich while the people who elect them grow poor and yet always — always — the blame for their failures is externalized onto those hated Emmanuel Goldstein scapegoats, the Republicans.

What’s for supper, Congressman Cummings? “Barbecued unicorn ribs!”

In a democracy, you get the government you deserve. And the fools who vote for Democrats certainly deserve no better than what they’ve gotten from Obama: Absolutely nothing.

UPDATE: Evidently, Congressman Cummings was reading from the White House/DNC/Axelrod/OFA talking-points memo:

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) came out swinging against Republicans in Congress on Saturday as she addressed the unemployed during a forum in Inglewood. . . .
Waters vowed to push Congress to focus on creating more jobs. “I’m not afraid of anybody,” said Waters. “This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned, the ‘tea party’ can go straight to hell.”

So this is now the Axelrod-approved Democrat message: Republicans are to blame for unemployment, and anyone who doesn’t blame Republicans is a cowardly scaredy-cat. And there’s also this:

You’re probably saying to yourself, “Why is Biden demagoguing against Republicans in China?”

But hey, what’s a little Logan Act violation among friends? It’s not like Eric Holder would prosecute the Democrats for obtaining illegal foreign contributions to Obama’s re-election campaign, right?

Cummings was a key player in the health care bill. Pelosi assembled the stupidest members she could find to help put it together.

It was a close contest – rumor has it the final decision came after Cummings debated a rock, and the rock won on points.

Call me a conspiracy nut if you will, but my personal opinion is that all this demagoguery by the Democrats and especially the Black members of Congress is just a prelude to racial violence on a grand scale which in turn would lead to martial law leading to, you guessed it, a moratorium on the next election. Stranger things have happened. I’m just sayin’.

That would be a really stupid move to make. It wouldn’t really surprise me that much, after all, these are Democrats we’re talking about, and when you take a good look at all the union goons and other activist groups who are practically foaming at the mouth 24/7 as it is, it makes it easier to see that happening. But they should also wonder what side the police and military forces are going to come down on. It might not be just like they think it would be. There’s also the point that, once it gets started, it might be impossible to put that toothpaste back in the tube. If it weren’t for those two factors, we probably already would have been through this.

Why is it always “fight whom?” on the conservative blogs when some liberal makes the comment that liberals should fight conservatives on the issues? The answer is obvious: Liberals want Obama to fight conservatives. Who did you think? I suppose conservatives just take Obama’s policies laying down? No, they fought Obama on crap n trade, Obamacare, etc, etc, and they filibustered, and they hurt him politically. Stop with the “fight whom?” garbage.

With liberals its not a matter of fight whom, its fight what, that what being the constitution. Let’s see, let me put my liberal hat on and see what words we can change the definition of to get what we want, or what words we can apply a modern definition to while ignoring the obvious 18th century definition. Here we go, the Right to Free Assembly means you have the constitutional right to go naked in any public place you choose as long as there’s two or more of you. Free exercise of religion means you have the right to engage in ritual sex. Hey, maybe being a liberal ain’t all that bad after all lol

Certainly no one was when he deliberately disabled any scrap of id validation on his donation website in 2008. He’s holding office illegally based on those facts alone.

Liberals want to raise taxes. (They argue that the fact that revenues are currently at their lowest point in 60 years as are income tax rates indicates a need to increase revenue.) Raising tax rates, in and of itself, isn’t un-Constitutional.

The only reason I give this theory credence is that the Democrats spent 2004 and 2008 claiming Bush would suspend elections and impose a dictatorship. If the past is any indication, any time a Democrat accuses a Republican of a crime, the Democrat is committing that very crime.

What makes any tax rate unconstitutional, in my view, is that the productive sector of society is the only one that pays any federal income tax. And a hell of a lot of them don’t pay it, or don’t pay much. Most people either get some, most, or all of it back at the end of the year. You can also make the argument that a progressive tax rate is unconstitutional, or at least just wrong, on the face of it.

If its not unconstitutional, its at least stupid as fuck, especially to talk about raising taxes during hard economic times. Yeah, that will encourage business owners to invest, expand. Hell, I don’t have a business, let’s see, maybe I might want to start one.

Oh wait, that’s right, they’re talking about raising taxes and applying even more regulations, so, nope-fuck that, I’m keeping my money under my-well, never mind.

Now let’s see some Democrat pass some law that says I absolutely am required by law to start a new business, hire Democratic Party riff-faff, and put up with a bunch of union goons. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least, by the way. Yeah, let the people vote on that, I’m sure the people that don’t pay a fucking dime of taxes will be happy as hell to vote to make me pay more.
