Santorum Returns to Iowa

Posted on | October 1, 2011 | 11 Comments

Thanks to Florida (“the Evil State”) we may be  just three months from the Iowa caucuses, and Rick Santorum is going back to the Hawkeye State this weekend for a three-day campaign swing that includes this:

Sunday, October 2:
1:00pm CT: Senator Santorum will take part in a 1870s style baseball game at Living History Farms in Urbandale, IA. Prior to the game, Senator Santorum will visit the small church erected on the site in commemoration of where Pope John Paul II preached to Iowans during his 1979 visit.

Ah, the Pope — say, does anybody know what percent of Iowa GOP caucus-goers are Catholic? Because I kinda think that might matter.

I don’t know the % of Catholics in the Iowa caucus, but I know one Catholic in NEW YORK who wants to vote for Rick Santorum! Too bad my primary vote is worthless due to the late date of our primary elections here. 🙁

23% in Iowa, so it barely matters.

P:  The Lord be with you.
    C:  And also with you.
    P:  Lift up your hearts.
C:  We lift them up to the Lord.
P:  Let us give thanks to the Lord
C:  It is right to give him  thanks and praise.

I think New York should be in play after what happened in that last election. Don’t give up. Give ’em hell.

It doesn’t matter; we’re all slavish puppets to the will of the Vatican and will vote as the Pope directs.

I remember that one from the JFK election.

Speaking for CA, welcome to my world.  At least Santorum has been out here.

Compared to around 40% evangelical Protestants . . . and you have to figure at least half of the Catholics are Democrats anyway.
