Slightly rough language here. This sounds like excerpts from a larger interview. Does anyone know the context?

That is a great clip. Thank you. I will link that immediately. Because it is so good.

John Wayne: American…
Smitty has posted some audio of John Wayne talking about what’s wrong with Leftism and it’s well-worth a listen, so please do take the time to click here and spend a few minutes with The Duke. The Left did their damnedest to portray Mr. Way…
[…] The Other McCain found this hidden gem: The Duke pontificates on Libs (This is from 1975, but it sounds like he could be talking about today): “You’re being conned into keynesianism and socialism now…” […]
John Wayne has been a hero of mine since I first saw The Searchers when I was 12.
He was feo, fuerte y formal.
AMC has been showing Wayne movies. I saw The Shootist for the first time today. Pretty damn good.
Yep, that’s a keeper. http://www.leftbankofthecharles.com/2012/01/i-thought-i-was-liberal-like-john-wayne.html
I’m pretty sure that’s out takes from a larger interview, or perhaps several interviews (there are volume changes between the segments). I saw several interviews of him, and heard a few things from him on radio back in the early 60s, but can’t remember anything where he held forth on political views in that manner.
The scary fact of this is that IT IS EXACTLY HAPPENING TODAY! The fact that we have the most left-wing administration in Washington since FDR. The fact that they are using such policies as “green” energy to change the economy. They are using all kinds of legislation and the courts to, in fact, change human behavior. Recently, my city, Pasadena, California, passed a law that one can not smoke in their own apartment, condo and or townhome. It takes effect in full next year. I am not a real smoker (an occasional cigar), but this is insanity. We need more, not less, plain talkers like John Wayne.
I’d be willing to bet that this is audio from that playboy interview he did long ago.
It was a great last movie for The Duke.
I love the little speech he gives to Opie when he’s giving the kid a shooting lesson:
I won’t be wronged. I won’t be insulted. I won’t be laid a-hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.
