Help Wanted: Clairvoyant Police

In Atlanta, an armed police officer in a school — y’know, like the NRA has recommended — disarmed a shooter after only one person was injured. This good news wasn’t good enough for Piers Morgan:

The link Piers provided goes to a story titled “Armed guard disarmed teen in Atlanta school shooting, police chief says.” Is he suggesting the officer failed because he didn’t stop the shooting before a single shot was fired? Isn’t that moving the goal posts quite a bit? No one suggested putting psychic cops in schools just cops.

We need police with ESP who can foresee events before they occur and prevent them from happening. Or we need to deport Piers Morgan.

    This is akin to Mother Jones’ assertion that an armed citizen has ever stopped a mass shooting. The reasoning being, if somebody stops a shooting at one or two victims, then it is not a mass shooting and therefore one was not stopped.

    QED.

    Or perhaps it’s the same logic we enjoyed in grade school. Make a repetitive gesture until somebody asks what you’re doing, and reply “This keeps the tigers away.” When your interlocutor responds there aren’t any tigers for thousands of miles, you shrug and smugly say “See? It works!”

    In short, an armed off duty guard was able to prevent a mass murder event by disarming the teen.

    Look him up on Twitter @piersmorgan and ask him who Newtown trusts more, him or the NRA. They just hired armed guards for their grade schools.

    Your first point reminds of the fact that Giuliani received no credit for cutting the murder rate in half, saving over 600 most minority victims each year. The reason? Well, since they were not murdered, we could not name them.

    Your second point? Well, I have been gesturing like mad and still the circus was able to bring tigers to town this week.
