Police Arrest Teacher, Accused of Four-Year Lesbian Affair With Teen Student

Rebecca Diebolt, 35, was arrested Wednesday.

PLACENTIA — A Valencia High School teacher suspected of having a sexual relationship with a student was arrested Wednesday, and police say they are looking for other victims.
Rebecca Eileen Diebolt, 35, was arrested on suspicion of sexual contact with a person under the age of 18, a week after a woman told police that she and Diebolt had a sexual relationship that began when she was a student and continued after she graduated, according to a police statement.
The woman told police that in 2004, at the age of 15, she first “formed a relationship” with Diebolt, who was her language arts teacher and swim/water polo coach.
Authorities allege that Diebolt had “multiple sexual encounters” with the student, both in her classroom and at her home after school hours and on weekends.
Investigators believe the relationship continued until 2008, after the woman graduated and began attending college.

Kelly O’Rourke, 42, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in October 2013 for having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Andrea Michelle Cardosa, 40, was charged with 16 felony counts in February after two former female students accused her of sexually molesting them. One accuser said Cardosa started having sex with her when she was only 12.
Nicole Wooten was arrested in February 2013 on charges that she had sex with a girl in 2005 and 2006, when the victim was a 12-year-old eighth-grader.
Linda Wallace was sentenced to prison in September after pleading guilty to having had a four-year sexual affair with a female student that began when the girl was 13.
Sarah Blessing, 28, was convicted in 2010 of having sex with a 17-year-old Catholic school girl who was on a swim team Blessing coached.
Jaymee Wallace, 30, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2007 for having sex with a 14-year-old girl who was her student at a Florida high school.
Amanda Michelle Feenstra, 32, pleaded guilty in October 2013 to having sex with a 17-year-old girl who was a student at the Texas high school where Feenstra was a dance teacher.
Tonya Drueppel was arrested in January on charges that she had sex with a middle-school girl beginning in October 2012, when the victim was 13.
Nichol Marie Phelps, 30, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison last week for having sex with a 15-year-old girl who was a student at the Florida dance academy where Phelps taught.

Not like there’s a trend here or anything . . .

Hmmm, and all of the examples are of female teachers molesting girls. Now, there have been plenty of stories about female teachers molesting boys as well, some of which I have previously forwarded to our host, but, were we to take the word of the lovely Anamika, homosexuality has nothing, nothing at all, to do with the molestation of children and teenagers.

Yup. From the law enforcement stats: Catholic priest scandals were 81% man-on-boy action. That’s a pretty hefty percentage from a proclivity that represents 2% of the population.

A careful reader will notice something interesting about these stories: Never, when reporting same-sex molestation cases, do mainstream media use the terms “gay,” “lesbian” or “homosexual.” In fact, when researching this phenomenon, one must often read the articles very closely — paying attention to pronouns — to even realize that these cases involve same-sex molestation. Often, the headline and lead of such a story will simply say that someone is accused of sex with a “student” or “minor” or “teenagers,” omitting mention or whether the victim is male or female until the second or third paragraph, where the presence of a pronoun (“him” or “her” or “she”) is the first clue.

But there’s no such thing as media bias …

That is not to say female teachers don’t target adolescent boys. They do, and increasingly, as TOM has also noted. And there are still male teachers looking for sex with teenage girls out there. But the rapid rise of same sex molestation is what is interesting and what is being selectively and biasedly reported by the media.

Unless of course it involves a Catholic Priest or a Boy Scout leader.

One would think that, if this was all about power, and didn’t involve homosexuality, the victims of teachers sexually abusing students would be roughly 96 to 98% opposite sex cases, that being the approximate proportion of normal people vis a vis homosexuals in the population. After all, heterosexual teachers ought to have the same power over students as homosexual ones, and heterosexual teachers ought to be attracted to victims of the opposite sex, not the same sex.

Jay, were you to spend much time on this fine site, you’d have noticed that our host has been just as hard on heterosexual child sexual abuse as homosexual abuse. However, the numbers don’t lie: case of same-sex abuse are far greater, percentagewise, than the proportion of homosexuals in the population. How, exactly, do you explain that if homosexuality isn’t somehow part of the equation?

Why is homosexuality to blame when it’s same sex, but heterosexuality, or just plain human sexuality isn’t to blame when it’s opposite sex? I notice once gay people are involved it becomes this abstract socio-cultural argument about social acceptance of homosexuals, and their “deviant lifestyle”, and if we kept these people down they wouldnt be looking to hook-up with teenagers. Your logic is pretty inconsistent. You could just as easily blame pornography, or single parent households, or whatever liberal boogeyman you want.

I don’t disagree that this site has made a case of child abuse in general, and that’s a good thing because it happens far too often, and not enough is made of it, especially when you see what abuse does to the victim in the short, and long term. I just don’t see what homosexuality has to do with it, when heterosexuals engage in similar behavior and always have. It’s just a matter of human sexuality. Look, I don’t want to get into an ethical argument about hebophilia, about from a biological, and aesthetic standpoint it’s pretty natural to want younger partners, even if that violates contemporary social norms. Is it really even a disorder? I dont think the DSM has ever classified it as such, and pedophilia does not apply to a 15 or 16 year old boy, or girl. That’s not an argument to change age of consent laws because there’s still a power differential, especially in a teacher/student relationship, but that brings me back to what I was saying: it’s all about power.

Our host is noting — not to put words into his mouth — and I agree: child sexual abuse is a very bad thing, whether opposite sex or same sex. However, there is an obviously greater danger from homosexual teachers than heterosexual ones, as indicated by the statistics.

In some ways, I’d say yes, it is a disorder, because you have some people so eaten up with it that they risk everything to copulate with underaged teenagers. All of the people our esteemed host listed above were professionals, college-educated people with decently-paying careers, who threw it all away to screw kids whom they all knew would destroy their careers and quite possibly their freedom if such was ever discovered. If Mrs Diebolt wanted a younger lover, she could have tried to find someone who was 18 rather than 15, and it might have destroyed her marriage, but it wouldn’t be risking jail.
