Watch this 17 minute clip.

On this Memorial Day weekend, as we contemplate the risks and sacrifices undertake by Americans from the Founding Fathers through today, it’s easy to treat all of that heroic military stuff in a purely historical mode.
Keep in mind though: this history of this country is a vast book of unknown page count. At one year per page from the Declaration of Independence onward, we’re at page 234 now.
The book itself stands threatened by various destructive ideological, economic and, yes, religious forces.
So, look to and honor the past. However, if you don’t come away energized to stand

  • Firmly,
  • Resolutely,
  • Peacefully if possible,
  • Prepared if not

to carry forward the tradition of American individualism and exceptionalism, then I submit you need to go back to your history and refresh yourself. Purge and disabuse yourself of all of the post-modern, guilt-ridden, morally relativistic dreck infusing that spineless species of human known as the modern liberal.

This mosque at Ground Zero must be opposed, and Memorial Day is a fine time to recall why. If there is a genunine interest in healing an rapport, then these Muslim scholars need to understand that this project is a pillar of salt driven into a raw wound. The answer is ‘NO’, and it is impossible for any amount of noble intention to alter this answer. In fact, continuing to raise the question merely inflames the unhealed flesh.  Go away, scholars.

I knew these bastards were up to no good. Millions of dollars to errect a 13 story mosque 2 blocks from ground zero…who has that kind of money lying around? They didn’t get it from a bake sale.

But with the New York elites sharing the Travis Smiley position on how the world is, they approved it overwhelmingly. Nice tribute to those hundreds of first responders who died trying to save those workers inside. For shame on all of you who cannot see what is in front of your faces.

I am not anti Islam. Not at all. I am anti Islamic Radicals, Wahabbis, and Salafists(Islamofascists if you will). They are the enemy and I reject them. I am not surprised their poison is involved with this mosque.

Walit Shoebat and Roger Simon do a great job of exposing Islam’s tenets for the uninitiated. Excellent post.

Should we forget to also build a monument honoring Adolf the Meat Tenderizer of Jews? How about one to Alberto Musclemeanie? Let’s not forget Hirohitjob.

This is total insanity. If this mosque is accomplished I will have lost what little respect I had left for the people of New York City.

It is hard to stop something that is legal and on private property. The first amendment applies here and our enemies can, with some limited restrictions, do something offensive like this.

I do not want to water down the first amendment. I do not want to use the power of government to improperly restrict this group (or indirectly like Mayor Daley would do if you wanted to do something legal but which he disagreed with in Chicago), even though I find it disgusting what they have planned (when they condemn Mohammed Atta the same way Cardinal O’Connor condemned abortion clinic bombers–without qualification–let me know).

But what bothers me is the lack of reaction in NYC. No they are not more tollerant, it is because many there are more jaded and morally numb. The middle and working class no longer live in Manhattan. It is just the wealthy and some poor. That’s it. And it skewers the morals.

Let’s erect a statue of Mohammed across the street. See how much approval that gets from the Muslim community

This subject is one where Glenn Beck is just wrong.

The recognition of individual liberty by our Constitution does not trump the powers of local governments to make laws restricting where and when certain things are to be allowed.

Just like the old “fire” in a crowded theater nonsense, you can actually yell “No!” to a porn shop next to a school, and get your local government to make a law about it. The feds can’t do that, but the local government can, and at times, must.

This mosque is obscene. It belongs elsewhere for that reason, and none other need be given.
