Slandering Of American Conservatives Has Begun? Stanley, Where’ve You Been?

Fer cryers, Tim Stanley: first, there was the entire George W. Bush administration, but then the Left’s Joeseph Goebbles Memorial Anti-Conservative Hate Fest picked up fresh vigor with the arrival of the Tea Parties:

The slandering of the conservative movement has begun. For the past month, American newspapers have been awash with stories about the religion of various Republican presidential candidates.

For normal, honest people used to extending the benefit of the doubt to others, it has been shocking and disheartening. It would be great if we could have a reasoned, well-tempered discussion with the Left, but the typical Lefty cannot or will not engage in a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition. Conservatives have inadvertently arrived at Abuse, instead of the Argument Clinic.

The trick now is to keep up the pressure, as the Left dissolves into a quivering pool of hate, without becoming the Left.

The ease with which calls to violence and thuggery leave their lips and the media’s “Well they’re right to say it about these guys!”
    Tyrants.

[…] To paraphrase Dan Rather, if American conservatives are ever slandered, the London Telegraph would certainly like to break that news. Filed under: Capitalism, the Unknown Ideal, Liberal Fascism, Radical Chic, The New Puritans, The […]

A phenomenon cannot be said to have “begun” until the “right” people have noticed it.

Any day now I expect to learn that water has “begun” to flow downhill.

    quotidian (adjective) Recurring daily
I introduced candidate Ronal Reagan in January 1980 with a view to provoking his critics.  And I toyed, with the advocate’s delight, with the quotidian criticisms of Mr. Reagan.

    Bill Buckley.

Mr. Buckley did not have a vision.

    His “view”  to provoke worked.

    Labor day indeed.

One cannot “talk to the left” they’re lost their listening ears and they never had “inside voices”.

I love them doing this so early. I love the smell of panic in the morning.

“He’s a racist, no wait…He’s a Christian, no…He’s an anti-science denialist who wants to eat your children.”

They think people are tuning out now, they ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

The slandering of conservatives has begun

This is either some kind of reprint from the nineteen oughts or before, or the British press really needs to get out more often.

Nearly 30 years ago a young woman in my work circle had put herself through college and won grants and admission to UVA Law, so she was no dummy.  Her fiance and I were the only conservatives in the extended social group, though, and the rest of them, liberals, hated talking politics with us.

She put it best one day after I explained why one of her liberal ideas was false:  “I hate arguing politics with you or Michael [the fiance] – you know too many facts!”

The left will lose every single debate on the merits. They were defeated, in effect, after Dukakis, it was an embarrassment to be known as liberal. But Clinton revived the brand with his blatant lying. His spin doctors just flat out lied all the time. It caught on.

Lie, and attack. That’s all they know now.

And whenever the Bolsheviks feel they’re losing or are out power they always revert to type. As the CBC and the unions succeed in enraging their constituencies and then Pres. Zero loses along with the senate there is going be be a bunch of realy PO losers with no one to save them. This election is only the end of the begining for this conflict.

I think there’s a very good chance, after what we’ve seen in Wisconsin and other places, that things are going to get violent over the next year, and worse if the Bolshes lose big-time.
