RSS Subscription Note

In an effort to defray some of the hosting cost, I finally go around to an AdSense account, and put ads into the RSS feed. This seems to have blown away the 250 or so die hard readers of this blog.
Should have expected such. At any rate, sign up for our RSS feed now, and win a link to a free blog post! And another! And another one! Then, click an advertisement and wallow in the unfettered capitalism of it all!

Update: Lo an behold, the 250-ish subscribers are back! #HappyDance

Admiral, you are now – and always have been – on my RSS feed and I send along as much linky-love as I can…but I’m never linked in return.  That’s OK.  I understand that I suck at this blogging thing and never post anything of interest.  I’m just a new guy with no future, but I’ll continue to read you and link you.

    Ouch.
I did just subscribe to your feed a couple weeks back, but have not been getting any ping/trackback messages from your site.
And I have been enjoying your posts, too, just haven’t managed to get a post out linking you.

Dell, if you use the Blogger/Blogspot platform like I do, the TOM team will never know if you link to them unless you tell them! (Also a problem for me, is I never know who links to me unless I happen to come across it at their blogs because blogger kind of sucks with trackbacks or it hates me.) You can send Wombat links to your that link to The Other McCain posts by each Friday to be included in his Full Metal Jacket Reach Around roundup. Please post the link to your blog, if I do not already have you on my blogroll, I will put you there, and also, maybe I can find some stuff at your place to link to as well. 😉 I’m no The Other McCain, but linky love is linky love, you know?
What I do when I link another blogger is I find a way to tell them, if I can, I email them, tweet them, or just let them know in their comments section, it’s the polite thing to do. 😉

I don’t need the rss feed because not only are you guys in my blogroll, but I check this blog compulsively throughout the day. I don’t see why anyone would be turned off by an ad in the feed, it’s just like a line or two under the post, NO BIG DEAL!  Gosh people who apparently don’t have to pay bills can be so fickle!
I’ll sign up for the feed though, because I heart you guys.

Thanks, Zilla.  At this point I’m ready to bag the whole thing and chalk it up to a bad experience.  This has not been a good day.  Never mind me, I’m just an old guy who’s not all that “techie” cool like that.

As long as you’re passing out links, I’ll take one. ;0)

Ha! I’ll trump your manual compulsivity with this: my RSS feeder chimes when there’s a new post up.
