What If The Left Threw A Race War, And No One Came?

No right thinking person should seek to diminish the tragic facts of the Trayvon Martin case, which merit full investigation and trial. On the other hand, American Power notes: “Trayvon Martin Case Threatens Race War in America“. The coverage on the local news has been at saturation level. Do any right-thinking people not grasp that the media frenzy has nothing whatsoever to do with justice, and everything to do with power?

When #OccupyResoluteDesk said “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon” he owned this whole thing. Should further violence be piled upon violence, Obama is culpable.

Arguably, this is the most leadership Obama has displayed in over three years of occupying the Resolute Desk.

From Wikipedia:

The Resolute desk is a large, nineteenth-century partners’ desk often chosen by presidents of the United States for use in the White House Oval Office as the Oval Office desk. It was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880 and was built from the timbers of the British Arctic Exploration ship Resolute.

What an interesting conjunction of memes, between the #Occupy movement, Hayes, Obama, and even Obama’s contempt for the British.

Would that there was less at stake, for all that.

Doesn’t matter what Martin’s family is like!

What matters is the law and the repercussions thereof on society.

I’ve been advocating for firearms safety training in  schools for some time now. I think it’s a great idea.

So true, and I think it should be for everyone — 2nd amendment…we should be training people to do their job in defense of the republic, right?

The universal sound of peace is a shell being chambered in a shotgun.

No, I’m saying that stupidity kicked in for Martin — that doesn’t excuse him — but that stupidity also kicked in on Zimmerman — which doesn’t excuse him either.

I refuse to defend or condone stupid.

You don’t have to have your gun out for someone to go for it.

Wife, you are being silly. You have jumped to more than conclusions. There is so little in the public record, yet you are willing to hang the guy already.

The 911 dispatcher has no authority and even advising is stupid of them. they have no idea what is happening on the ground, and they need to be quiet.

If he was part of a neighborhood watch, then following the target at a distance is not out of bounds, or even close to it. That he was set upon showed he got too close, or Martin circled around to ambush him.

Martin may have paid the piper, but I doubt Zimmerman is as guilty as you wish to make him out. I have no doubt this will turn into some kind of legal lynching, given FedGov’s racist malice under BHO. But, frankly, you mark yourself as an hysterical idiot rather than a thinking person the way you are writing about this.

I’ll be more impressed when FedGov goes after the black thugs that torched the 13 year old white kid.

I have to reply to this: no Quartermaster, I don’t think I’m being silly.  Irregardless of whether or not Martin was a thug; he wasn’t doing anything that warranted a confrontation from Zimmerman — call 911, yes, but no confrontation.  Following the guy, getting out of the vehicle is confronting — I ask you, and I’m going to be racist here: who gets out of their vehicle, follows, then confronts a 6′ +  black guy at night who is to your estimation acting suspiciously and possibly under the influence?
Is it because of the presence of a firearm?  If that is the case, then Zimmerman acted negligently — a firearm is is a tool; it is a tool for killing and one of the responsibilities of firearm users is to know that you do not take out that tool unless you are wanting to do a job with it.  It isn’t there to give you courage or justification.  Neither is being on a neighborhood watch.  If anything you should be more aware of the necessity of acting responsibily.  Yeah, I don’t like people who don’t take their firearms seriously; they are serious tools and should be handled and thought of accordingly — people like Zimmerman make it hard for people like me because I wind up paying for their stupid.A big question here is does the self-defense ruling stand when you willingly put yourself into a potentially violent situation (that did not warrant your presence and which you yourself may have been at least partially responsible for escalating)?

So no, I don’t believe I’m being silly — Martin acted dumb, but he’s already paid the biggest price he could, and Zimmerman acted dumb too, and just because some people want to make a saint/martyr of the other dumb guy doesn’t mean this dumb guy deserves to be made into a saint/martyr.
The only defense I’ll grant to Zimmerman is that he doesn’t deserve this stupid bounty on his head (which is another case of private citizens presuming they can take the law into their own hands).  But the biggest defense that needs to be made is to the rule of law and every poor slob on the sidelines who will be paying the price for dumb and dumber here.  They are the real losers here.
