Still a month to go before “National Offend a Feminist Week,” but some folks can’t wait, eh? I’ll save the lecture for the updates, but first let’s aggregate today’s headlines (via Memeorandum and Twitter):
Ann Romney Fights Back: Debuts on Twitter
to Counter DNC Advisor’s Insult
— ABC News
Rosen apologizes over comments against Ann Romney
— CNN
Democrats declare war on women?
Update: Frequent White House visitor?
— Hot Air
Hilary Rosen, Frequent White House Visitor
— National Review
Team Romney To Obama:
You Started The War Over Women
— BuzzFeed
Conservatives Attack Hilary Rosen
For Raising Children As A Lesbian
— Think Progress
New Tone alert: Libs attack
Ann Romney as ‘cunt,’ ‘bitch,’ ‘whore’
— Twitchy
Once again demonstrating the enduring truth that, if it weren’t for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.
UPDATE: Remember last month when the Southern Poverty Law Center added “misogyny” to its Hate Group list? Not an accident.
UPDATE II: You now what we need here? Some good old-fashioned male chauvinist objectification:
Who Is Hotter? Hilary Rosen or Ann Romney
Brilliant. Which reminds me . . .
Hands off my “Ann Romney bikini” Google-bomb!
UPDATE III: What the hell? Liberals consider this an “apology”?
Rosen is defending, not apologizing for, her hateful attitude toward traditional wives and mothers. And please tell me who spent weeks trying to “score political points” on this issue, huh?
UPDATE IV: What started it all:
Maybe Rush Limbaugh should call Hilary Rosen a “slut,” just for the pure fun of it. (BTW, is that her maiden name?)
You are your own perfect example.
Tut tut, Anamika, tut tut!
You replied to FenelonSpoke’s post. Since you did not agree, you must disagree. Ergo, you rebutted his comment, and in a most incoherent fashion.
If you are supporting FenelonSpoke, you do so in a most ambiguous fashion.
Tut tut, Anamika! Past behavior is difficult to forget, especially when it’s decidedly negative. Tut tut!
Project much? I can tell you do get adequate exercise though, all that jumping to conclusions …
Tut tut, Anamika, tut tut!
I offer an opinion, not a false argument. If it’s a fallacy, you must disprove my opinion, else you merely assert that I offer a fallacy.
Tut tut, Anamika! Stereotyping ain’t pretty, but someone has to do it. Tut tut!
The surgical inseretion of a sense of humor or the cranial-anal-ectomy?
Stacy “The Glass Is Half Full!” McCain
Tweet of the day: The woman who “never worked a day in her life” just won a media war with a career political communication “expert.”

How’s them apples Anamika?
If you want to be pissed at someone, aim your hot stream at Anamika.
She seems to be taking the MOST DELIGHT in all this, if you ask me.
Agreed. Say what you will about Mitt Romney as a politician, it sounds like he has a great family. Due, in no small part, to Ann Romney.
[…] weapon” for quite some time. I guess now they know just how worried they should be.The Other McCain reminds us that “if it weren’t for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at […]
Yeah, it ain’t the Anamika of old, she who cheerfully and openly pined for Anthony Weiner’s…..well, you know!
Bitter and angry is a good description. Could it be cheap hooch?
What fallacy is that? Hmm…
Well, you clever person! Truly your attempts to bait people are outstanding (uhm, here’s a hint: you probably shouldn’t admit to actually trying to drum up faux outrage or take your focus off of said endeavor if that is exactly what you are trying to accomplish — kinda defeats the purpose; better luck next time).
And with that timely and helpful piece of advice, this could wind up working in Romney’s favor if he can make the point of being concerned that many women can no longer stay at home with their children (as families are important, children are important!) thanks to the truly atrocious economic conditions afflicting average Americans right now (and that Ann gets sent out on the campaign trail because he values her opinion — as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a woman). Oh, and maybe hit Obama with his little problems with treating women respectfully and equally.
I think this is already happening, but it could be pressed harder still.
Anamika, you are truly a beneficence to the cause of Romney’s campaign my darling!
The above sentence is a perfect example of your ‘method’ of en-passant insult and dare. Your denial of the feelings of an other, coupled with your ‘iron warrior’ attitude, reveal you to be selfishly insensitive, if not downright cruel. Sure, go ahead and grind out your cigar-ash in that old wound, and then, wince in annoyance and puzzlement when the other reacts in pain. Great game, dude. Keep it up! Duh!
Overcoming anger and hatred is not, and never was, the problem. Overcoming stupidity, and idiocy, well that’s another matter.
Heh, yeah, Preston’s article pretty much gives the hint that Ann Romney is in short order to be Palinized (and Barry will be playing the role of Mr. Clean, Michelle will once again be off limits because Barry played gallant here).
The trick is to sidestep the trap and keep the pressure up. I’ll give the vindictive, evil suckers credit: they are clever with this s**t.
One must be careful addressing it in endearing terms. It really does take itself seriously.
Just thought I’d let you all know, your darling little Ricky Poo is going to be on Greta sometime tonight.
Wow “selfishly insensitive if not downright cruel”.
High praise indeed!
It accuses you of insulting it’s intelligence, how on earth did you find it in order to insult.
Re. Adobe_Walls
I have been wondering what you mean by ‘taking oneself seriously’. I offer that if you can learn to take yourself seriously, that you will have much less trouble in your life. Casual and flippant, does not veracity or sincerity make.
Re. Adobe_Walls
High praise?
Go fuck yourself. But do it with kindness and sensitivity.
Don’t be uncool about it. Give yourself the kind of nice, sweet fucking of yourself that you deserve.
Similar to Rich Lowry is a Coward.
I agree. She is personable and connects with people, where Mitt is too stiff and robotic.
Thank you!
No.
It’s not like this system is hard to use – it tells you to whom one is replying!
She’s not even trying. This reads like “going through the motions.”
“Stale, flat and unprofitable”?
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of
a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every
victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Sun Tzu, The Art Of War, Book 3, section 18.
“Your”…..you keep on using that word. I do not think that word means what you think.
mittens 2012: at least he’s not a communist!
I just didn’t want to call out any names for the sake of simplicity. The people to whom it applies know to whom its meant. For what its worth, its meant mainly in jest, though certain people, when I think of them in connection with Santorum, remind me of the parents of little brats who just never seem able to do any wrong in those parents eyes. That’s what I mean by that, no need in reading too much into it.
Tut tut, Anamika, tut tut!
The fallacy is, assuming that you ever speak the truth, or argue without a rhetorical trick up your sleeve.
Tut tut, Anamika! Don’t ever play poker for money. Tut tut!
Everything I saw earlier read as a new insult. It rather took me aback, until I remembered the study that showed that liberals literally believe that their views are superior and righteous altogether.
This has been a fascinating display.
Either that, or Hilary Rosen volunteered for the role of “Road Kill”; which rather gives one pause. Her career as a spin-mistress is in jeopardy!
The problem being that Rosen started it, and has managed to make herself appear both insulting and oblivious.
Obama is trying to get his base fired up. So this might mean that he’s failing miserably.
TMI. Just…waaaaaay TMI, plus unwanted visual, plus involuntary need to urge you to take care of yourself, and horrified worry.
Re. it
My comment was sincere and I do take myself seriously, you on the other hand I do not.
For instance I was sincerely attempting to warn Pathfinder’s wife about the potential for finding her pets in a pot on the stove if she encouraged you.
That’s why I think she’s a stupid leftie. Only a leftie would be this stupid on such a topic….
Thanks — just wanted to be sure.
Re. it
I’m not into yoga and your knowledge of anatomy appears flawed.
Dungbat.
I’m no public relations specialist, but wouldn’t it be extraordinarily likely to backfire were anyone to attack Ann Romney? She is warm, charming, clearly intelligent – just like Sarah Palin – but she’s also fragile.
People would not take that well, not even committed leftists of Anamika’s stripe, when she’s not on the clock.
You really don’t want to get it started on apples. Lord only knows what she’d do with them.
In this case appearances are not deceiving.
That would be the coward Rich Lowry who is an editor at NRO?
I’d have gone with “overwrought, outmanuevered, and, perhaps, itchy” — but admittedly my powers of perception are limited.
Nah, she’s going to be well compensated by her masters; that will more than make up for any blasting they give her in public (hmm, although it could be used as a point to show that they have no problems with making the women falling on their swords for them).
In response to your earlier question: no, they will not care one whit about Ann Romney’s fragility — the goal here is to put a little bug in people’s ears (which they are actualizing the longer this stays out there, which Rosen is helping along) and it has to do with the 1 vs. the 99 more than anything, but if they can get traction on something else with it they will. It also has to do with Obama looking like the good and gracious knight plus innoculating his own family from any scrutiny (and Michelle is a person who deserves it as much as her husband — there are some interesting things to be found in Chicago, but she is “off limits”).
Erick Erickson isn’t “prominent” – he is a failed attorney who beclowns himself regularly on his website, and is buffoonish enough to be a CNN commentator.
Personally, I’m neither outraged nor surprised by Rosen’s remarks. As with most Obama supporters, the only women she ever cared about are baby-killers and sluts.
But’ya gotta admit one should never pass on an opportunity for gratuitous lefty bashing.
She’s the worm that ruins the apples.
