Palin: ‘Conservatives Must Stay Engaged’

Best wishes to everyone for a happy New Year! In the coming days there will be a great deal of debate about the goings-on in the political arena and the shenanigans in Washington. Constitutional commonsense conservatives must stay engaged and hold our “leaders” accountable to the voice of average everyday hard working Americans or we will very soon become an enslaved, bankrupt former nation of greatness. So, please keep the faith heading into this new year. And for now, remember to be grateful for the blessings and opportunities God has given us as independent individuals, as caring members of families, as honorable businesses and communities, and as countrymen who understand this most exceptional nation’s foundations of strength. We’ve been given all this for yet another year; let’s not take it for granted. In this new year, as jobs change with doors closing and opening, kids growing, relationships evolving, and life throwing curveballs, may you resolve to stay engaged and optimistic. May you pick your battles wisely. And may you live life vibrantly! God bless you all and God bless our great country as we promise to live out 2 Chronicles 7:14. Here’s to liberty!

– Sarah Palin

It’s easy to succumb to despair and anger, get emotional, throw a fit. Fine get it out. Call them all everything under the sun. Block out a “pouty day”.

Then, if all of your efforts thus far meant anything, get up and get back in the fray. A huge chunk of the battle was showing up. Another chunk is having the stamina to outlast the Godless Commie enemies of liberty. I’m not saying be detached and high minded. You’re not Mitt Romney or George W. Bush, sufficiently insulated from all this that you can buy privacy and gaff off the moocher hordes that rejected limited government.

The bad guys want you to give up. Deny them joy.

Indeed. Take a breather if you have to, but the fight isn’t over yet.

If Palin can still be in the game with everything they did to her (and her family), then we have no excuse.
It also says something about the party leadership shunting this woman aside. Has Romney said anything?

That guy is decompressing, and he has my utmost respect. After his effort, and that election result, he doesn’t owe anybody in this country a thing, IMO.

I do not have hard feelings for Romney. He was not my favorite, not my first choice, but what is done is done. He is out of politics now, certainly for the short term.

After it has come out that he didn’t have “fire in the belly” I’d say he’s out for good, as far as holding office is concerned. I predicted he would lose, and outcome I didn’t want, but he simply didn’t ring the bells that a winner would have.

    Palin: Churchill in the Wilderness.

I don’t think that 90% of Americans have any idea, any idea at all, how bad things are going to get and the plain fact that they have affirmatively voted for it.

I just don’t know if i have anything left in me right now. All this “fiscal cliff” hysteria right after the election wiped me out. Maybe after I finish all the leftover Xmas cookies and get back to a normal diet I’ll feel like I can re-engage in the battle.

    Give up? No.

Switch to a party that hasn’t had it’s testicles systematically removed? Maybe.

I already gave up, and moved out of the USA. I don’t think I will return for a good long time, and won’t have to worry about my taxes. Foreign income exemption for under $92,500 p/yr FTW!

So, you’re saying that George Washington’s similar lack of fire in the belly was a misfeature?

Smitty, if the conditions still held true that allowed George Washington to prosper, we would have had President Fred Thompson in 08. It is one measure of how far we’ve fallen that only full-time (24/7/365) politicians need apply.

While I share your respect for Romney (somewhat), I cannot forget how Romney was the “electable” one by the Rove types. People like Palin, and Santorum were demonized mercilessly by the establishment. And, as your post notes, who is still fighting and who is not? It was just meant to be a polite observation, thats all.
