Rush Is Right: Media Can’t Hide Their Disappointment Over Zimmerman Trial

The murder trial of George Zimmerman was required only to satisfy the national media demand for it. You may recall that Zimmerman was not initially charged with any crime in connection with the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. But then various civil-rights activists began agitating, and their agitation was echoed and amplified by the national media and so prosecutors charged Zimmerman with a crime of which, as the trial has shown, he can never be convicted.

Andrew Branca argues that the defense’s motion to acquit should have been granted. Given the weak case presented by the prosecution, all the defense now has to do is avoid errors and Zimmerman walks. So what is the media doing now? Hoping for riots:

DAN ABRAMS, ABC NEWS: “If Zimmerman is found not guilty, is your office ready for that?”
SANFORD POLICE CHIEF CECIL SMITH: “I believe we have plans that will be able to deal with issues as they arise.”
ABRAMS: “I assume the worst-case scenario, then, would be riots?”
SMITH: “Yeah, and I will say it again: You know, we are not talking about riots. We’re talking about rallies. If people choose to come to Sanford and voice their opinions or if they want to come and rally, we welcome that. We want people to have the opportunity to express themselves.”

After playing that on his show last week, Rush Limbaugh did a montage of media commentators discussing the possibility of Zimmerman being convicted of a lesser charge:

Isn’t it amazing? Here comes the media begging, “Can we at least do manslaughter? Oh, my God, we’re not gonna get murder one, can we get manslaughter?” This guy’s gotta get convicted of something. We’re too invested in this. And short of a conviction, the media is saying, “Oh, it would be so, so sad if we had riots.” You can see what’s being stoked out there.

Hat-tip: The Jawa Report. I doubt there will be riots in a relatively small town like Sanford, Florida. More likely you would see eruptions of violence in big cities. Of course, if they riot in Chicago, how would it be more violent than any other day in Chicago?

UPDATE: The screaming voice on the 911 recording? Zimmerman, say seven witnesses for the defense. Ace reiterates the obvious:

The media’s role in this has been shameful. It is obvious now as it was obvious then that this was a racial prosecution, pure and simple, and yet they cheerleaded for it just the same.

Everybody knows this, even the media themselves, but such is their emotional investment in the narrative, they can’t let go.

But Dan Abrams wants George Zimmerman convicted so badly; maybe the jury should come back with a guilty verdict just so the mainstream media will call them all heroes. After all, It worked for John Roberts on ObamaCare.

My heart, it, it bursts at the incredible pathos of the sad, sad infinitesimally small interval by which TM miscalculated how much to beat GZ and when to stop. And oh, if only he could have seen ahead of time George’s holstered weapon and known to only administer a sucker punch then to run. But such is the stuff tragedy is made of. That and the fact that we couldn’t buy tickets and popcorn to watch the little thug get plugged.

Rush IS right. For background, I troll Democratic Underground and tweet out their idiocy. When this first occurred, Zimmerman was tried and crucified, thanks to the complicit media. Now they are despondent that odds are he will walk.

Actually, Abrams just penned a piece where he said Zimmerman would probably get off and that he should because of the weak prosecution. Although Abrams sure would like for Zimmerman to be convicted of something.

Actually, Good testified Martin did NOT stop flailing on Zimmerman when he screamed at him. There is no evidence at all to support what you posted.

The real tragedies here are the public schools and union teachers that turned out “graduates” like you.

It seems at the end of the trial we may be where we were before Crump and Sharpton brought their race pimp sideshow to town: a violent thug died attacked an armed citizen who defended himself. Full circle.

There will certainly be no rioting in the Sanford or Orlando area by local people, as none of them – without respect to race – are happy to have Miami thugs moving into the area. Maybe Sharpton can load a few buses with SEIU members, they’re a bunch of criminals they could bring in to riot.

Before they took down Martin’s Facebook page, right after his death there were dozens of messages from friends and family. All were, “it’s so sad” and “I’ll miss you” or “can’t believe you are gone” stuff. No one was surprised he was shot attacking someone, no one suggested injustice or that Zimmerman had even acted improperly.

Why not? Because they KNEW what violent thug Martin was, and it was not a surprise. The outrage didn’t begin until Crump built a stage, Mama trademarked Trayvon’s image, and Sharpton marched across with his “No Justice No Peace Dancers” to TELL them all to be outraged – because we need to get paid!

The media is absolutely disgusting to watch after they are realizing that Zimmerman will walk. The media should stick to reporting facts and let law enforcement deal with issues like the one that happened with George Zimmerman & Trayvon Martin. The media threw gasoline on this smoldering fire and turned it into a five alarm fire and if there are riots and destruction if Zimmerman is found innocent (which it looks like) or a hung jury will the media foot the bill for rebuilding the areas affected ? There needs to be some reform of our media and consequences for altering news and misreporting news such as NBC editing a tape to make it look like Zimmerman was a racist.

Here is one example of our unbiased media –

“On The Today Show, NBC had aired an edited audio clip from a 911 call Zimmerman had placed before the shooting. The clip made it appear as if Zimmerman said: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”

However, in the unedited clip, Zimmerman said: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”

The dispatcher then asked if the suspect was black, white or Hispanic, to which Zimmerman replied, “He looks black.”

The lawsuit names NBC News correspondent Ron Allen along with former NBC News reporters Lilia Rodriguez Luciano and Jeffrey Burnside. Luciano and Burnside were both fired by NBC after an internal investigation of the edited audio clip.”

NBC will be settling out of court and Zimmerman and his attorneys will have a lot of money while the taxpayers get hammered with the court costs and potentially damage from a riot or civil unrest when the verdict is not what people expected based upon our media’s reporting and their obvious dissapointment. There used to be a time where our media was impartial and just reported facts and the news. Vultures and bloodsuckers is our media now – no impartiality or unbiased reporting at least in the US anymore and that is sad.
