In 2011, Sydney Leathers created a Change.org petition, “Tell Sarah Palin to stop inciting violence,” blaming the former Alaska governor for the Tucson massacre. Sydney Leathers subsequently worked as a field organizer for Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
Tuesday evening, BuzzFeed outed Sydney Leathers as the woman whose revelations of “sexting” have effectively destroyed Anthony Weiner’s political comeback and, by the time a Twitter friend called my attention to it, the BuzzFeed item was already a Drudge headline, so no one can blame me for outing her, and the ViralRead headline is a bit more specific:

Frankly, I think it was Weiner’s slime machine that tipped her identity to BuzzFeed, but who cares about such reprehensible creatures?
Wiener “lured” the young woman “via Facebook,” wrote Nik Richie of TheDirty.com, saying that the online relationship — “sending sexually explicit pictures of each other and having sexual conversations via phone” — between the married 48-year-old politician and the woman continued for six months. The damage of the revelations will likely destroy Weiner’s hope of winning the New York mayoralty, Mara Liasson of National Public Radio said Tuesday evening on Fox News: “I just don’t see how he can survive this … This has to be the end.”
The woman who told her story to Richie said, “I was 22 and in a bad place. … I really admired him. … I thought he was misunderstood. Until I got to know him. I thought I loved him. Pretty pathetic. … I was young and dumb. I just want people to really know he’s lying when he acts like he has changed.”
The woman said Weiner offered to get her a condominium in Chicago, and offered to recommend her for a job at the D.C.-based liberal news site Politico.com. “So they are looking to create a panel of bloggers … can I give him your deets?” . . .

UPDATE: Jeff Dunetz has a selection of photos of Sydney Leathers displaying her progressive cleavage and so forth. Exactly why girls engage in this kind of online behavior is something worth discussing. “The New Normal,” I guess? But we shouldn’t really be surprised when Democrat girls end up being “in a bad place” because, after all, they’re working on behalf of Satan’s Own Party.

okay so he screwed up. who else do you know who is as fearless at taking on the right wing fascists in this country. he goes toe to toe with em and never gives an inch. okay so he showed his weenie to a woman in a private conversation. bfd, she was into it and she was sending pics to him as well. you know what she isn’t a victim. at least now that its out in the open nobody is going to try and blackmail him once he is in office. not that it would do them any good. this guy may have a bit of a reckless streak in his personal life but he has been resolved and steadfast and honest in his attempts to keep us from becoming totally owned by corporate interests. so what, he has a little more testosterone then we like to see in our politicans. its because he’s a warrior and as a warrior he has an extra dose of testosterone. but he uses it mostly to fight the good fight for the people. like miss leathers said, because of his stand on the issues he should be able to send out a penis pic a day for the rest of his life. come on don’t let these pretend school marms with their faux shock fool you. they want to destroy him, because they fear him. and they have good reason to fear him because he works for you and me just regular people. thats what they really fear. i say what he does in his private life with consenting adults is his business. lets vote for him and give the bad guys something to fear for a change.
