Reading, writing and rent-a-dates:
SeekingArrangement.com, which bills itself as “the #1 online dating website for sugar babies and generous men,” is now boasting that some 40,000 public school teachers of a certain moral caliber have joined the website in an attempt to . . . seek wealthy, older men for “mutually beneficial relationships.” . . .
According to SeekingArrangement, the top five school districts in the country for sugar-baby teachers are (in order): the School District of Philadelphia, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Los Angeles Unified School District, the Clark County School District (in the Las Vegas area) and the New York City public schools.
Why aren’t you home-schooling yet?

Actually the tradition of a woman looking for a rich man to support them is as old as the culture itself, however in those days said man was expect to marry said younger woman and have his children.
Now said man need only rent them.

Pardon, but why should they feel shame?
Are they not freely consenting adults?
It doesn’t look like they are cheating on spouses or significant others. It doesn’t look like someone is using theft or fraud.
It’s not really all that different from what’s been going on for ages.
Well, this is the result of having pathetic teacher prep programs, horrid curricula, lousy textbooks, idiot administrators, union protection and gov intervention. Your tax dollars hard at work employing morons.

None of my kids have been in public schools government indoctrination centers a day of their lives.
More public school teachers accost children than do priests yet nobody seems to complain about this statistic.
If so many of them molest children, how many more are willing to literally prostitute themselves out?

Hey, if it means we get better teachers into schools, without more salary… Maybe we should rethink the scorn here.
Okay, note that NeoWayland is evidently in favor of the people taking care of his children to prostitute themselves on the side…
Mark down WarEagle82 as “not so much.”
It’s really, the entire system is set up to be self-reinforcing in this way.
20 years ago, when I was in college, the “Education” major was a joke.
My classmates are now approaching retirement (most systems let you retire at 20-25 years).
And they’ve been teaching their replacements.
Assuming that “hooking up” is winning then you might have a point. But there is no evidence that males or females benefit from such “hook ups” and there is enormous downside to promiscuity.
But at what cost?
Another facet on the cubic zirconium which is The Higher Education Bubble? Young ladies with a zillion dollars of student debt living in very expensive places seeking a means to pay off student loans incurred in obtaining an education which is far over priced for the market for their degrees.
You’re stretching the definition of prostitution.
What next? Will you forbid single teachers from dating?
Do you want ankle monitors so you can make sure they don’t stray?
Shall we restrict them to dorms so we can watch them even closer?
Maybe the dorms should have nice strong steel doors and bars on the windows…
“Prostitution is the business or practice of providing sexual services to another person in return for payment.”
Not really so much of a stretch there when you think about what is actually going on.
Put your kids where you want. And my educated, successful kids will get to tell them what to do for the rest of their lives.
Your choice…
Of course it is reinforcing itself. The ed major has been a total joke since it began. It became more important to study social “science” data than to be proficient in subjects being taught. Combine that with all the stupid gov mandates being forced on the schools and the only way to fix all this is to take a bulldozer to the buildings and start over.
It’s been a joke longer than that. When I was in college more than 30 years ago, I had to have 30 hours in my major to get a BA. However, those who were to be certified to teach the same subject, only needed 18 hours. The rest consisted of crap education courses. I took one education course and received an “A” based upon a ten page paper I pulled out of my nether regions while pounding back a six-pack of Bud and going through a deck of Marlboro Lights. I kid you not. The education professor put a damn smiley face on my paper. At that moment, I decided my kids would attend parochial schools.
Could not agree more. Parochial schools not only provided my children with an excellent education, but did so without subverting, but rather reinforcing, what we taught them at home.
Save the building, they can be repurposed as day care centers.
The entire curricula, teacher training and administrator responsibilities needs to be scrapped and go back to the drawing board with the parochial school as the starting point in a comprehensive overhaul of the public schools.
This isn’t going to happen under the progressive and permissive “society” we have now. (I used the word society in place of what it really is, a combination of narcissistic fantasy and anarchy with a healvy dose of graft and corruption).
Maybe the dorms should have nice strong steel doors and bars on the windows…
Like your mind? Do you refuse to see the correlation of immoral behavior in the teachers and immoral behavior in the students they teach (cf Kate Hunt)?
Would you feel comfortable having your finances maintained by someone who is an embezzler?
Then why are you comfortable having your children taught by someone with zero morals?
Are you shocked to find that teachers are the single largest group (outside of family members) that sexually molest children in their care? Did you become fauxraged at the entire Catholic church for the mis-deeds of less than 0.5% of their priests?
Get a life assclown, we stand for morality and self control.
That’s the rub! We may have won the war but lost the piece …
Mores the pity …
The current system isn’t sustainable and will implode. Alternative learning occurs on the internet all the time. That will open the door to developing more accurate course content which can be presented at the student’s pace. The “one size fits all” is coming to and end because it doesn’t work except for those who are more concerned with control than success.
Wealth and power attract those who prefer shortcuts to the top over creativity and a work ethic. The sexual revolution was nothing new, Rome cornered the market on it long before it was an idea here. Feminism should have been about becoming self-sufficient and more self-dependent and not about being morally bankrupt. It takes no talent for that.

Good friend of mine was proud of her 4.0 GPA.
She’d get irate when we’d joke about it being an Education GPA, and that was only a 2.7 anywhere else.
Then she changed major to biomedical engineering. 2 weeks into the semester, she came to apologize for being mad before – she’d just had her “Freshman” Bio and Chem tests on the same day.
In her defense, she’d been working hard at what she was doing – and ended up getting out with a 3.5, IIRC. But she didn’t have any idea what the context was – she was working hard in her classes – not knowing what the real bar was.
But the real terror was my senior year:
http://unix-jedi.livejournal.com/71094.html
(Finally got smart and wrote it down).
And yes, I’ve got even more stories from my tenure at a “Teaching College”. *shudder*
The last year of Dental school I was talking to a couple of girls I knew who were in education. I mentioned that if something should happen to me physically that I couldn’t practice, I’d love to teach biology or chemistry in high school, considering I had a combined Bio/Chem degree in college plus all the specialty science (neuro, head and neck anatomy, phamacology, etc.) in Dental school.
I was reamed out by the girls who informed me I needed to learn how to teach (for four years), and the science was only secondary
“ Do you refuse to see the correlation of immoral behavior in the teachers and immoral behavior in the students they teach (cf Kate Hunt)?”
I’d prefer the teachers not be “teaching” morals.
That’s how we _got here_. I’d prefer the teachers be free to live their private life as they’d see fit – and leave me to live mine – and teach facts, not morality.
Because “teaching morality” is what we’ve done, and it will always devolve to a “leftist” direction. But even if it didn’t – down that way is Bad Results As A Result Of Good Intentions.
